Beauty’s Pizza

Food is average, and delivery service is beyond terrible (expect 30 – 45 minutes late, cold food, and verbal assault).

Beauty’s is amazing. The pizza shop is much more than just pizza; they have an array of sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes. This is an awesome takeout place for almost any craving.

the food wasn’t bad. The only issue was I had to reheat it since it took an hour and forty five minutes to get here. Avoid ordering delivery unless you live very close by

This was the worst place. We ordered a pizza to be here at 11:00. It is now 12 and theyre not here, and have not been receptive to phone calls about us asking where the driver is. We depended on this pizza for an office party. I will never order from these people again.

Would I order from Beauty’s again? Sure. IF I wasn’t pressed for time and IF I happen to be hanging out at the Muddy Charles’ Pub at MIT. It’s relatively cheap and decent quality pizza, but my order took over an hour to be delivered.
It’s a $ 7 delivery charge ($ 6.99…whatever) and I added a 15% tip because I ordered online. In retrospect, I wish I didn’t put that 15% tip on because they certainly didn’t deserve it. Had the delivery charge been non-​existent or less, I might have considered tipping, but with such a hefty delivery charge, I don’t feel that bad.
Beauty’s is one of those choices you make for convenience. I have nothing bad to say about the pizza. It was certainly a better choice than Domino’s or Pizza Hut.

I’m surprised to see several negative reviews posted recently. I lived across the street from this place for two years and ordered from them all the time. They have a very convenient online order system, and I could always count picking up my order 15 minutes after I made it. And the one time I used their delivery, 7 of us in Somerville ordered from Beauty’s and it arrived 30 minutes later.
I haven’t been there in some time but they are overdue a good review from me. They put those hilarious labels on all the containers, with famous quotes attributed to Beauty’s Pizza. Hopefully there are plenty of other customers enjoying the good food and service I grew accustomed to.

I placed an order for a meeting at my office and experience the worst customer service.
The delivery was over a half hour late. The driver called me ¾ times asking for directions and then called me asking me to walk outside in the rain to meet him at a parking meter!
They forgot our soda/​beverages, when I called the store for it they said they would deliver the missing items right away but we never received it. They had charged my boss’s credit card for the missing sodas etc it and it took me two weeks to get it taken off.
I was beyond embarrassed since this order was for a senior level management meeting. I will NEVER order from here again.

I’ve ordered from Beauty’s for delivery to my office a few times, and the pizza is fine. Nothing worth writing a tome about, but recently I ordered 8 pizzas for an office party
…and they didn’t show up.
When I called Beauty’s to ask where they were, the man told me they were delivered. I pleaded my case for longer than I should have. We have a very small office, and if there were 8 hot pizzas here, I would know it, and more-​over, I wouldn’t have called. I’d be eating pizza. Not scamming on Beauty’s.
I told him we didn’t receive the pizzas, and he said they were delivered and his tone indicated this was the end of the conversation. He told me they were delivered to the security guard at the front desk, a man with a mustache. As far as he was concerned — the job was done. I asked that the owner call me, and I don’t think that’s every going to happen.
Beware. Horrible customer service. They don’t so much as care if they mis-​delivered your pizzas.
Also, if you’re in Technology Square, and you stole our pizzas, SHAME ON YOU!

I’m torn. Sometimes this place is a 3, and others, a 4.5. The varieties of pizza are really great, with anything from a puttanesca pie to BBQ chicken to eggplant parm to even tikka masala pie. Sometimes the crust is perfect, with the right amount of bite. And sometimes it’s soggy and flaccid. If you’re a gambling man or woman, give it a go.

We tried to order a couple of large cheese pizzas for delivery right in the Kendall Square area – less than half a mile away! We were told we should have the pizza in 30 min., but after waiting nearly an hour, we were delivered the wrong pizzas! The delivery guy had two XL pizzas with things on them that we didn’t request. Given they were asking us to pay the full price for these pizzas they messed up, we gave them back their pizzas – they said they would make new ones, but we decided take our business elsewhere!

WE ordered pizza to be delivered to the royal sonesta hotel. THey were 45 min late– the driver said he was waiting outside for me– I think he could have walked into the lobby to let me know he was there. They overcharged my credit card by $ 50. When I called the owner, he said– «Oh it is the credit card company– they always do that– give them a week and they will take it off.» They never did and I am going to call the owner again tomorrow.
BE very careful here. Only pay cash!!!

The quality of the food has deteriorated. It used to be so much tastier.
Like Alex K., I too was annoyed by the driver telling me to go outside and get the food. Um, no!
Called today and asked if the driver could come up to my door. And I was asked well how big is your order. Really? With all the competition around here you’re gonna do there?! I said no, it’s ok. I’ll order from somewhere else.
I highly suggest paying in cash! If not at all!
I do not recommend this place at all and won’t be going there. Any good suggestion?

I order Beauty’s often for work engagements and I have to say that their pizza gets the most compliments.
I also recently discovered they have a GF option as well!

The pizza is ok, but the delivery driver insists on calling me from his car to come downstairs and retrieve my pizza from him. I didn’t order delivery to have to get dressed and walk up and down the 3 flights of stairs.
After 1 such instance, I stiffed him on the tip. That’s right, delivery man, no tip for making me work. Then I looked at my credit card bill and noticed that they charged me $ 3 for tip. I’ll never eat there again.

Somebody on Unilocal told me to eat this pizza and I am not happy about it.
Do yourself a favor and eat someone else’s pizza.

I order from the once a week or so. They are dependably better-​than-​not-​gross pizzawise, which is about 2 steps above anybody else who will deliver to central.
The Capicola Francesca pizza is my personal go-​to, but it’s all goodish. Some kinda feta/​spinach/​olives thing? Alright. Mexican pizza WTF beats me but there’s beans on it, which I can dig. Straight up just mushroom if you’re Andrei. He’ll eat the whole thing! Sausage? Yeah, cool.
Fresh vegetables, meats that taste meatish. Thinnish crust, tomato-​y sauce, cheese that does not taste or feel like rubber. it’s better than bad; it’s good!
Sandwiches are less good. Salads are regular sub-​shop fair. Chicken wings are oversides and tasty but the breading is soggy.
One year+ of more than satisfactory pizza. They’ll be back. To my apartment. With pizza. Today probably, now that I’m thinking about it.

Beauty’s Pizza delivered 22 pies to my office today. 22 glorious gourmet pizzas. I only had 4 slices. Well I have three more on my plate, but that’s neither here nor there.
We got, the buffalo chicken, the americana, some mushroom stuff, gluten free, hawaiian, meat lovers… basically every pizza
they had.
The sleeper hit for me was the arugala cheese pie. WOWZA. That’s all. Just. WOWZA.
It was awesome. Nice thin crust, not too saucy, not too dry. As a pizza aficianado this place gets my stamp of approval.

If the only thing that happened when we ordered from Beauty’s was a simple delivery of their pizza, this review would be a 3. The pizza was okay. It did the job. It filled me up and wasn’t bad, but nothing to write home about, nothing I’d recommend if someone was asking for good pizza. Forgettable, but good enough on the snowy day when we ordered it. However, that’s not all that happened. The delivery debacle we dealt with was incredibly frustrating.
At first we were really pleased with the delivery. We’d done the order online and paid ahead of time, and the delivery showed up in half the time that we were told. We opened it up, noticed they’d put broccoli on the pizza, which we weren’t expecting, shrugged and decided to eat some anyway. Most of the stuff we saw on the pizza matched what we ordered. We were a couple of bites in before we realized that it was definitely the wrong pizza. Wrong crust, some missing toppings. It had quite a bit wrong, but it was close enough and we’d already started eating, so figured we’d just deal.
Then came a knock on the door. The delivery guy was there, and he asked if we got the right pizza, because he thought he brought us the wrong one. We told him no, we realized after we started eating that it was wrong. He asked, «You already ate some?» We said yes, it was wrong, but we already ate some. So he just said, «Okay,» and walked away.
Okay? Okay what? Okay you’re going to get the right pizza for us? Okay we’re going to have to deal with the wrong pizza because we ate some already? We had no idea. So we waited for a bit before eating any more to find out if he was coming back. After five minutes he didn’t, so I called, just to find out what’s going on.
The owner told me that the driver had taken the wrong pizza, but that he had the right one now and was on his way there, and that the driver was going to have to pay for the pizza because of his mistake. That seemed like extraneous information, but whatever. Apparently we were going to get our pizza anyway.
About ten minutes later, the driver shows up with our pizza. «That’s going to be $ 8. You get it for half the price because of our mistake.»
Now, at this point, no one had ever asked them to bring us the right pizza. If the driver had never come back, we weren’t going to complain, we were fine with what we got. Now we’re supposed to pay for the driver’s mistake because we took a bite before noticing the pizza was wrong? The driver called the restaurant and gave me the phone, and the same guy who told me the driver had to pay for the pizza was now telling me he was giving me a deal because I only had to pay $ 8 for it.
I was so annoyed by the whole situation that I just told the guy on the phone that I wasn’t going to pay for someone else’s mistake, and they could just keep the pizza. He told me to give the phone to the driver, who then just shoved the pizza at me and stormed off.
Honestly, even free, the pizza wasn’t good enough to be worth the stress of getting it in the first place. Will not be ordering from Beauty’s again.

The other reviewers seem to love the food here. Guess I’m the oddball. Oh well.
I do NOT like the pizza at this place. I find it tasteless, like a frozen pizza, and the pepperoni is just plopped on top and not baked in. Yeck.
The owners and staff are VERY, VERY nice. That’s what the 2 stars are for.
Also, what kind of pizza/​sub shop doesn’t have hamburgers/​cheeseburgers? This one.

The address on urbanspoon is incorrect, not sure why my fiancée was using that anyways. I think the Unilocal address is correct though. This caused us a little trouble, but by no means is it Beauty’s fault.
Anyways, pizza was great, they gladly substituted pork for another meat option in their New Orleans Cajun. The sauce is a bit sweet, tastes almost like BBQ sauce, but doesn’t have the smokiness flavor to it, which of course is nice considering it is a pizza. Crust was pretty good as well, but the middle of the pizza was a bit soggy. Price isn’t too bad either for what you get, the specialty pizzas are worth it in my opinion.
Driver got a little lost on the way to our address. A little disappointing, because I never have trouble getting here with Google maps.
