This diner is an excellent local find in Cambridge. I’m a diner fan and this is one of my Top 3. Excellent spot for a late recovery breakfast in Sunday on your way out of town. Excellent corned beef hash and super friendly service. Also hard to go over $ 9 – 10 total per person.

So glad we found Cindy’s on our way from Assateague National Park to Annapolis. Lots of locals, including the sheriff, were there for lunch. This one’s a candidate for Guy Ferreri’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives show. I had a Reuben sandwich«just like my mama used to make». Husband had awesome navy bean and ham soup and a very tall club sandwich with extra tasty bacon. Daughter had a piled high club salad with the house dressing. Plenty to eat for all. Lots of interesting relics mounted on the walls to look at during the short wait. Our server was very helpful and friendly. It was fun listening to the local chit chat while we ate. Good stop along highway 50.

When in Cambridge, eat at Cindy’s! Homemade breakfast. Delicious home fries. Flat pancakes could use some work but the ham was yummy. Local flavor and friendly service. Made us out-of-towners feel comfortable and welcome.

Amazing breakfast and great people. So glad we decided to eat here instead of at the Hyatt Chesapeake where we were staying. Food was so much better at Cindy’s, cool little breakfast spot, and great prices. Will be back when we come out here again.

This place is a throwback to the 70s, very local crowd, family run owned and operated. Ice tea by the gallon good scrapple,(if you don’t know what this is keep driving to oc ‚) sausage gravy and chipped beef are all on the menu, good bfast, good lunch, and always decent dinner specials. If you want fancy this ain’t it, Bfast is 8 bucks Don’t matter what you get its 8 bucks with a drink. Prime rib special is always good and if you hit it right they have some good muskrat on a rare occasion. And yes that’s good as well. From a food perspective it’s decent, culturally speaking it’s off the charts, oh btw be a little gruff with the staff there used to it, and your getting that treatment from them like it or not, The one girl there I think did the mayonnaise commercial that the guy says«I said no mayonaise» and the waitress scrapes it off on the side of the table. anyway this is a must see its rudunculous! !!! Also it’s mandatory you drive a pickup truck and have a lab or a coon dog with you or both, they have a massive 9 inch flat-screen in the corner as well, so if we are attacked by Germany again we should hear about it right about now from the first attack, just say in there a little behind, enjoy!!!

I can’t honestly say ‘as good as it gets’ — but for what it is, it is certainly 5 stars. We knew(from Unilocal) that this was a dive with great food. And what we found was… drum roll, please … a dive with great food! We weren’t looking for fancily folded napkins and white tablecloths. We sat at the bar and devoured our breakfasts, which were absolutely delicious. Service was good and prices were reasonable. My son said the bacon was the best he’s ever had — and I had to agree, so we got another order. We would definitely go back here if we’re in town again — there simply aren’t that many GOOD choices in Cambridge!

The shepherd’s pie was amazing. The meat was so tender! It was among the best SPs i’ve ever had, and i’ve had some good ones. Just meat & mash, nothing fussy, but a delicious flavor. Highly recommend it. The corn nuggets were tasty. The stewed tomatoes were on the sweet side for me, but that’s just me; i’m sure most folks like em sweet. This was a random treat for me, but i’m definitely adding this place to my faves for the next time i’m out this way!

My mom is Cindy, I’m one of the waitresses here and I have to say reading all your reviews is SOSO sweet! Mom and I were just reading them over the phone to each other and it’s so awesome to see all of y’all from all these different cities and states passing threw our little town and ending up at our place; we just love it! We have been there for almost 15 years and I’ve gotta say I have seen more«new» faces this summer then any other one. We enjoy having«new» people more then you know and my sisters and I are so grateful Mom has turned Cindy’s Kitchen into such a love able place, and we’ve been able to please so many people. It’s a great feeling and a very reward able thing to hear! Thank you all soooo much!

Great little country place popular with the locals. I had a huge plate of corn fritter pancakes and scrapple for $ 8. Absolutely delicious. Lovely old farm tool décor. Waitress was very pleasant. The place has so much character. Can’t wait to go back again on my next trip«downy ocean hon».

A classic breakfast place! Delicious food. Clean. Good value. I had a 3-egg omelet with home fries and toast for $ 8. Quick and easy. Will definitely return the next time I’m in the area. Highly recommended!

All the good things people have previously said are true. This place is a tucked away jem. And the exterior when you approach makes you think you’re in «Mayberry». The portions were huge and delicious. I only ate ½ of what was served. When l was there, there were 2 ambulances crews and 2 state troopers. As an EMT for 26 years l can honestly tell you to never pass an establishment that has a strong emergency services following. They need good food at a good price. This place hits it right on target!

Best chipped beef I’ve had in a restaurant(and I’m really fond of chipped beef). My husband, whose best compliment is «it was ok») had his very favorite, corned beef hash. He listed the ingredients and said they really did prepare it right(amazing compliment). The décor made us really feel comfortable and the staff very nice. Well worth the 1 minute detour off rt 50. We will definitely come by whenever in the area.

Just had lunch here and it was sooooo good! We had a club sandwich and chicken salad sandwich for $ 16. Much better than the $ 16 we spent on crappy crab dip at our hotel! Will be going back again tomorrow.

I’m not a regular cuz I don’t live here. Wish I was. Good olé’ down home cookin’. Home fries are amazing! Bacon, egg, & cheese bagel melted in my mouth. Lots of friendly locals. Lucky people to have a place like this where everyone knows your name.

5 Stars in the Diner genre. We eat there as often as possible. My kids adore it. Home cooked seasonal local fare — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and I have had them all. Breakfast portions are so generous that I almost always skip the home fries because I cannot finish the meal if they are included. Folks visiting from outside the small and exclusive Scrapple Belt can get their scrapple fix here. Only thing I can’t get here that I’d like to have is grits. Other local places have it. I also find others’ comments on high prices misinformed; you get a ton of food for your money here, and it is home made. This is a heavy locals place and Dorchester County is not a 1%er type of area. And you will see all walks and colors here. Usually several cop cars out front, and you know they like a good deal. Cindy’s is on a side road, Airey’s road, right next to route 50, South of Cambridge. Road is well marked. Worth a stop. Especially when Muskrat is in season. Only place I have ever seen that critter on the menu. Extreme Locavores take note. Service is always friendly and attentive, as it is most likely either Cindy or her daughters taking care of you.

We ate here on our weekend visit to the waterfowl festival. 5 stars not for an elaborate menu but for really really good, down home food, made fresh onsite. The service was incredible. Felt like a local and wanted for nothing! I wish I ate carbs so I could review the sweet potato pancakes! Round two for breakfast tomorrow!

This was a fun pit stop on our way to Baltimore. We chose it based on the Unilocal reviews. Large variety of home cooked meals on the menu with daily specials. The service was great and the décor was fun. The food was average. Better than fast food and good prices. BUT, when I went to the bathroom I saw the meatloaf and gravy in warmers exposed(with flies flying around) right next to the bathroom!!! That’s when my 3 – 3.5 star meal went down to 2. But, I’ve decided to be fair and give it a three because of the great service and decent food.

Off the beaten path; hole in the wall; home style cooking. Unilocal’d this one on the way to OC. Took a chance with only 8 reviews and it was a homerun. The restaurant is located off route 50 and beside a cemetery. That’s right, beside a cemetery! That does not matter, it’s the service and food that counts. Highly recommended.

Food was tasty but over priced… I got a cheeseburger very good but a little greasy(who didn’t see that coming though) My side of home fires cost me 2 bucks and I got about 1⁄3 of a spud. REALLY? I pay 2 bucks give me some home fries. Chipped Beef was 7 bucks, okay flavor and relatively small. Turkey sandwich was great and only 4 bucks. Maybe they are catering to the 1% since they have a signed photo of John Boehner. Amazing how people in rural areas are fooled into voting against their best interests. Way to go republicans, tell middle class people to blame poor people so that they can protect rich people. haha
