I originally gave this place one star, but they have since greatly improved. The staff is much friendlier now and they have improved on their process and food. Breakfast sandwiches are really good, especially since I can never seem to get a soft boiled egg right. Popovers are my go to and I can go home and make some eggs and bacon to go with it. Hibiscus Tea is refreshing. They mark on the menu if the ingredients have recently been changed so those with allergies are aware.

Love the chickpea fritter sandwich. If you have never been to clover they are awesome! They use a lot of fresh ingredients that are in season and they also have a couple of local beers on tap. They make their own sodas which are pretty unique and they are eco friendly. Nothing but great things to say about them. Keep it up guys.

Just stopped in for a coffee previous to an appointment, but was completely struck by the lemon dimension of the Four Barrel brew from San Francisco, and also the bold, friendly, glad-to-know-ya attitude of the cashier. I returned, and have now had both the Brussels sprout sandwich and the Venezuelan plantain. Both fresh and memorable. 100% worth a trip. Small suggestion: I understand Clover’s desire to honor their food cart roots, but would offering a plate with sandwiches really harm the mojo?

This place was just a delight! Fresh, delicious food; friendly service; great prices; and a commitment to the community and the environment. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

This location is pretty slow during peak demand times, but we keep coming back nonetheless because the people are friendly and enthusiastic. And those popover sandwiches are unreal.

After my initial review, folks from Clover reached out to me via Unilocal with a very sincere apology and the offer of a couple free breakfast sandwiches plus invitation to a customer breakfast event. I was impressed not only with the response and care I received but with the breakfast sandwiches as well(and have been back on my dime as well). Tasty, healthy, fresh. The coffee is good as well, although every cup i’ve had has had a unique tartness. I’m not sure this is a critique, but worth noting. In any case — I think it’s safe to say that my initial experience was a fluke and not the norm. I’ve enjoyed every experience at Clover since the first and will be back again.

While the service here is incredibly friendly and fast, the food is just A-OK. My main annoyance is the difference between the chickpea fritter sandwich and the chickpea fritter platter. The platter is supposed to be the sandwich deconstructed minus the pita. The sandwich is fantastic and an especially good choice if you are quite hungry and can eat it all in one sitting. It does not keep well as all the ingredients make the pita extremely soggy. The platter on the other hand was a massive disappointment. The chickpea fritters that are so big and tasty in the sandwich are much smaller in the platter, so much so that they burnt and were painful to eat. On top of that the were over salted. The pasta that replaced the pita of the sandwich was tasty and too small to compensate for the fact that the only edible things in the platter were the pickled onions and the tablespoon of hummus. It is a shame because the platter is an excellent take-away and save for later option. It also does not help that it is more expensive than the sandwich. Overall: Stick to the sandwich if you are hungry. Note:(1) One positive is that pretty much all the utensils and to-go boxes are compostable!(2) The establishment is very clean and gets plenty of light(3) Despite Unilocal’s claim, this location does NOT have free wifi.

Clover keeps it fresh. Fresh ingredients, fresh menu items. I can always expect seasonal, bold, fun new sandwiches with them! If they can keep adding new amazing flavors like the one in their latest, the Sharan, I will come back over and over until I die. The Sharan is an Indochinese sandwich that doesn’t hold back on heat, is super flavorful and has a great spice profile with depth. Packed with cauliflower, delicious lime slaw, fried rice noodles and pepper spread — goodness I’m already thinking of when to get it again! I hope they keep it permanently. Another fave sandwich that I hope rotates back in is the parsnip! So good. Staples like the chickpea fritter aren’t a bad way to go but it’s fun trying new fare. Mezze platter is good if you’re going light on carbs although mixing and matching your fave sides might be a better choice once you know what you like. They switch up the soda flavors often and offer interesting flavors you typically don’t find elsewhere — mango and pineapple are great! Sample if you’re not sure. Coffee in the morning is solid and their popover sandwiches rock! And the simple popover itself is a delicious puffy treat. Service at this location is great and the staff give it a community feel.

Good, healthy food. Wish they weren’t out of the BLT half the time. Great customer service although it’s a little annoying when they ask for your name and then repeat it like 5 times: «Can I get your name for the order?» «Sean» “Thanks, Sean” «Can I get you anything else, Sean? «No, thanks» «Ok, Sean, your order will be right up» «Thanks you» «You’re welcome, Sean»

The food is organic, fresh and delicious! The customer service is outstanding. Jonathan took my order, was patient and explained the menu. I ordered an eggplant & egg sandwich. He said it would take a few minutes and I told him I’d go wait outside with my girlfriend and dog. When my order was done, Jonathan ran across the street to give me my food. A rare customer service gesture in today’s world. I highly recommend Clover for anyone who’s a vegetarian or looking for something lighter to eat.

Pros: affordable, tasty, fast, vegetarian Cons: plastic fork and knife, fast food style Clover is a vegetarian fast food style café with a few vegan options. The service is friendly and the food is quite tasty. I did have to eat with a plastic fork and knife, however. I can recommend the chickpea fritter and the rosemary fries. Unfortunately, the BBQ seitan was not as good as I hoped.

As a «carnivore» I will say that eating at a vegetarian establishment can always be a bit scary; you never really know if the food is going to be some bland tasteless mush. Clover is amazing, and true carnivores will leave full and satisfied by their fresh and flavorful food! My husband and I tried the Mezze Plate and Fries with Rosemary. The portions were generous, and the flavors were fantastic! Some of the freshest and tastiest hummus and French fries I have ever had! The lady who took our order was very sweet, and our food was prepared in a manner of a few minutes! I can’t wait to go back and try more on the menu. I am also extremely excited to hear that they will be making their own pita bread in house for their numerous trucks and locations!

Overall I love the atmosphere and the service. Clover is next door to my job so it’s a hop over whenever I need a quick bite. The space is large and industrial reminding me of coffee shops in San Francisco’s Soma district. I absolutely love their homemade soda’s– especially the spearmint and vanilla. I’ve only tried the chickpea fritter, fries and BBQ seitan food items. While I love the fritter and fries, I couldn’t finish the seitan because it reminded me of spam, due to its wet and compact canned cat food-like comsistency which turned me off. Although the BBQ flavor was ok, I just had no desire to finish it and only ate the fries. Other notes: Metered street parking Plenty of seating. Inviting bright and sunny interior. Provided roll of paper and crayons for the artistic types. Very friendly and helpful staff. No online menu to view, but they have a really cool blog.

My friend was so adamant that we tried Clover. I was indifferent about it only because we had eaten so much at brunch. So we somehow got there and we ordered the chickpea sandwich and rosemary fries. We shared the one order among the three of us. It was amazing I tell you. It was so light, crisp and a burst of healthiness. lol. I wish there was a Clover in LA. The workers are so helpful and friendly. We sat there for an hour. The interior is very cute and modern.

Clover is the best! Blue Bottle coffee alone makes this place a must… but wait, there’s more! I had the egg plant and egg sandwich and it was so good. The sandwich was taking a while and everyone was so nice, they gave me all kinds of free food while I waited(and the wait wasn’t bad at all). The service can’t be beat! I love that Clover is doing so well in the Boston area, I wish nothing but success to this outstanding establishment. Oh, I’ve heard rumors that the owner is a BU grad as well!

I’m absolutely amazed that the reviews are so positive for this place. I consistently have a mediocre food experience here, as well as a terrible customer service experience. Sadly, it’s the closest place to where I work that turns around fast food, and I often have to choose between no lunch or going here. It’s a great motivator for remembering to pack my own lunch. One of my worst experiences here was when I ordered the plantain sandwich, but asked if they could put the ingredients on one of their platter trays instead of inside of the pita. Clover serves up a lot of platters, so I figured this would be no problem at all. I don’t eat bread, and I routinely ask restaurants of all kinds to do this. I’ve never had any pushback, until it came to Clover. The staff huddled together to discuss my request, and then one of them rudely proclaimed that they couldn’t do it. The guy taking my order looked embarrassed, but told me that they needed to get«authorization from corporate headquarters» in order to serve a sandwich without the bread. Huh? Am I in the Twilight Zone? The guy offered to have them make the sandwich and then put it into a to-go platter container so that I could dismantle it myself, which is what I ended up doing. Today was another of my worst experiences, and I won’t be going back here again. I ordered the plantain sandwich again(those fried plantains are delicious, despite the bad service!) and this time skipped over asking for the no-bread option, since I knew the answer would be no. Instead, once I received my sandwich wrapped in deli paper, I simply asked if I could get one of the cardboard to-go platter containers to take with me. The girl behind the counter looked at me like I was crazy and said, «Sorry, we don’t give those out.» I asked if I could pay for one, since I needed it to take apart my sandwich to eat it without the bread. She bluntly told me no, they couldn’t do that. These arbitrary rules have driven me right out the door of this place. I hope someone in corporate sees this and realizes how their insanely poor customer service policies are driving people away.

I’m here on average once a week. How can I resist? Everything is so healthy [-seeming]. With a meat-free menu and an emphasis on local produce, Clover kicks it up a notch with tasty sandwiches and platters that rarely disappoint. If you’re looking for something nutritious and filling, but don’t want to shlep down to Whole Foods for a prepared dish, try Clover instead. I’m a fan of the egg and eggplant sandwich or the brussel sprout sandwich. The brussel is seasonal, so for the love of your tummy, get some before it’s gone! Fried brussel sprouts and dijon sour cream? Yes please and thank you. The french fries here are also yummy; always perfectly salted, and I love the crispy bites of rosemary sprinkled throughout. I’ve heard good things about the CSA and the breakfast menu, but have yet to try either. I’ll admit, there’s room for improvement in the customer service area, but you win some, you lose some.

I like Clover’s emphasis on local ingredients and their pristine, sterile appearance. Everything on the menu looked great but the Brussels sprouts sandwich sounded amazing: fried Brussels in a pita with pickled red cabbage, toasted hazelnuts, and a creamy aioli. The friend I was with said she had one yesterday. She liked it but she thought it was a tad dry, and recommend ordering with some extra sauce. I took her advice and asked if I could get mine with extra aioli, but my request was denied, even though I said I’d pay extra. The sandwich was very good — I loved how the smoky, charred sprouts paired with the briny cabbage and the crunch of the hazelnuts — but she was right: it was on the dry side. Still, pretty good for $ 6. The Inman Square location even had two draft lines with local(of course) nano brews. When I was there it was Somerville’s Pretty Things and Framingham’s Jack’s Abby. I like Clover. I’m partial to All-Star Sandwich Bar down the street but if I saw the truck around town then I would definitely take advantage.

Clover continues to impress me. I stopped by here this weekend for a breakfast sandwich with a friend who was in town visiting. When we first arrived, I was a bit disappointed to find that they weren’t yet serving their lunch menu – as two active guys we have massive appetites and I had sold my friend on my story of Clover’s great food platter deals. When each ended up choosing to go with Clover’s breakfast sandwich, which was a par-boiled egg on a pita with sliced tomatoes. While rather boring sounding, I must commend them on the simple delight they’ve concocted for their breakfast menu. $ 3 seemed entirely reasonable for the dish and it was far better, healthier, and satisfying than anything we could’ve picked up at say Dunkin’ Donuts. He applauded Clover’s fair prices, so I was happy that I didn’t let my friend down with my depiction of their quality food at reasonable prices. One tip: the breakfast sandwich is even better with Siracha!
