Good short track course(shorter than Madison Speedway) with food vendors and clean bathrooms. There are flea markets/swap meets on Sunday, very busy from what we saw. Some areas of the facility seemed to be literally held up by tape and strings. You can make a day of it by going to Wedl’s hamburger stand and going to the drive-in theater nearby.

Okay, I’ll admit, I was highly skeptical of what I would see. I was pleasantly surprised though. If you get there early, say 6pm, you can score some great seats and you can bring in beverages and snacks(no Subway, haha — or glass bottles… or alcohol), but it’s a nice gesture to make it a family night out. There’s the stadium seating that you expect at a speedway, but there’s also grass seating along the first turn. Food was your standard concession food and yes, beer is available. The announcer was a lot of fun and really got into his role, made it fun and family friendly. I went during their«Tournament of Destruction» and man, did they ever have creative racing ideas. Partners drove around giving a ‘love tap’ to each other after each lap, signaling their partner to go. Or the ‘Chain Race’ where one car drove forward and the other car was attached in reverse bumper to bumper with their partner — if the chain broke, you’re out. And quite possibly my favorite — racers had to complete a 360 before they finished a lap — mayhem ensued. I’d go again, not for an endurance 250 lap race, but for the destruction for sure!

This track is what short track racing is all about in Wisconsin. And I do mean short. It is family fun on a Saturday night. The racing here is good with many different classes. This is real grass roots racing. Many of the racers that raced here in the past have gone on to bigger racing series.
