Nice dinner. Crab imperial over rockfish with wild rice. Nice glass of Clean Slate Riesling. Very informal place. Good service.

We were very happy with our meal here. Although the crab cake was tiny for $ 26(and tasted the same as any we’d get in Jersey) we ordered the chicken nachos and they really filled us up. Excellent choice for appetizer. Kids meals were decent and reasonably priced. Service was excellent… very accommodating.

Good food good service friendly place. If you want soup and a sandwich keep it simple try the shrimp salad on toasted rye with a cup of cream crab soup.

This place had a really awesome cover band and it was certainly a fun place to get some food and drinks. They have a super impressive beer list. I started off with some really delicious crab dip; but things got worse from there. I had some pretty disappointing seafood. The steamed seafood was all a bit overdone and chewy. So, for the quality, it felt very overpriced. Additionally, the service was super slow. All-in-all, it’s a fun place. Stick to some drinks and lower priced items and you’ll be just fine.

Good not great. There are better options in Cambridge, but for a beer and a crabcake you could do worse. Often have live music which tends to be better than one would expect from a local place. Service tends to be slow, the crowd loud and difficult to move through, mostly a large group of regulars. Cheese fries are excellent as is the price for a Boh

Had dinner here last night. Very low-key, family-oriented place. We all had a nice meal and the device was fantastic!

The lump crabcake sandwich was over priced, $ 29, the cost of a two lump crabcake dinners elsewhere. Didn’t realize I had ordered the expensive one, as the waitress didn’t inform me of my switch in order, until the check came. The seafood cocktail sauce seemed fresh, dipped my fries into it. Wait staff need to be more informative.

Love this place! I was in town for business looking for great crab cakes. I found them here and the cream of crab soup was exceptional. I hope I get to go back one day.

What a fabulous lunch spot! My love had the roasted romaine salad topped with rockfish and I had the lump crab and goat cheese salad. Wow! We started with an order of Jimmie Bites that were perfect in every way. We also had an order of hush puppies that were made the way hush puppies should be made. Service was exceptions!

Good food in a lovely space. Service is attentive. Food is decent but not spectacular and a bit pricey in my opinion. Ingredient are fresh and the execution is good. Overall, an enjoyable experience.

Stick to the«bar fare» like the wings. The tuna and the salmon were both painfully over cooked(I requested rare as it was described as sushi-grade) and the calamari sauce had ½lb of sugar in it. Skip dinner and grab ice cream next door at Gina’s.

I think the kitchen staff was hungover today. I am normally very positive but I left Jimmy and Sooks baffled. Apps: Ordered hush puppies that arrived still frozen in the middle, no big deal, sent them back to fry a little longer. Came back hot and bartender was apologetic. Didn’t come with any condiments. Beer selection was very good. Lunch: wife ordered a Caesar salad with a crab cake on top, turns out that was $ 28!!! Must have had diamond flakes mixed with the lump. The crab cake entrée cost less and included an additional crab cake so naturally I was confused by this logic. I ordered a chicken cheese steak. Came served with cold French fries. I started eating the sand which and to my surprise mixed with the chicken was chunks of salmon. How did salmon get in my chicken sandwich??? Again, bartender was very nice, apologetic and took it back to the kitchen. My wife finished her $ 30 side salad while I waited 10 – 15 minutes for my new sand which that arrived on a small bread plate with no French fries! I was too confused and didn’t want to bother the bartender anymore so I just ate quickly asked for the check, paid and left. They did comp me $ 10 which was ok I guess. Just baffled by my experience because others seemed to enjoy it.

We were a party of 8 big foodies. We always keep an open mind coming into any establishment. Restaurant was only ¼ full and service was very very slow. Oysters were not shucked properly, it took forever to get them. When our entrees finally arrived they forgot one. Said it would be about 10 mins before we would get it. Plenty of other restaurants in town, I would go to one of them.

UNSATISFACTORY, UNPROFESSIONAL and UNDERMINING is just a few words I use to describe our experience with Jimmie & Sook’s. We recently hosted a family dinner & birthday event at this restaurant, and we regret giving them our business and money! Despite our efforts to stay in constant contact with management and provide them with ALL of our needs well in advance, it was apparent through the service we received that the business is suffering from poor management. The servers were polite, personable and it appears as though they genuinely want to do a good job; however, they are under developed, not valued and seemingly some are over worked. UNSATISFACTORY We had a prix-fixe menu for our family dinner and provided the restaurant with each attendees order a week in advance. We waited an hour for our food to arrive at the table, the meals were OK(my sweet potato was burned), and instead of offering us bread while we waited, a server brought us a bowl of crackers to share 10 minutes before our food arrived. Also, there were individuals arriving in the restaurant after our party that were served their food before we received our orders. We were told we could arrive when the restaurant opened to set-up the catering room for the birthday party. However, when we arrived the catering room was not cleaned from a party held the night before, and we were left to clean up prior to set up for our event. The alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages were water down. Even the ginger ale tasted like seltzer water with honey — yuk! UNPROFESSIONAL Prior to the event day we paid in full for the catering room, the balance due at the end of our event was only for dinner. Although we had several conversations with the manager on duty about how displeased we were with dinner, he stated that he had only worked at Jimmie & Sook’s for three days and had not yet been trained on how to log into their POS system to enter orders or provide customers with a refund or discount. He explained to us that he knew nothing about our event, that the night of our event was the first time he had seen our contract. UNDERMINING What the manager on duty was able to offer us for all the inconvenience we suffered was coupons to Applebee’s, the restaurant he use to manage, and tell us that he would have never set-up our event the way it was set-up by the person in charge of events. As a matter of fact, the manager on duty stated that we would have had a buffet style dinner, which we never knew was an option. I give this restaurant one stars because patronize them??? NO, NOTEVERAGAIN!!! also, because Unilocal won’t allow me to post this entry without giving a rating. If I could I’d give Jimmie & Sook’s NOSTARS!

Food is amazing, large open atmosphere with exposed kitchen. Staff is friendly and very eager to please. Food is freshly prepared, crab dip is amazing. Dined with 5 people and various selections were chosen, all were very good. We went back for lunch a day later. Lunch was perfect.

I came into town for the eagleman 70.3 and my family and I were looking to eat a good meal right before the big race. This restaurant came up for a good review and I’m so upset to say this has been the worst restaurant of the trip this far. TERRIBLEANDPOORSERVICE!!! Do not come here. Just terrible

Been here a couple times now. Both times sat at the bar and drink water. Got crab both times. BOTH Times was excellent!!! This is the place to compare others crab to. First time was a crab club sandwich. Was not on menu this time, new summer menu was out. Got crab cake and wow. I can not say enough about the bartender also. Andy I think. Ran his butt off to make sure everyone was happy. They were out of tshirts on this visit but I will be back!!!

I came to eat here alone and got a margarita and then seafood nachos. They were both delicious and the server was incredibly friendly and checked on me often. I would definitely come back.

Had the hoytee toytee crab cake. It’s a small but delicious cake. Apple sauce tasted like pie filling(). Fries were basic. Loved the cream of crab soup! Fried seafood platter was small but everything was tasty. It was the perfect amount of food.

A buck a Shuck is what drew me in to this place. I was on the hunt for oysters. They were briny and plump. Just what I needed. The service was also fast and friendly. For dinner I had the surf and turf which was a rib eye and a crab cake. The crab cake was about the size you would put an a cracker and didn’t taste home made, the steak was just ok and the broccolli tasted like it has been cooked and reheated i.e. no crunch. For the over $ 30 price tag of the entrée I was a bit disappointed. I would probably go back for the oysters and cocktails next time I’m in Cambridge but not for the surf and turf.
