Joan Lorentz Park is an amazing park in front of the Main Library. It’s big, it’s well maintained, and a lot of different people congregate there. You’ll see people doing yoga, people playing Frisbee, people playing with their dogs, people reading, people catching some sun, and I’ve even seen a guy doing tightrope between trees. There’s plenty of room for all of it. I can walk there, so I don’t have to worry about parking. But there’s plenty of meters on the street, and it’s just a few minutes to walk to Harvard Square, so T access is good.

This park is hands-down one of my favorite things about my new neighborhood! Joan Lorentz Park is right outside the main branch of the public library. It has tennis courts, a playground for small kids, tons of benches, and a big open green space for hanging out. I love to hang out here on a nice day and people-watch. It’s one of the more pleasant open spaces in Cambridge that is not totally dominated by kids, and I love that. Bring a blanket and a snack(or stop into Broadway Market on your way over)!
