Mix Menu

I don’t think I can continue to use MixMenu anymore. I put in an order earlier in the day for a 6 PM delivery. I get a call at 6:04 pm from MixMenu telling me that the restaurant is closed due to an electrical outage and has not made our food. I was confused that MixMenu did not know this earlier. And I had a bunch of hungry people at home expected food at 6 pm. What a let down.

I didn’t see all these negative reviews until after I ordered my food, so I was pretty nervous. The food was 20 min late, but I had ordered delivery from Fenway to the Seaport at lunchtime so I’m 99% sure the delay was out of their control. At any rate, it only took 80 min from order to delivery which is still reasonable.
I’m not sure what happened to the other people who ordered, but the deliveryman came up to my office brought the food directly to me, in an insulated bag so it was still nice and warm. There were no issues with spilled or cold food.
I’m very happy with my experience using Mix Menu, especially considering I was able to order from a restaurant halfway across town that normally wouldn’t deliver to my office.

Very frustrating that I paid $ 57 plus tip for food from SOL AZTECA to be delivered like dog food. Bag leaked, entrée cold and all food pushed into one corner, plastic container of cabbage sliced and leaked. Food was cold too. mixmenu they were un apologetic and said all he can do was refund $ 15??? Really after food cost over $ 50 and I was inconvenienced. After a 13 minute would the un profesional MANAGER said he would re deliver and 1.5 later I get food. Very disa5 that service was not to par of their supposed standards and no apologies. Who compensates me fof inconvenience did I mention I’ve spebd hundreds of dollars with them and this is my service???

DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE EVER. They take more than hour every time, despite the food being ready. We called the restaurant that we had ordered from and the food was ready for 45 minutes before Mix Menu picked it up. AWFUL!

Terrible service. Our order was 30 minutes later than the estimated time. They somehow forgot to pick up the entire order from the restaurant, so we had to wait another hour for them to go back and get the rest of our order. Will not recommend.

This service automatically charges $ 4.99 for delivery– and then they are rude and careless.
The driver called from outside– not so uncommon. but when we opened the door, he didn’t come up to the door– he stayed in the street with his car!
we had ordered soup– and everything was wet at the bottom. and not very hot.
I am not very happy, and will avoid using this company again.

Not sure why my order was sidelined and delayed. I made an order for 8 people’s worth of food from a local Mexican restaurant for «today ASAP». I got a callback wanting to confirm whether my order was «for today». Weird no? Anyway, my order got delayed because of that. But the food did come exactly 45 min mins after the phone call as promised…
Also, the web ordering interface is kind of clunky since each item minimizes and you need to click a hundred things to just get an order in.

Excellent service! The good thing about MixMenu is that they work with tons of different restaurants all over Boston and Boston area. The website is very easy to use. The delivery guy came right on time and the price they charged me for the delivery was reasonable. I will definitely use them again for the future!

I’m sad that the very first review I’m writing on Unilocal is a bad one. But I think people should know how terrible their customer service was (the guy sitting at a desk somewhere taking calls), I wouldn’t want anyone else ending up in my situation!
I ordered from a restaurant that uses Mix Menu delivery. The order was placed at 8pm, and the email confirmation said it would be delivered at 9:20pm. 1 hour and 20 minutes?! So I called and asked if I could just cancel and pick it up myself. The guy at the desk was rude and said «we put the time like that so people would stop calling us about late delivery».
I told him maybe they should think about people who would rather cancel than get their food delivered this late. Then he went on to say that «it’s not our fault, it’s Foodler (the website I used) that puts time like that» even though he just said it was Mix Menu who deliberately did this to avoid angry calls. So I asked if my delivery fee could be waived, and he rudely replied, «no, that’s your issue with foodler, we’re not responsible». They charged me $ 5.99 for delivery, this isn’t the response I expect.
In the end, he sort of promised that the food will arrive before 9:20pm, and ended the conversation with «we’ll just deliver your food for today, but next time, use somebody else (meaning, some other delivery website). We don’t want to get calls like this again!». Wow.
Well, it’s 8:37pm now. We’ll see how long this really takes. And yes, next time, I will NOT use mix menu delivery again! Lesson learned :-(

NEVER EVER PAY IN ADVANCE IF MixMenu IS DELIVERING YOUR FOOD FROM ANYWHERE!
Finally a day off! Saturday night, UFC fights on tv, beer in fridge. Ordered some expertly prepared burgers and fries from tasty burger. Enter MixMenu, perhaps the only people in this city with the level of incompetence required to destroy a night like this. A small bag of food needs to be delivered 5 meager little blocks. MixMenu charges 5 bucks for this! MixMenu, a company who’s sole purpose of existence is to deliver food, turns in an unbelievable performance of just OVER 2 HOURS! MixMenu transforms a once great dinner into a bag of soggy cold mush which must be thrown in the garbage.
What a waste of $ 25.00 and over 2 hours!!! Thanks to MixMenu for being utterly incapable of doing one of the simplest jobs on earth.

Ordering from a ton of different restaurants sounds great, right? Well what if I told you that you could do it online? Even better.
The concept, fantastic. The execution, pretty good. The staff/​customer service, well… That leaves a lot to be desired.
There was a snafu with the order but when the driver had to wait a couple of minutes while I came downstairs to get the order he became incensed. He then began to berate me for the inconvenience (after 20% was already paid in tip). Then he shoved the food in my face spilling 2 entrée portions of phở. I only noticed this when I got back. I got half my dinner, double the dosage of attitude, and a side of incompetence from the customer service guy answering their phones.
In short, go with DiningIn, Foodler, or frankly anything else. Don’t waste your time with Mix Menu.

I called an indian restaurant at 10:10 pm on a Wednesday. They told me they were open but delivery was through Mix Menu and gave me their number. I called Mix Menu and they told me they were closed and I would have to find a restaurant that delivered it’s own food. Terrible service. Why have a delivery service that closes at 10pm? Why have a delivery service for restaurants that have their own delivery?

I love, love, love this service. I use them constantly when I’m ordering delivery. They’ve always been courteous and have always provided a very good service. The GREAT thing is that, with each order, a portion of the proceeds goes to Action Against Hunger. Fantastic service!

I ordered from Basta Pasta in Cambridge for the first time, the delivery driver arrived at my door 1 hour 15 minutes later… I live only five minutes away. He looked pretty pissed off, but he was still polite and he apologized for the delay even though its not his fault, waited 45 minutes at the place. He told me about how much he hates this particular restaurant just because of the bad attitude and rudeness of the guys who work there. All and all it was a good first experience for me.

Ok, every review I’ve done so far has been 4 stars. I swear I have discerning taste, you will see as I continue to rate things. Down in Atlanta we had a similar company called Zifty. Mixmenu is far superior in most ways.
Mixmenu is a website that allows you to order food (delivery or pickup) from a ton of local restaurants. The price ranges and delivery charges vary from place to place. There are many choices available which have no delivery fee. Some restaurants use their own delivery people, some use mixmenu’s. I think it’s great that they list restaurants using both types of delivery methods, not just a site for mixmenu deliveries.
The only negative I have found is the poor searching mechanism for the site, I find myself just browsing through when it would be simple to add an effective searching script into the existing site.

I used MixMenu this evening for the first time; placed a large order from ShabuYa in Harvard Square. The interface is simple to use and the selection of restaurants rivals DiningIn. They also deliver for a liquor store and a grocery store, and the price markup is not too crazy. The delivery guy called me 35 minutes after I placed the order to confirm my address, and arrived 5 minute later. Seems like a great service and I will definitely use them again!
