A friend suggested that we go to Phoenix Landing., I agreed. My 1st time there. I recommend the Dropkick(Guinness beer)!!!The best here at Phoenix Landing hands down.

This place is a total racket. Came here for some drinks around 9:45, place was dead yet there was still a $ 5 cover, they took all our bags without tagging them or taking names, the bartender rung me up for a Maker’s Mark cocktail when I asked her for a «bourbon Coke.» When I questioned her about it, she said they didn’t have anything cheaper… Except they had Jim Beam, so either you’re a shit bartender or you’re a crook. Like I know I’m wearing a blazer but that doesn’t mean you get to up-sell me for no reason. Won’t be back.

If it is Friday or Saturday night and you’re looking to dance to 90’s and early 2000’s top 40s hits all night, look no further than Phoenix Landing. It is important to note that Phoenix can be super sweaty and is never a good place to go if you’re looking to meet new people. That being said, I have had many fun nights dancing here with a group of friends. The crowd is definitely early to mid-twenties, very casual. The lines/cover charge can be pretty bogus. I have had the experience of waiting for 15+ minutes in a long line only to discover that the dance floor is nearly empty. I don’t appreciate that gimmick to look busier than they are. Bonus is that the Clover just next door is 24 hours, so you can dance and snack the night away!

Bartender was great. Boxing was on network tv(not ppv or cable). We requested they tune in and was told that they do not show boxing at this bar(per the owner). What kind of goofy fear-based policy is that? Well my wallet will not be dropping bills down at this bar.

Went here on a visit to Boston. Saturday night — tried to enjoy this place after seeing overall good reviews but this club is corny as a corn cob. They played backstreet boys and n’sync back to back. Weird dudes everywhere. Bouncer talked it up and required $ 5 cash cover. Not a fun time for anyone with musical taste. Left before I finished my beer.

Hmm… $ 5 cover charge apparently… showed up at 10:02 and the bouncer said it was $ 12 after 10:00, despite the fact that practically no one was in there– unprofessional. Obviously do not care about business. Will not go back. The only other time I’ve been I was hit on by creepy, sweaty dudes the whole time. The only time this place is worth going to is for Liverpool games at 7:30 on Saturdays.

Pretty good beer selection and well-priced, but the food really isn’t good. The nachos were… bad. Mediocre chips that were cold, served with a sprinkling of cheese not really melted well and stale iceberg lettuce. The quesadilla… not good. The burgers… meh. Good spot for trivia on Wednesday nights, though! Just plan to eat elsewhere or at home.

This is one of three real soccer establishments in Boston/Cambridge(Caffè Dello Sport and The Banshee). This is a Liverpool supporters bar. However there is a decent size group of Manchester United and Arsenal supporters who watch matches there too. Great atmosphere for big matches including derbies, World Cup qualifying, Copa America, etc. Very diverse crowd. Only negative is service can be slow especially when there is a big crowd.

Thursday nights are a drum and bass night called«Elements». The music is superb and they always bring in the top dogs in drum and bass from the US, the UK and beyond. I’ve seen S.P.Y., Aphrodite, Sigma, and Dieselboy just to name a few. The space is small, but they always do it big. Not to mention resident dj’s, Fox & Lenore, can always hold down court. The bar is okay, depending on your drink. I’ve had margaritas that tasted like nothing but the salty ocean. Then there are some cocktails that are perfect every time(try the Dropkick!) The bouncer is cool, the crowd is chill and the place is always vibing. A fav Thursday night spot! 19+

4 stars for the brunch and EPL soccer. Cool bar to watch a weekend soccer game(especially Liverpool) with a good crowd 2 stars for the nightclub. I’m tired of hearing early-00’s pop

I went during Trivia night and it’s wild. There were 20 teams and the place was packed and loud. It’s definitely a great place with a group. The drinks are great. I had the Moscow Mule and the Dark and Stormy and they were both better than average. I really like the vibe that goes with the drinks. The food was mediocre. I had a burger and fries. The burger was okay but it’s nothing spectacular. The fries were not good. It was bland and soggy. Overall I really liked my experience there. It was a lot of fun with a good atmosphere.

After reading the mostly positive reviews for this place, my friends who were visiting Boston and I decided to give this place a shot to grab a drink as most other places were closed. Our first mistake was going here on a Sunday. Everything else is dead in town except for the creepers were out on the prowl… They have several large TVs around so it would be good for Sports along with a dance floor that they start the music later at night. During the entire time I was with my friends there was a man who kept walking by us several times and telling and pointing out to us «That’s my son» from across the bar. Once we realized the music they were playing for 80s night wasn’t quite our jam we were ready to head home. On our way out one of the managers calls out to us, «Wait ladies!!! We are just about to put on the good music!» Nope, nope, nope! Too much creepy vibes for us for that one night. Maybe this place would be better on a weekend night, but I’m sure there are plenty of other options.

This is a dive bar, and I am not a dive bar person. They have some Bollywood nights, which is fun, but I am not about to stand in line outside in the cold just to get in. If you want to dance, this could be a good place. I have never been here for food, but maybe this is something I should try.

Update: The Phoenix landing has started using tablets for billing. When you ask for the check, the server swipes your credit card(s) and prints your receipt without ever leaving the table. This saves a lot of time. Seeing as how my biggest complaint was slow service, this definitely merits an increased rating.

Half price apps from 5−7PM on weeknights make this place my go-to Central Square after-work dive. Always has a good selection of beer on tap, and the waitresses are friendly and attentive.

Beer and pub food. If this is what you seek, Phoenix Landing should be a good fit. Popped in for a Friday lunch as we were exploring Cambridge. Enjoyed a couple beers at the bar and some sandwiches. The pesto chicken was ok, the side salad I ordered with it was very nice. It had a light vinaigrette that I enjoyed. A number of TVs so I assume this place is perfect for game watching. The bartender was friendly and efficient even though he was tending bar and waiting tables. This place would be great for a group, a good amount of space, and something on the menu for everyone.

I came for a football game, obviously very packed so I understand they’re busy. But I’d like to see you more than once. No one after the first time we sat asked us for anything. We waited and waited and had to fish someone down to get anything. Granted. It was packed. But once the game was done and there was only a handful of people. We’re still drinking. Still no one asking if we need anything. I’m watching the servers just stand and talk or go help other customers. We weren’t rude or anything, but we definitely felt forgotten. Other than the service. The brunch was delicious, I demolished my plate. Atmosphere is great, booze is good. It’s a nice place and I’d come back. Just hope next time they realize I’m there.

Phoenix Landing reminds me of Superman. Bear with me here. By day its unassuming Clark Kent. They serve traditional English Breakfast’s with a side of Guinness while you watch the Premier League at 10am. Their food is OK, their demeanor a little rowdy(if its a good game), and in general its pretty pleasant. But come nightfall Phoenix Landing rushes to the nearest phone booth, rips off its suit and tie and becomes a raging mess of flashing lights, pounding bass and cheap beer that has been dropped on the ground… OK so I lost the Superman metaphor but you get the idea. Overall I like both sides of Pheonix Landing, even if the evening crowd can be a little rediculous and the bouncers mostly seem pissed at everyone in the place.

Came here on a Saturday night in a big group. Several of us were visiting Boston and we wanted a place to dance in Cambridge because we were staying there. There was $ 5 cover and they won’t let you in if you are stumbling or look drunk. Once inside, drinks are cheap but the crowd not very good looking. The main ways I rate a bar/club is energy of dance floor and music. This place was mostly a dance floor which was cool but the music wasn’t great. It would change from something fun to 90s to Bollywood. I probably only liked 30% of the music. I would’ve preferred some EDM type music to dance to. The place has so much potential if they could just get DJs that can feel the crowd more and play better music! People also kept spilling drinks/dropping glasses. One of my friends was wearing sandals and got a huge gash on her foot from broken glass.

I’ve been here a couple times for after work debriefs, and it serves it’s purpose. Their happy hour menu has awesome deals on small plates(fish tacos and bacon croquettes for days– although I’m not sure how much bacon is really in them) and the drink menu, while not amazing, is sufficient. The service is mediocre, but not terrible. The first time we went– we had a large party and it was the waitress’ first day. She was super good to us, but things moved slow. The last time, it was fine but the waitress we had was quiet, and seemed sort of awkward about asking us if we needed anything, and I had to ask for a glass for my beer. It’s a little cramped in terms of access– the only time I brought my scooter here was when we were able to eat outside, but I don’t think my larger model would fit inside really without causing a disturbance about having to park it. I haven’t been here for dancing or the club scene so I can’t speak to that, but this is definitely a decent place to go to unwind after work. It definitely won’t make my top 10 though.

Been here a few times to watch Liverpool games early Sunday mornings — the inside is actually pretty big. The crowd gets a bit rowdy, but that’s to be expected with most sports. The brunch menu isn’t that extensive, and they always seem to be a bit understaffed during these games. This place is much better on a weeknight!

Over the past 5⁄6 years now. I have been coming to the«Phoenix Landing» and I have always loved coming down to «Elements» on a Thursday Night. It’s one of the few places in Boston that you can enjoy great Dj’s and Artists from all the around the world from many different record labels to come down on their tours to play a live set of Drum n Bass. That’s right Drum n Bass. If you’re not too keen on that then the«Phoenix Landing» has a variety of different music on different nights. I would check out their website on that. Just like the music, the food is very good and the drinks are reasonable. Two things to note though: First: is that if you want a waitress can be a little timely but not so much that would get you flustered. The tables are small do to it’s a small place but overall its ok. They get a lot of traffic and they do everything they can to get what you order. Second: Being that the«Phoenix Landing» is not just a bar/restaurant by day its also a night club by night. So when it comes time to party they remove some tables to make room for their costumers to dance like it’s no tomorrow. With that said, as for the seating goes. There is some tables left in the back and on the sides for people to put drinks down and still eat. If you’re coming in around 11am — 8pm you’re going to be fine. It’s when the place starts to get going later on that night when a show starts up. People mainly starts showing up around 9pm and by 10pm the show is starting. Depending on the show people might getting there by 8pm. You know, when you look at a place that has been around and been playing DnB for 15 or more years. They do a damn good job at keeping up the place and making it so when you walk in you’ll enjoy every last bit of it. When the music is not playing you can relax and have a nice drink then leave and walk around Cambridge. It’s a nice place and I love it. I hope you do too!

Any Boston-area establishment bold enough to call itself a restaurant dare not serve frozen fish for fear of angering the culinary gods, but alas, it was the best they could offer on this night.(Note to staff: that big blue thing to the east is the Atlantic Ocean. It’s got fish in it.) And if that wasn’t disappointing enough, the pre-fab, square fish patties were nestled in a bed of old, warmed-over fries. Egad. But as far as I can tell, the joint survives on the local nightlife and bar anyway, not the food. I escaped as the drinking crowd was just arriving, so maybe I missed the point of the place. According to legend, the mythological phoenix is said to return every 1400 years — to me, that sounds about right.

Pretty standard pub experience here. They show a lot of football games which is is cool and the place turns into a(super average) club after hours. The bartenders were all very nice when we went during the day. I haven’t eaten there and probably never will. As a club it was fine, decent music but nothing to phone home about.

I went here for a friends Bön Voyage gathering and when I got in, I thought it was pretty small to have a large gathering. My friend and I tried getting a seat at the bar but it was very congested so we stood at one end of the bar. It took the bar tender 10 – 15 minutes to even acknowledge us and take our order. There wasn’t a big selection of drinks but my friend and I just decided to have a beer. All the food and drinks here are reasonably priced but I would call it your average Cambridge bar! Finally our other friends arrived and put some tables together but by the time we all sat down, one of the staff members said he needed to take all of our chairs and tables away. It was kind of aggravating because we just got there and the music did not even start nor was it time to start getting ready for the dancing part of the evening! Once it came time for dancing, it seemed pretty spacious and you were able to move around! Within minutes they let more and more people in and now it was a mob scene of people on top of one another trying to dance. I am always enjoying myself when I dance and there are a lot of people but here I was miserable and could not wait to leave! This place is good for drinks during the day into the early evening but for dancing I would absolutely not recommend it!

This place is always entertaining. The cover charge is annoying — get there before 10pm and sit at the bar until the dancing starts. The drinks aren’t anything special and the food is your typical cheap-ish bar grub, but the music is good and the crowd is fun.

Happy hour every day 5−7pm! I love it. Calamari– little chewy but always tasty Wings– I always order them with the sauce on the side, super crispy and tasty Slider– tiny but good! I’ve also had the normal sized burger and the ruben, and both are pretty good. I usually come here for drinks but it’s better to come for beer than specialty drinks. Totally worth the prices and the bartenders are pretty friendly :).
