$ 7 for skate sharpening. Skaters edge is the pro shop at the Simoni Rink. You’ll find it just inside the entrance/lobby to the rink. Amazing friendly service and definitely know what he’s doing. Can be a long wait with how popular they are and their short opening hours. Sometimes they close a little early if they’re not busy(welp.) Def coming back for future skate sharpenings!

Steve at Skaters Edge provided me with the best skate sharpening I’ve ever had, but more importantly provided me with one of the best customer service experiences I’ve had anywhere in Boston. Bottom line, he simply knows what he’s doing with a skill that VERY few others in the area know about. And was extremely polite and pleasant. And oh yeah, he’s reasonably priced. $ 7 for a professional sharpening! WHAT! I did my homework after getting a new pair of skates on where the heck to get them sharpened. There were options in Bay Village and at a few local rinks, but I read that people were rude, expensive and didn’t know how to sharpen the right way. No thanks. Skaters Edge popped up on Unilocal,so I took the Green Line to the Lechmere stop and walked a few minutes to the rink. I was able to get my skates done while I waited, and Steve volunteered to explain the whole process to me and why he does things only one way — the right way. He took care of my skates for and took the time to educate me about how he’d tune my skates pretty much the same way he’d tune skates for any of the Bruins. Patrice Bergeron… watch out for me on the ice. The shop is tucked into the rink at 155 Gore Street in Cambridge. They accept credit card or cash which is nice. Open seasonally — not all year. Extremely clean and well-maintained work area. This guy defines amazing small business owner. Give him your business.

I’m very fussy about who gets to sharpen my goalie skates. For the past 20 years I’ve been driving 15 miles to Zwicker’s in Bedford. About 3 months ago someone did me the great favor of recommending Steve at Skaters Edge right in my home town! He asked me how I wanted them done and did a terrific job! I’ve been back a couple times since and couldn’t be happier with the results. If you’re looking for a first rate skate sharpening in/or around Cambridge, GOHERE. p. s. only $ 5!

Consistently the best skate sharpening in the Greater Boston area. I drive out of my way to go to Skaters Edge because I skate better with their sharpenings. And they also make keys.

When it comes to skate sharpening, this is about as good as it gets. I’ve been going here for about 2 years now. Both Steve, the owner, and Bill, the newer guy, are great. They are really knowledgeable and care about the quality of their work. It’s also fun to chat with them every few weeks when I need a sharpening. Much better than going to one of the larger stores, where you never know who is going to do the sharpening! They also carry hockey supplies and other skating goods. Even when the rink is closed in the summer, Steve will meet people by appointment to sharpen skates( ).
