Thank God for Dr. Taffe. I might have to wait a bit longer for my appointment, but I know it is because she is giving the previous appointment the same 1-on-1 time that she shares with me. She is caring, kind, smart, and most importantly, intuitive. She listens! Dr. Taffe has been my PCP for over 10 years, and the reason is because of the attention and information I receive as her patient. Cannot recommend he enough!

She is great. Kind, caring, and discovered my mother’s heart murmur which led to her getting open-heart surgery in the nick of time… a ton of other doctors had missed it because they never took the time like Dr. Taffe did. She is wonderful.

She’s been my PCP for years, primarily so that I could see a psychiatrist at Mount Auburn, since they require your PCP be on staff there, which she is. The biggest issue I have in comparison to other doctors I’ve seen in the building is time. I basically have to carve out 2 hours of my day when I make an appointment. I’ve seen four other doctors there for various things — the podiatrist, the gynecologist, the ENT, and the overflow doctor when I had a problem that really couldn’t wait and she couldn’t squeeze me in that day. In all those cases, particularly the podiatrist, I’ve been in and out in half an hour or less. Nevertheless, compared to other PCPs I’ve had, she’s great minus the time thing — which I think originates from her desire to actually converse with her patients. It’s a double-edged sword, but she’s alright for physicals and normal internal medicine stuff.

Dr. Taffe is a good doctor who is completely down to Earth but she is not a great doctor. She is a great person with a good bedside manner. She does explain things to you in layman’s terms without making you feel like a total moron and does give you the amount of attention you are due when it comes to your office visits but at the same time she misses important medical diagnoses that costs the wellbeing of her patient. She needs to be more thorough. To me, it happened with her on 2 separate occasions… one relatively benign and another very serious. If you decide to go to this doctor, I recommend that you ask plenty of questions and consult with other doctors if there is something serious going on. I left Belmont Medical’s practice and went to a more thorough PCP.

What a great doctor. Completely down to Earth. Explains things to you in layman’s terms without making you feel like a moron(like most of the products of Harvard Med around here will do any chance they get). You feel like youre the only patient she has the entire day when youre in with her. Had the completely opposite experience at the group practice on Washington Street in Brookline. If shes taking new patients and you like friendly doctors that pay attention to you, get in there right away!
