I ordered the sweet cream and green tea! It was very rich, creamy, and delicious. In the future I would probably opt for the smaller size(the two scoop size was a bit much for me after a hefty pasta dinner). I went on a Sunday at 9:30pm and be wait was about 20 mins. Highly recommended for those looking for good ice cream in the area!

I should note that i’m a JP Lick’s devotee, and probably won’t change that habit, but i confess guilt at having under-appreciated Toscanini’s all this time(having visited only occasionally). It never even occurred to me that they were of national renown, so i didn’t think twice about ordering perfectly standard ice cream from them. Which was good, because ice cream is good and wonderful and yes i am having it for dinner again, mom. So after hearing that it’s famous and fancy, i take another look at the list of flavors and make a point of ordering and trying a weird one. The wife had ‘butter mint chip’ which the guy working there couldn’t really explain. But it’s a buttery mint chocolate chip. Except you don’t quite think of butter the more you eat it, it’s more of a softened mint flavor that makes the chocolate chips the star. It’s damned good. i had a blueberry lemon ice cream. or lemon blueberry. it was crazy good, in the way that i always liked sherbet, but this is better because it is still ice cream. Brave the line, pay the $ 1 extra, it’s really good. Who knew.

Faith in ice cream restored. I sometimes forget about Ice Cream because of its pretentious cousins. Froyo tries to pass as healthy and Gelato thinks its fancy. Toscanini reminded me how good ice cream can be in a way that only ice cream could be. The line at Toscanini’s was out the door, but the wait is worth it. My peanut butter cookies and cream ice cream was perfect. Real, rich peanut butter taste, a silky, creamy. smooth texture, and chunks of still crumbly cookies. They have plenty of flavors, so I will be back for more soon.

Wouldn’t say it’s the world’s best. But it is pretty good. Just melts super quickly. Butter almond is delicious if u like nutty and sweet flavors. Must try the earl grey! This is what they’re famous for!

Believe the hype. This ice cream is all kinds of amazing. The line was out the door when I went on a warm Saturday afternoon, but it moved quickly and there was no pressure to order quickly and move on. Everything I tasted was delicious, but my favorites were strawberry, B3, malted vanilla, and hazelnut. Soft serve fans will be pleased that the fun flavors aren’t just for scoops — in addition to vanilla and chocolate there are usually two more interesting flavors. This weekend, they had chocolate mint and marshmallow fluff. I treated myself to an affogatto(a small scoop of ice cream swimming in 2 shots of espresso), but otherwise would opt for the«microscoop,» which is hardly micro. It’s about the same amount of ice cream in a normal sugar cone, and more than enough to satisfy a mid-afternoon sweet tooth. For a more decadent treat, the ice cream sandwiches looked divine. Earl grey ice cream between two soft-baked oatmeal cookies? I’m sold.

Um, yes. This was so good. We had two flavors, the B3(«B-cubed») and the goat cheese with walnut pieces. B3 was the better of the two for me, which was brown butter, brown sugar, and pieces of fudge brownies. They were BOTH awesome though. I also had a latte, and while the first latte turned out cold(the milk wasn’t steamed hot enough), another team member took my drink back and made it perfectly the second time.

The best ice cream in America. It’s true. Texturely remarkable, awesomely unique flavors but never over the top. Thank you Toscaninis for being within driving distance of my house.

Toscanini’s is one of the best places in Cambridge to get Ice Cream. They make their ice cream in-house and it is delicious! The prices are a bit higher than normal but it’s a busy, local, and amazing shop. There are seating insides and you can find outdoor seating in the popular central square neighborhood. Try B3 or burnt sugar ice cream. They will also do coffee with a scoop of ice cream for an additional dollar!!!

Seriously the best ice cream that I have ever tasted. Got the b3(brown butter, brown sugar, and brownie) and the first lick was to die for. I will dream about this ice cream until the day I die.

I mean, yeah, its that damn good. After some research the New York Times said that this is pretty much the best ice cream on the planet practically. I must say they were wrong. I went with the simple almond butter. Before I get into that I must say we got there around 11am on Saturday morning, perhaps a little early to indulge in some sweets but we don’t follow rules so we eat what we want when we want. Back to the almond butter. this is probably the best rich ice cream I’ve ever had. Honestly, it was so damn good I didn’t want my one scoop to end. While there are so many options to choose from I went with someone simple, if you can master the simple you can totally do amazing things with anything complicated. The boyfriend got the B3s which HEABOLSUTELY loved. Couldn’t stop raving out about it so much that he was so close to getting a second. If you are in town do yourself a favor. no matter what time of year it is… go get some ice cream from here. You can thank me later.

My wife and I split 2 scoops as it was a much better deal than 1 scoop separately and we were still able to order our 2 desired flavors. At $ 5.50 it was not cheap but the Ovaltine was good and the Earl Gray was great. Update: I visited a second time and found the B cubed to be worth my while.

While I admit that Christina’s is my favorite, I never regret coming to Toscanini’s when I’m nearby. Happily Boston has a plethora of fantastic ice creameries, and you should try all of them!

A Bostonian friend recommended this place as one of the best ice cream places in the city, and I have to agree. Even though I was stuffed from dinner, after sampling some flavors, I decided on the orange saffron kulfi. My friends got the mango and lime marshmallow, both of which were more tart and fruity. All were delicious. The line was rather long when we arrived, but it moved quickly. The microscoop(which is basically a scoop) was $ 3.50, a bit pricey to be sure but worth it. If I’m back in Boston, Toscy’s is my top pick.

I would say Toscanini’s is probably the best«ice cream» in Cambridge. What do I mean by that — I’m not saying it has the largest quantity of toppings(see JP Licks) or the most interesting flavors(see Christinas in Inman), but it is the smoothest, creamiest ice cream in Boston. All the flavors that I’ve had are very good, and they have a huge menu which makes me always want to come back to try more. One small but super cool thing they do: they let you put flavors side-by-side in a pint rather than one on top and one on bottom. This way you can enjoy two flavors throughout the whole pint!

So there’s going to be a line. Relax. It’ll move quickly, it’s just ice cream. The shop is filled with so many unique flavors from Bourbon Ginger Snap to Kenyan Kulfi to Earl Gray(which tastes a lot like fruit loops). Every scooper is always very happy to help me and will let me try a few flavors without any issue. My favorite thing is the micro sundae. It’s one flavor of your choice in a little tiny cup with hot fudge, whipped cream, and sprinkles. It’s a scoop of ice cream, maybe less, but honestly the perfect amount! I love how they have this option.

I’m not really an ice cream kinda person but this place is pretty good. The flavors are very unique and the ice cream itself is sweet but not overly so. Scoops are kinda small but it’s worth savoring the tantalizing flavors. If you’re going with a friend, share the large to try more flavors! I got the B3 which is brown butter, brown sugar, and brownies, very tasty! I’ve also tried the ice cream cakes which are also great. They have cakes in the fridge to buy on the spot but you can also order in advanced and choose any flavor you like. Cambridge = ice cream townnnn

Toscanini’s has been often hailed as Boston’s best ice cream place, but after coming here several times, I have to say that there are some better places in the area. My favorite thing about this store though, are its hours. I sometimes have ice cream cravings in the morning, and it’s nice to know that if I really wanted ice cream for breakfast, I can always go to Toscanini’s. I tried both the Khulfee and B3 flavors today. For the Khulfee, I really wish there were more spices in the ice cream — right now, it kind of just tastes liks pistachio and cardamom. I definitely prefer either Rancatore’s or Christina’s version a lot more. The B3 was just ok — the brownie parts were way too large and rich, and it was difficult to get a bite of both the ice cream and brownie. Half the time, I was just chewing on a large piece of frozen brownie, which doesn’t make for a great experience. The texture and consistency of the ice cream here is a bit softer than other places, and the ice cream will melt a bit faster. Harder than Fomu’s but softer than Christina’s. I really do appreciate the large selection of flavors that Toscanini’s has, and I will probably try some other ones next time. I’m really curious what their Early Grey flavor tastes like…

It was good, but disappointed that it wasn’t better(given high ratings). Standard icecream, few interesting flavors. Tip: can order the smallest cup size, AND ask for two flavors! You are welcome :)

Came in on a warm thursday night for ice cream, so delicious. The blend of the B3 and ovaltine flavors were amazing to say the least. It was pretty packed when I got in with the girlfriend, line was just about to the door. However, we probably waited less than 5 minutes before we finally got some ice cream to have. Taste whatever you like, they are usually pretty patient with you. But the B3 is a must!

I ordered a birthday cake through the online system. No contact after a while. I called them and said they never received the order. When I came to pick it up, it was in a box. I asked for a bag but they didnt have any. The cake itself is good but not amazing. I was hopping for more strawberry.

The ice cream here is tasty. The flavors are subtle and not overly sweet — I got a scoop each of Earl Grey and Sweet Cream, and they were both fantastic. The Earl Grey was rich and smooth, with just a tad of sugar, and the Sweet Cream was light and refreshing. The shop itself is trendy, and the servers are warm and friendly without being overbearing. Definitely a pleasant experience. The solar-powered cell phone charging station outside is pretty darn cool.

It was freezing cold outside but It was worth trying it. The place is cozy.

So many people recommended Toscanini’s that I had to stop by at some point during my trip to Boston. I got the B-cubed which is a combo of brown butter, brown sugar, and brownies and mango. The two flavors obviously did not go well with each other but I didn’t care. Separately, I liked the B-cubed — it certainly was a sweeter ice cream but given the name, that was kind of expected. The brownie chunks were the biggest highlight for me in the ice cream. I thought the mango was pretty ordinary — there was nothing out of the box with that one. I also tried my friend’s earl grey and mint cookies n’ cream which was a much better ice cream combination than mine for sure. The earl grey was SPOTON — I loved it but the mint cookies n’ cream could’ve used some more mint. Overall solid ice cream although I think still falls short to my favorite Jeni’s in the Midwest and Salt & straw and Ici’s on the west coast.

You can read the other many, many legit reviews here. I’ll just add my two cents worth. Or one cent. The New York Times quote on their window says, «The best ice cream in the country.» A bold statement since the NY Times can’t possibly try all the ice creams in the US. I will say that my palate says that it is not the best in the US, but it is pretty darn good stuff.(For those of you in Tucson who have tried The Screamery’s ice cream, you have had the best ice cream in the country. At least ice cream that is definitely better than Toscanini’s.) I had the Blackberry & Blueberry(one flavor) and the Malted Vanillla. I had samples of the Banana Foster(didn’t grab at me), the B3, brown butter, brown sugar and brownies(pretty good stuff), the strawberry(a good fresh flavor), and the Salty Carmel(pretty good). For my flavors, I enjoyed the Malted Vanilla. I did not finish the Blackberry & Blueberry. Too strong of a flavor or something. Tasted almost like liquor without being liquor. Or something. Just did not enjoy it. None of these flavors made me exclaim«Wow!» Nor the consistency. Again, if you are from Tucson, my reference is The Screamery, the best ice cream I’ve ever had. The Screamery’s texture and creaminess cannot be beat. Their flavors are incredible. Though pretty creamy, I was not as impressed with Toscanini’s. And it seems like their freezers could be just a tad too warm. Overall, Toscanini’s is a wonderful ice creamery, but not exceptional in my book. I can already think of two other ice creams in Tucson with a Wow factor that beat Toscanini’s.

THEBESTICECREAMINBOSTONAREA. They have a wide variety of flavors and they switch up flavors every couple of months so there’s always a reason to come back ;) I have a few favorites at here…(1) B3 is dangerous — butter, brown sugar and brownies. This might be too much for those without a sweet tooth tho.(2) Pistachio is really GOOD!!! This is always my go-to at any ice cream shop.(3) Ovaltine is surprisingly good also… I’m not a huge fan of chocolate ice cream but I always find myself going back to this ovaltine flavor. Just the right amount of chocolate-y flavor. I’ve been here a handful of times and the staff always has great customer service. The servers are patient, friendly and they never have an attitude… even when you ask to sample all the flavors haha

Rated best ice cream in Boston? It should really be rated best ice cream ever! I was blown away by how much I enjoyed Toscanini’s Ice Cream! When my friends and I arrived, there was a line out the door, but this gave us plenty of time to decide which flavors we wanted, since there were so many to choose from(32 at one time, I believe)! They rotate different flavors throughout the year, so there’s always something new to try! After much contemplation and a couple of samples of ice cream later, I opted for Earl Gray and Mango. Both were absolutely amazing! Probably not the best combo for the same cup, but each individual ice cream was very good! The Earl Gray had a strong tea flavor but was not bitter at all. The Mango flavor was fruity yet crisp and refreshing. I was really happy with my choices! There is some seating inside, but the line of people made it feel quite cramped. We opted to sit outside on some benches across the street and enjoy the fresh air! Can’t wait to come back and maybe try an Ice Cream Sandwich or Toto Pop!
