I used to live just a short walk from Wok N Roll and ever since I moved I’ve been trying to find a nearby Chinese restaurant that’s as good. Nothing compares!!! So now I just drive several miles to get take out from here — it’s that good and reliable. My favs are their scallion pancakes. Always crisp and I love the tangy dipping sauce. Also a fan of the Kung Pao chicken but really their entrees never are far off the mark. The portions are big, they don’t skimp on the meat and veggies are crisp.

Great food, love it but it’s pricey for Chinese. What would you expect from Cambridge anyways hah.

High quality Chinese delivery, everything is good, had orange chicken tonight and was great, general gau is nice also. Fastest delivery place I have ever seen, literally 30mins and food piping hot, recommend this highly as there are so many distinctly average Chinese places, it is good to find somewhere that hasn’t disappointed whatever we have ordered…

I would recommend this place to anyone looking for an excellent Chinese food experience. Big portions of high quality hot food. Found it with a Google search. So glad we took a chance on it. Impressed my wife, who is a very picky Chinese food fan. Will definitely go back whenever we can.

I’ve been looking for a decent green tea ice cream everywhere, finally found it here. Order by the pint and they’re not too expensive. Haven’t had anything else from here, so I can’t comment(explaining 4 stars)

Best sesame chicken, egg rolls, and dumplings around. They have a great dinner combo deal and are really fast with delivery. Seriously though… the sesame chicken. I could write a sonnet about that chicken. So delicious. And the egg rolls. I have searched Somerville and Cambridge over to find good sesame chicken and egg rolls, and had all but given up hope until I tried Wok n Roll. Their crab rangoon aren’t bad either. Hurry and get yours today! *sparkling smile*

Absolutely love this place! I’ve ordered delivery on multiple occasions and the food always came faster than quoted and delicious. The crab rangoons are nice an crispy. Veggie lo mein is light. And the kung pao chicken will warm you up. Delivery drivers have always been very friendly. Really happy with the experiences I’ve had so far.

The service was good, the food was disappointing. I ordered the vegetable udon noodles, and it was great until I found the chicken underneath. Not a happy surprise for vegetarians! I also had Ma Po Tofu, which was honestly a bit bland, the container was full of it, I think it would’ve been better on rice. The vegetable dumpling appetizer I enjoyed quite a bit! Though over all the Oreo Mousse Cake desert was totally worth it, to be completely honest though I did have to order food 2 hours later because I was starving again! Will have to keep searching for some good Chinese delivery in Cambridge!

This place catered a workshop I had in Central Square. It was ok, but just ok. We have previously used Pepper Sky, which has amazing fried rice, but this fried rice was pretty bland, and I didn’t fight to take any home. The fried chicken was good, but everything seemed to taste the same, and I had to douse it all in duck sauce(which I typically don’t even use it. Not a fan… there is much better nearby. But I never turn down free Chinese food!

I have come here for several years because the moo shi is so fresh and tasty. It’s a bit of a hole in the wall, but everything’s worth coming back for.

For what it is(Americanized Chinese) it’s not too bad, but I wasn’t particularly impressed either. I much prefer traditional Chinese cuisine, but even so my dish was just really bland. I got the dinner platter, which has a decent variety of food with soup, side(chicken wing for me) and entrée plus rice. I found myself eating just the entrée by itself(Hunan Spicy Pork) because frankly, if I ate it with rice, I could only taste the rice. Yes, it was that bland. The chicken wing was also kind of dry. I will give them points for service speed. Probably about 10 min when I received the entirety of the platter(soup was out and served in less than 5 min). Décor was nice and clean. They appeared to have a downstairs area but I didn’t see how expansive that might be. Seems like it could be reasonable for Porter Square, so I might give it a second chance with another menu item. However the price for quality/portion just doesn’t seem worth it to me right now. Food was quite underwhelming.

Again, only for takeout. In addition to the information from my last review, I’ve decided that I’ve gotten enough tasty, speedy, veggie-ful, and economical things from here to upgrade to five stars. I can’t really think of anything more I could want from a takeout Chinese place.

I’ve ordered delivery from here multiple times. The consistency of quality is terrible. Don’t get me wrong — the food *can* be good. If I consistently got the same quality General Tso’s from here as the best I’ve ever gotten from here I’d say it would be a 3 to 4 star place. However, I have many times received completely burnt /extremely dry /hard General Tso’s multiple times. Many other times, I have gotten General Tso’s that is made up mostly of the breading. If I had to put a percentage to the times I’ve gotten terrible General Tso’s from here it would be 95% of the time. The only reason I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the one single time it was good. You’re better off ordering Chinese elsewhere, or paying a little more for Thai food from Sweet Ginger off Bow St.

This place used to be a lot better. I got the general gau’s combo with crab rangoon and vegetable fried rice. As others have said, you get a lot of food for your money. That being said, the sauce on the chicken was entirely overbearing. All I could taste was the sauce and it wasn’t a particularly good taste. Some of the chicken was also overcooked. It was a huge disappointment. The crab rangoons were alright, but I’m not sure how much crab was in there. The fried rice was mediocre. All in all I’d say try some place else before going here.

I had the general gau combo, including fried rice, spring roll, and hot/sour soup. The price is good for the amount of food, but the general gau chicken was disappointing. Some of the chicken was very dry and hard and difficult to chew(probably a combination of over-fried and not freshly made), and the sauce was too over-bearing on the taste buds. The soup was good, the spring roll was good, the fried rice mediocre. I’ll give them another try but will definitely order something different.

You know, that was damn tasty. If you’re looking for really fried, saucy, heavy American-style Chinese food that is(I got the General Gau). You know how long it’s been since I had an egg roll? Just what I needed on this muggy, hot day. But, OMG it transported me back to the first time I had Chinese food as a child. They do it up right here.

Excellent Chinese takeout. The food tasted fresh and yummy… good quality versions of your typical American Chinese takeout. We ordered the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef, both as «dinner specials.» This is definitely the way to go… for an extra couple bucks, you get rice, an appetizer(we got the eggroll and crab rangoon(you get 2), both very tasty), and a soup(choice of hot and sour or wonton). Delivery time was average(about 45 minutes), but the food arrived piping hot and the driver was friendly.

I just moved to Cambridge and I needed a Chinese takeout fix. Wok N Roll was nearby, had decent reviews, and delivered, so I placed an order: House special chow foon with an order of wonton soup. Maybe I’ve been let down by all the takeout Chinese I’ve had in the past. Maybe I underestimated the quality of food in Boston. Either way, I wasn’t prepared for how good this food was. The chicken, beef, and shrimp in my chow foon were(gasp) REAL meat, not the spongey meal-like substance often found in takeout Chinese. The noodles, were fat, piping hot, cooked perfectly, and adequately sauced. Hell, even the $ 3 bowl of soup was good. From what I can tell, Wok N Roll puts a little TLC into all the food they make, which is more than can be said about a lot of similar restaurants. I’ll definitely eat again.

WNR is at the top of their tier, which I’d call«cheap American-style Chinese take-out». Super consistent, always good, always slightly better than you’d expect from appearances(and name!). I’ve had most everything vegetarian and seafood on the menu, and there’s nothing bad, though obviously I like some things more than other. Pro tip: try the kung pao shrimp. The shrimp are plentiful and large. The peppers are never overcooked. I’m also a big fan of their crab rangoon. Delivery is super-fast, friendly, and professional. Would order from again. Have never eaten there, though I’ve sometimes waited inside while waiting for take-out to be ready. I probably wouldn’t eat there. Very clean, and not problematic in any way, just no atmosphere.

We ordered here for the first time and were pleased with the meal/delivery. I highly recommend getting one of the combo take-out meals. It was a good value to get one appetizer, soup, main dish and rice for one price. The delivery was really quick and the food arrived hot(maybe a little too hot). The food was also enjoyable, but I wish the chicken and eggplant dish was spicier after choosing«medium» on the heat scale. Wok n Roll has the potential to be our«go to» Chinese takeout joint.
