I ate for the first time at Corrine’s after hearing good talk about it sorry to say disappointment at it’s finest I ordered the turkey wings with Mac & cheese and greens and got the lemon cake the wings were over seasoned the Mac had no flavor and no taste the greens tasted burnt no flavor the cornbread which was the only thing free crumpled as soon as you bit into it no taste and not done and the Lemon cake didn’t taste home made to me I had to go home and re season the greens I won’t be returning.

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Camden but haven’t been in awhile. The staff is always courteous and nice. We ordered chicken and fish platters to go. The potato salad was ok. The greens and string beans were good. The cornbread was excellent. The Mac and cheese wasn’t as good as it use to be. It seemed as the noodles were overcooked and it didn’t have a cheesy taste to it. Now as far as the meats, the chicken breast was really dry and tasted old. The fish was very light in color with no seasoning. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe different cooks or maybe I have been exposed to better throughout the years and my expectations are reasonably higher. Either way, I will chalk it up as a $ 30 so-so experience.

Although I have not eaten here in a long time, What I remember is the food always being excellent. You get what you pay for! these platters are STUFFED. I always get the smothered chicken. Best soul food in the area. they used to make the BEST banana pudding I’ve ever tasted in my life! But I haven’t seen it in a very long time. if you want authentic soul food, COMEHERE! order in advance, and give them plenty of time to get your order together.

This is my kind of place. Off the beaten path and not spoiled. I was greeted by a young lady that was polite but with just the right amount of sass to keep things interesting. The setting is something from the past. You can tell the focus here is more on the food and I like that. The décor is just tacky enough to be fun and appropriate without being a turn off. I ordered the meatloaf with a side of baked mac and cheese and collard greens. What they brought out was enough for two people, easy. The meatloaf is the second best I’ve ever had. Nice thick slices that break apart with the perfect amount of gravy. The mac and cheese was good but it’s hard to mess that up. The collard greens had a good spice to them but for me was a little over salted. I still enjoyed them though. And oh yea, the corn bread here is just right; served hot. I was checked on by the waitresses a couple times with a direct, «you good»? And in fact I was. Too busy stuffing my face to answer, I had to give the satiated thumbs up. When the check came, I realized Ididn’t have cash on me so I had to pay with a card. When the waitress came back with my receipt I noticed that there wasn’t a place to add a tip. I informed her and she politely replied with a, «it’s aight». I was taken back. There is no way I would ever leave a restaurant without tipping(no one should) and she was completely ok with it. Luckily there was an ATM next store and I made sure she was taken care of. Overall a very cool spot. Everyone that was dining seemed very happy and we all were participating in an open conversation of sorts. It was evident that these people were regulars and they showed it by sending compliments to the chef. There is definitely passion in the cooking. It’s cool to see that in a place that really is just serving the locals. No pretentious chef that wishes they were a celebrity. Just some good olé’ fashion soul food made with some soul.

I got the Fried Catfish, Candied Yams, and Mac & Cheese. The food tasted amazing! I highly recommend Corrine’s Place. You feel at home and welcome, and by the time you leave you’ll be very full. With enough left overs to have a second meal later!

On Saturday, April 4, 2015, my wife and I hosted an event at my house in Sicklerville, NJ. I was unable to cook due to a funeral I attended. Corrinne’s was recommended as an option to cater about 200 people. I have never eaten here but heard of this place through a few friends who stated the food was very good. The food was delivered on time and hot. The beef ribs, candy yams, potato salad, collard greens, etc was some of the best soul food I have eaten. My guest, wife and I was so amazed of the quality of food. It tasted like someone took the time to prepared the food with LOVE and PASSION. This is what soul food is all about. My guests are still talking about the food until today. I wanted to thank you personally for making this event a success. My wife and I will definitely visit your establishment very SOON! Thank you once again!

There aren’t that many restaurants in the city with this many reviews, so that right there should tell you something. Even before I ever came here, I knew Corrine’s Place was revered for it’s high quality both inside the city and out. I went there tonight for dinner with a group of friends and it definitely did not disappoint. The menu is roughly broken up into meals, which come with two sides, and sandwiches. I got a meal of fried pork chops, mac and cheese, and collard greens. I’ll get to that in a second, because even before your meal comes, you get the option if a piece of cornbread. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve had such a warm, heavenly piece of cornbread like this before. It’s going to spoil me for other places’ bread. The meal itself was super good. It came with *two* fried pork chops, a crazy huge portion, but which were absolutely delicious. They were lightly battered and fried, but still tender and juicy. The collard greens were good, as was the mac and cheese(which are even better if you add in some of the hot sauce that sits in the middle of each table). And since you probably won’t finish the whole thing, you’ve got a little bit of lunch for the next day. One thing to note too is if you’re interested in going and trying a bunch of different things, they’ve got a Sunday buffet for $ 15. However you do it, definitely give Corinne’s Place a try.

I went to the restaurant for my Birthday dinner. I had the ribs with 2 side dishes. I added the greens because I was really wanting them for weeks. Im from Philly so i go to Camden just for there soul food on my Birthday and special times. The service was great. I had a good waitress and the food was ok. I ordered the BQQ pork ribs which had a little spice but was enough to not make me sweat. The mac and cheese didn’t have much taste and there were over done cooked noddles. Yams we ok wasnt sweet at all. Greens needed more flavor and seasoning. The cornbread was amazing with butter it was the best I had in a long time. My drink was Ice tea which was soo good. I taste the potato salad it was good as well. That was really good. For dessert i had chocolate cake with white icing. Yummy and the waitress gave me milk and made it better. Over all the staff was great. The food was ok nothing compared to the other times I come to eat. This meal is ok but I’m sure next time it be better. Sundays they have soul food buffet which is with the money

I’ve only been here once so far, but you can be damn sure I’ll be back. The food here is stellar. Nothin’ dressed up about Corinne;s, because that ish is unnecessary. This place is all about the food. My southern friend was underwhelmed by the collard greens, but I enjoyed them and appreciated the fact that the serving was substantial. At something like $ 13, I had fried shrimp with mac and greens as sides. In my bookmark note for this place, I wrote one thing about the mac & cheese: AMAZEBALLER. Because it is greasy and cheesy and artery clogging-ly delicious. I really liked my shrimp too. I heard mixed reviews about the wings, but wings aren’t my jam so I don’t mind. There’s also a jukebox. Random.

Bomb ass soul food right here. Didn’t eat in, just take out but Everything from the fried chicken, candied yams, baked mac n cheese to the potato salad was muy delicioso. Only thing i did not like ATALL was the peach cobbler. Waaaay too much, cinnamon, nutmeg and not enough sugar for sweetness. I took about 2 bites and threw it away, nonetheless come here for the food it’s just like home cookin!’

A true and delicious soul food restaraunt is hard to find. Corinne’s is excellent. The food is amazing, the staff is always pleasant and welcoming and the prices are very reasonable considering the quality of the food and the size of the portions. You will not be leaving hungry. I have been going to this establishment for the last 20 years(I’m only 30 years old) and have yet to have a bad meal. The chicken is delicious and pretty much any side you choose is bursting with flavor. I am a huge foodie and have been to several soul food places, including Sylvia’s in NY, which seems to be the benchmark for this type of cuisine. I can honestly say there is no comparison in my opinion. Sylvia’s gets the publicity and the marketing since her establishment is located in up and coming Harlem, but Corinne’s food is several notches above. It’s unfortunate that being located in Camden deters a lot of people from trying this place. It’s not the best neighborhood but I have never once felt unsafe. I grew up in a town as white as can be just to give perspective. You can park directly in front of the restaurant and never once, have her children or anyone related to her behaved like animals. Corinne’s is definitely a diamond in the rough. Considering how long this modest establishment, with exterior signage you can easily miss, has been in business, it is a testament to how delicious this place is and word has spread. It would behoove you to go try it! You won’t be disappointed.

I went over to the hood of Camden just to get to this place lol. The food was good. I ordered a chicken platter with greens and mac and cheese. My chicken was seasoned good. I did not have to add salt. The greens and mac was good as well. I also ordered a rib platter with mac and greens(dont judge me) and the ribs was great. The sauce was good as well. My cousin had chicken with mac n yams. The yams was good. I have no complaint about this place. I might go back to try the buffet you get on sunday only. Call before you go cause i went last week and they was closed. A waste of gas and that 5.00 toll!

Since my last review, I have gotten sick, along with some other friends of mine that have eaten here. There have been alot of rumors about the temporary closings but I don’t want to speak about what I don’t know! What I do know is that we have been coming here for over 15yrs, but the last 2 take out orders were not good, and the last buffet on Sunday that we went to, we all got sick. I’m not willing to try again.

OMG come here on a Sunday for lunch!!! we were so lucky cuz we got there right at 1:30 which is when they open. There was a small line forming outside and as soon as the doors opened for business, we all swarmed in. Inside laided the most beautiful feast! It’s either take out or a buffet for only $ 15. Most people were getting take out but we decided to eat there. We got amazing rice and beans, mac & cheese, delicious potato salad, bbq turkey wings, bbq beef ribs, fried catfish, yam, collard greens, and the most amazingly juicy, crispy fried chicken! I think I ate at least 3 pounds of food and it was all SOOOO delicious! Also I had the best slice of sweet potato pie EVERRRRRR. I definitely understand why people get their food to go. They literally give you enough food in a take out box to feed 4 people. AMAZING. Corinne’s is amazing and SOO worth a visit.

This restaurant is bomb. Our waiter was adorable and gave us awesome recommendations. He was so enthusiastic, it was wonderful! The food was awesome. Well, I don’t know… maybe I’m not super into soul food? But they had franks hot sauce, and they gave us delicious corn bread. Also… fried chicken!!! DELICIOUS. i didnt get the kind that is like double –soaked in gravy. maybe next time. meal = enough for two meals… great value for the price! Also, i will support any business that survives in Camden. The waiter said that Saturday night there is really big– for date night! I really want to go then.

I LOVE this little place. I am a huge fan of soul food but I haven’t a clue how to make it myself. Corinne makes it like mom would have made it… if mom could cook! I used to work in Camden and would order from here about once a month — though I could definitely go for her smothered chicken and collard greens EVERY day if I were willing to compromise my size 4⁄6 waistline. When I left that office the thing I missed the most was Corinne’s. The prices are more than reasonable and the portions are huge. One order of food there could easily be 2 meals for a person with a normal appetite. :) I just bought a new home in Camden and am dying to move in so I can visit Corinne’s more frequently!
