A delightful change from the usual roadside food stop. Recommend the Calabash chicken. Very tender and done perfectly. Dee was our waitress and very attentive! Will be sure to stop here when we are in the area again!

Fatz Café in Camden, SC has now become a must stop at restaurant location on our way to and from Myrtle Beach, SC. Our server was the best and made us feel like royalty. She made wonderful recommendations for lunch after finding out this was our first trip to this restaurant location. We started our meal with a sampling of the best loaded baked potato soup on the planet. Then, we both ended up having the world famous calabash chicken tenders after a melt in the mouth sample was delivered fresh and hot to our table. I decided to upgrade my meal based on the recommendations from our waitress, and she didn’t disappoint. I ended up trying the grilled vegetable skewers and sweet fried brussels. My wife had the grilled vegetable skewers and her favorite sweet potato fries. After she tried my yummy brussels, she offered half of her sweet potato fries in exchange. I have posted a picture of this meal on Unilocal, but remember that the picture shows a ½ serving of Brussels and a ½ serving of sweet potato fries. We have now visited 3 Fatz Café locations in the last two years. This location has now been bookmarked in Unilocal as my favorite location. We discovered Fatz Café on our way home from Myrtle Beach last year when we stopped for lunch in Columbia, SC. Last year we got an order of Fried Green Tomatoes for the road so we wouldn’t be wondering what we had missed in our first trip to this wonderful chain restaurant. Miss Daisy herself would have been proud of those fried green tomatoes. But, we also asked our server to hook us up with some of those world famous poppyseed rolls and honey butter. We told him that these rolls will have to hold us until we return next year. This year our waitress hooked us up with the loaded baked potato soup and those yummy poppyseed rolls! Thanks again to the Manager and entire staff at the Camden, SC location for making this another memorable vacation! See you next year!

I’m a fan. I got the Calabash Chicken Salad today. For the price, it had enough chicken and very good salad ingredients. The spicy ranch was good with that salad. Earlier in the week I had the pot pie. It tasted real good, and it had a good crust, but it didn’t have a bottom. –5 points :) The ambiance is very comfortable. The service is very good. The free rolls are a great start, too.

Certainly not a fancy joint, but I’ve always gotten just what I needed: fast, attentive service, decent food, lots of choices. Works for me!

My wife and I have traveled to many states and have had the opportunity to eat at a variety of restaurants. This year, we chose North and South Carolina and have had some very good experiences so far(over eight days). Today, we drove into Camden with an empty stomach and no clue where to go. We saw the Fatz restaurant and decided to take a chance. We were greeted at the door by two hosts, each one opening a door for us. The host at the desk was quick to greet us and take us to a table. Our server, Samantha was cheerful and welcoming. She asked if we were from the area and we told her we were from California and it was our first time to the restaurant. It was like we had just made her day. Samantha broke out with a giant smile and began thanking us for choosing Fatz for lunch. She asked if we had any questions and my wife asked her about the Calabash chicken. Samantha described the cooking process to us and offered samples. As good as that offer was, I couldn’t believe what happened next. Samantha went on to tell us that she would let the rest of the staff know it was our first time to the restaurant. She then went on to offer the«World Famous Biscuits» and told us how great they were. She was right and we ended up getting more than our share of the biscuits, fried green tomatoes and shared the Calabash chicken wrap. Everything was delicious, evidenced by the fact we did not leave anything on the plate. The Service Manager, Kelly visiting our table and answered our questions about the restaurant. If we were«Secret Shoppers», the store would have received a 100% rating. Samantha is a great server and fantastic representative for Fatz.
We would definitely visit Fatz again.

We just stopped in for a quick bite while on a long road trip. Our server, Amanda Demby, was awesome! We have 2 small children and she was so sweet to the. She was also very prompt and accommodating. We were in and out in less than 30 min. A good meal, GREAT service, and in and out in a timely manor means the next time we take this route, we will be back.

I had my worst dinner here yesterday. Had the sirloin steak and was chewy and not fresh. Everything was so bad. I would never come back here!!! The only reason they get one star is because they did not let me pay my check, and for the good customer service! Food was hideous.

Over the years the price has gone up with the same amount of food. Food is great, really love the popcorn shrimp and rolls. Sometimes the wait is long, but I think it’s worth it for the most part.

Second time at this location. Great customer service. Husbands chicken was over cooked and the efforts they went to and apologizes were above and beyond. Food was great and very hot! Good meal all around.

Okay so my husband and I both got their burgers which were really quite great for a chain. My kids got a chicken and broccoli alfredo which was awesome, and mac and cheese that tasted like it was made from scratch and very tasty. So for food I give 4 – 5 stars! Service however is where the issue started… the server was over all very nice and polite however we were traveling with two young kids and she was taking her time. It was at least 10 minutes before she got our drink order and then they were not even correct. I would not mind visiting this southern chain again next time that I am down that way. We enjoyed their food and I think the server was just having a rough day.

I am writing to say thank you and hope the staff in Camden is acknowledged. The level of service and commitment that the manager, waitstaff and kitchen staff showed during our dinner last night was phenomenal. We are in the process of relocating to Camden, SC and we were meeting with relators/contractors to work on our new home. We had a very tight schedule and had to get my 13 year old son back home to his mom after a weekend stay with my wife and I. We were running out of time and stopped at the Fatz to get a quick meal. The staff went overboard finding us a table at a busy time, taking our order promptly and speeding its preparation. We ate a very good meal, thanked the staff and got my son back home right on time. Thank you very much for making the extra effort to support our request. I will insure that folks know that Fatz no only has great food, but has over the top customer service as well.

I’ve enjoy Fatz Café since my time stationed at Fort Jackson. I stopped here with my mom and niece on our way from the Airport to Bishopville during my most recent trip home from Kansas City. One big plus of Fatz is the southern hospitality. We had a great server and the store manager came by the table and apologized for not recognizing us after we said it wasn’t our first visit. We let him off the hook, because our last visit had been probably a year ago. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, especially the bread. Fatz is a hometown favorite, great American fare and service.

Clean, friendly but I must have hit it on a wrong day. Parmesan crusted fish just couldn’t get done. It was very slimey and just needed to cook a little longer. My waitress took it back and it looked like that they just poured more sauce on it. Still looked slimey. I just couldn’t eat it. To be fair, they did give me a discount which I could have cared less about. I would have rather had my fish coked done. I know the manager/cook was very nice but I was disappointed. I should have just ate at McDonalds. I ate here thinking I could eat a little more healthy. I ended up eating the rolls and rice, all Carbs! Ugh!

Not bad. Certainly a step above the Applebee/Chili type chains. I found the menu a bit limited and definitely heavy on fried food and huge calorie counts, typical of many local southern chains. I tried the rib/shrimp/chicken finger sampler. Chicken fingers were decent. Ribs pretty good. The shrimp tasted fresh. Service was good.

I am from PA& am in the area visiting. Went to FATZ& was greeted by a very friendly hostess & then was greeted by a super nice waitress named Kelli. She was just a southern delite. Such good service & the best food. Was perfect. If you leave hungry it is your own fault. Very nice atmosphere & met super ppl on the way out. Just so friendly. Love it.

This was a great luncheon spot for us as we traveled north. We thought the service was good and the place was clean. Our party of four had four different dishes. One of us had a club sandwhich, another had a ruben, another had fish and chips and one had chicken. Everyone thought their meal was good. The price was reasonable too.
