As an avid dancer, I’ve searched long and hard around the Philadelphia area for a studio. My criteria is pretty reasonable, and yet, you would be amazed how difficult it is to find a good dance studio. After searching and exploring multiple options, I am so happy I have found Universal. My criteria is the following: 1. Knowledgeable instructors who don’t feed you BS 2. Reasonable prices 3. Friendly staff 4. Positive environment 5. Most importantly: a studio where the owner truly LOVES the art and loves to share the art Sandra Fortuna is great! She has some of the highest dance teaching certifications in the United States. She is welcoming to beginners, but also to more advanced dancers and to very advanced dancers. She will tell you exactly how it is, doesn’t sugar coat a thing, and truly helps you improve. She will go out of her way to teach a lesson on a national holiday and answers every email promptly. Her studio is easy to get to(accessible by a 15 minute train ride on the PATCO) and it’s huge! It has two large ballrooms and a practice room. I suggest checking it out for yourself. If you’re shy, give her a call or send her an email first. Sandra and her staff are absolutely wonderful!
