Stopped in here during our stay in Camden. This place is awesome! Their Bloody Mary was amazing! The bartender who was also the owner was so nice and inviting! This place had a great selection of craft beer too! Definitely s must try!

We come to Camden every February for a long weekend. Since it’s snowing 10 inches right now we decided to venture out on foot and boy are we glad we did. This quaint little Scottish pub, located right across from the Hartstone Inn where we’re staying, is very cozy. Great variety of beers and ciders. We enjoyed some beer and cider and some traditional fare. Bangers and mash, a Cornish pastie and sticky toffee pudding. All were yum! Give this place a try!

We spend a week or so in Camden each year, usually in the fall for our anniversary. It’s upside is that it’s quieter than usual with all of the tourists gone, but the downside is that a few of the restaurants and bars are seasonal and so they’re closed at this time. Not the case with The Drouthy Bear(which loosely translates as The Thristy Bear). It’s a beautiful bar managing to feel both cozy and traditional as well as clean and family friendly at the same time. You can stop in for a delicious afternoon tea or make yourself comfortable at the bar with a local Maine beer, a good Scottish pint or a wee dram of Scotch. There’s premiership soccer on the TV and the owners — a husband and wife team — couldn’t be more welcoming. And onto the food — everything is made in house — with pie machines having been imported from Scotland — Scotch eggs, fish and chips, sausage pies. Good for a homesick ex-pat but just as tasty for someone wanting something new. If you’d like to be greeted like an old friend, enjoy a drink, have a change from the ubiquitous lobster rolls then The Drouthy Bear should be a *must visit* when you’re in Camden.

This place rocks… A gem in downtown Camden. If you are a craft beer enthusiast or even need a good scotch they have you covered. It’s a step into Scotland with great British fare… They even have walker crisps and Irn-Bru! Weather your a local or on vacation, make this one of your lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner meals. You won’t be disappointed!
