We stayed at Whitehall on October 18th. Overall, I’m a big fan. It’s attractive, both in look and feel, and very inviting. There are nice lounge areas downstairs and outside. The rooms are really attractive, and the beds and bedding are really comfortable. There are bathrobes in the rooms. It is a very nice option that is more contemporary than a lot of the other inns in Camden. I would definitely stay here again, and would look forward to the stay — it’s that kind of a relaxing, inviting place. A few things that could make the place better: they have Keurig coffee machines in each room but only provide low quality, Green Mountain coffee. For a «boutique» hotel, I’d expect better coffee. It would also be nice if breakfast was available before 8 am. The last item is more a factor of bad timing — it was unseasonably cold this past weekend in Maine, and the bathroom in our room had no heat. You had to stand on a towel on the floor, the tiles were so cold. The building is an old inn which has never been open in the winter, and I’m sure the unseasonal coldness wasn’t expected. While it didn’t bother me or my husband, I could see people being upset by the very cold bathroom.

A really nice place in a very good location. A nice alternative to B&Bs that are sometimes a little too small and can feel claustrophobic. Rooms were nice and comfortable, and the staff were helpful, although I didn’t really push them much in terms of my needs. This being said, the hot water during peak shower time did not hold up. Also, the restaurant was really pricey– not much on the menu that wasn’t expensive. Also, breakfast doesn’t start until 8; we had full days planned and couldn’t even get coffee– let alone anything to eat– before then. And the iPad is not necessary… it’s a potential $ 700 liability that I really didn’t want.

Décor is just lovely, great refurbished rooms. The Inn is very old and noisy, I recommend earplugs to get a good night’s sleep. Bed was amazingly comfortable. On a bad note, I complained on my second day that the shower was very slippery and asked for a shower mat. They said they don’t have those. The next morning I slipped and fell in the tub bruising myself pretty badly and breaking the shower in the process. When I told them about it, they said oh don’t worry about breaking the shower. They didn’t seem very concerned with my wellbeing or safety. I was disappointed in that reaction and am just lucky I didn’t crack my head open on the tub.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whitehall. Everything from our cozy, clean room to the front porch rockers to the delicious breakfast was perfect. The staff was also extremely friendly. Further, they give you an iPad for your stay to get a better feel for the Camden area; this was a nice touch. Overall, the placehas character: a thoughtful mix of traditional and modern. My wife and I recommend it!

One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel. The staff didn’t have a clue about anything related to the hotel, including the managers. I had reserved a suite with a shower over three months in advance as I was traveling through Camden with my husband to celebrate our anniversary. The staff claimed to have no record of my room request and told me the room i had reserved wasn’t available anymore. the manager then told me the room that she had suggested i book when we spoke didn’t even exist at that hotel, and then one of her staffers corrected her to confirm that it did. After a lot of back and forth, there was no offer of a solution or any sort of accommodation for the«mix up» and the staff couldn’t care less that I was there for my anniversary. The following day we had no hot water and were told that the restaurant would be serving bar snacks and gave us a menu to review. We then arrived back later that night for said bar snacks and happy hour to find out the only food available were nuts and olives. Their menu even said they served on Tuesdays so i am not sure what was going on. I had even called the hotel during the day to confirm they would be serving food and was told they were. all in all while this place looks cool, the service is awful, the staff don’t know anything and more importantly don’t care about anything. I would never go back to this hotel and am not likely to stay at any other hotel under this brand.

came and stay here for our short weekend getaway. the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is very relaxing and cozy. it is exactly what I needed, to getaway from the city life and relax with wine and fire pits. it just recently got renovated and everything is brand new and clean. Love the environment, love the room. Even though the room was a bit on a smaller side but we think it is very cozy and had everything that we needed. The bed was large and comfy. The breakfast was very well plate and tasty in small portion so you get to sample a bit of everything. It is by far one of the best B&B experience I had. Will definitely come back for another weekend getaway and try Pig + Poet. the only thing I didn’t like about this place was their pillows. they were too soft, doesn’t really support my neck, and i felt like my face was wrap with pillow the whole night and felt a bit stuffy. hope they can improve on that. Overall, I would recommend this place to my family and friends.

I stayed at Whitehall about 14 years ago and WOW, what an evolution. Where do I begin? I’ll start by saying that the morning before we arrived at Whitehall, my now fiancé had proposed to me. From the moment we pulled up, every single staff member already knew, greeted us with huge smiles and enthusiasm which made our stay an absolute delight. When we got to the room, it was covered in rose petals and the staff had left us a bottle of Prosecco and a lovely note welcoming us to the hotel. We had already traveled through Maine quite a bit and this room was by far the nicest we had stayed in. The bed was a full king size and was SUPER comfortable. Compared to the b&b’s we had stayed in, this was truly the lap of luxury. The finishes in the room were beautiful and the bathroom was immaculately clean with stunning natural light and a clawfoot tub. Having seen the old Whitehall, this felt like a modern version of what used to be, but they didn’t lose the old school charm. The lobby was warm and welcoming even though it’s super funky and modern and we spent a lot of time relaxing on couches flipping through art books and drinking cocktails on the porch in the rocking chairs. We also frequented the onsite Pig + Poet restaurant, which we ate at both nights and each morning of our stay. There’s really not that many great restaurants in Camden and this one was very much up to our Brooklyn standards. Innovative food with a cozy atmosphere. We ate our way through the entire menu and were very impressed. There was really no reason to leave the property and we didn’t with the exception of going on a hike. It’s a one stop shop and we will absolutely be back. Thank you Whitehall for making our engagement so special! Can’t wait to come back and visit you soon.

While lovely, there is nothing about this hotel which justifies the price. The room was comfortable and quaint, but by no means special. Even during the high season in Camden, the rates are unusually high. Breakfast was nice, but again a little too cute and a little less food than you would reasonably expect elsewhere. And it’s a quibble, but come on, it’s Maine so breakfast should have something blueberry. Cocktails in the bar were barely good, though. The bartender had to look up how to make a Manhattan and a Sidecar. They turned out barely fine. Overall, it was lovely but about $ 100 more than I’d say it was worth.

A newly remodeled bed and breakfast just steps away from downtown Camden. A hundred year old tradition marries urban quirky chic! Rooms are on the smaller side, but offer complete privacy and are super comfortable. A new Pig and Poet restaurant is a big selling point, offering wonderful food in a welcoming environment. Great cocktails, wine list is spate, but on the par. The restaurant is a winner, love it!
