The chicken sub was sooo good and filling. Loved the mustard sauce it came with. Came here at lunch and it wasn’t busy at all. I saw someone’s review about the tilapia and Need to try that next! Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. It’s a hole in the wall place so don’t expect anything fancy. Food was good.

Best food nearby. The Steak and Cheese with Bacon is my mainstay. On the rare occasion I get anything different, it’s still delicious. And, the staff are friendly, too.

I’ve been here a handful of times and I’ve always left pretty satisfied. The customer service is exceptional — I’ve been served by the same kind lady every time and she’s always very friendly. She has even memorized the foods I like and typically order. Overall, the experience isn’t bad. One downside is that if you don’t particularly like the strong smell of food present in the restaurant dining area, you would not like eating inside. But if you wouldn’t mind the smell of chicken as you dine, then you should be fine! Continue reading below for specific comments of the food I’ve ordered. Chicken: At first, this was the only thing I ordered, for carry-out. It’s usually well-seasoned and cooked tenderly. I’d say one of the better Peruvian chicken places in the Camp Springs area. Fried Tilapia: This is all I order now, with varied sides every other sitting. It’s served with the full body(head, tail, bones) typically quite large in size, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sides: Their sides are pretty average. I always order rice and that’s usually consistent in taste. Their pasta salad has a very mild taste, but that is how I like it! Their regular salad is not very good though — it’s too dry and their lettuce is too hard, as if it was old. Their corn tortilla has no taste, but is served warm and soft.

Updated: my review, i came here and decided to have something else, since i usually get the chicken. this time i ordered the beef soup. Well, when it came out it was COLD. I told the waitress and she did nothing, she literally just looked at me and smiled. I said it in spanish, so there was no language barrier. Sorry but i don’t like cold soup that is supposed to be served hot. Will not return.

Not one the best Peruvian restaurants. Before the 3 peruvian places opened in waldorf this past 2 years we would go to Papi’s if we didn’t feel like driving all the way out to the next closest Peruvian which was usually Sardi’s in Capitol Heights. We never got anything besides chicken from here, and the chicken is okay. It’s not as good as other Peruvian joints. They’re really stingy on sauce here, and that makes me dislike a place. I realize you think that 4 of the 1 ounce sauce cups are enough for one whole chicken split into 5 people, but it’s just not. So please don’t be rude when we ask for more. The good thing is that they have a pool table which is fun to play before/after eating.

The chicken is really good! I loved the steak and pork too! really good black beans and my family enjoyed the fried plantains. Grabbing something for lunch during the weekday, people should expect 20 – 30 minutes(To Go). It was worth the wait but if you’re in a hurry this place probably wouldn’t meet those requirements. I would definitely go back but strategize the time I go.

I was excited to see that they delivered and there is a $ 15 delivery minimum so I got the chicken salad and a ½ chicken with rice & beans and fries(lunch and dinner. The good: I ate the chicken for dinner and the chicken was flavorful not today(except for the wing portion). Even though I microwaved the chicken to heat it up it didn’t dry out. The rice & beans were good but the fries were soggy upon arrival because the delivery was late. The bad & Ugly: I ate the chicken salad for lunch and It looked old and unappetizing — looked and tasted like it was put together with the scraps of the kitchen! It had lettuce which had started browning on the edges, two slices of cucumber, two slices tomatoes, very lil shredded carrot, sliced onion, and dry shredded chicken. See picture attached. Probably one of the worse chicken salads I have ever had and definitely not worth $ 7.50. I tried to power through the salad cause 1. I hate wasting food and 2. I was starving as it was 2:45 and my first meal of the day but not even ½ way through I gave up and threw it out. Very disappointing because they deliver. In a pinch I wouldn’t mind ordering chicken from here for delivery but will NEVER order a salad from here ever.

Chicken: The Chicken was actually pretty good every time we went, the last time we visited the chicken was dry and tasted like it was cooked earlier that morning. the last time we went it was a disappointment. Sides: Horrible, it was one time it was actually pretty good. We went back and it was horrible. the only good sides that they have is the greens, but it seems it was a hit or miss. Customer Service: its usually really good but it was one particular day. This one chubby cashier had a hellish attitude, over the phone and in person. We won’t be going back any time soon.

I came here with locals and had their chicken, rice, and beans. I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

Great food! Great staff! An asset to the community. The chicken is cooked perfectly every time. The rotisserie sub is a sure shot also. The collard greens are a pleasant surprise if you like a little heat. The beans and rice are a family favorite. My son can’t get enough of their corn muffins. I feed my family their food often. Love this place. Call ahead for takeout. I do wish they had an updated website with a menu available.

We just moved to the area and stopped in for a budget friendly dinner. The waitress was nice to us and the food came out fast. We ordered a chicken family meal with collards and plantano frito. The chicken and sauces were both good. Not the best I’ve ever had but worth the money and we definitely plan to go back. The collards were tasty and the plantains were AMAZING, the best I’ve ever had. Even better than the ones we ate in Puerto Rico. Very relaxed atmosphere a good place to go if you’re in a hurry and just looking to eat good food and relax.

I like Papa’s Chicken… but only their chicken. I’ve tried other menu items, mostly their side items, which weren’t very good, IMHO. It just seems like most of the venue’s focus is on perfecting the chicken… which they do very well. Mostly friendly service. My staff loves this place but I definitely don’t get the over-hype, lol.

Want to get some good tasting chicken or subs, good service and nice employees this is the spot. Been eating here for years and have never had a complaint.

Do not get the cole slaw. It’s nasty. The chicken is really good and the plantains are cooked more healthily than I’m used to(not greesy and sticky) but are very delicious. I’ll go again.

Gotta stop in and eat at this place. It’s been a staple in the Campsprings Maryland area for a very long time. Used to be called Ghamelis Deli and the name changed but the family and employees remained the same! My favorite is the chicken rotisserie sub with bacon and spicy sauce. They also have really good yuca! I highly recommend you stop by this diamond in the ruff and get your grub on!

I have been to this restaurant about three separate times. Ive ordered the chicken cheese steak each time. They use the rotisserie chicken meat for the sub. It is absolutely delicious. The restaurant has an authentic«hole in the wall» feel. I would recommend it to anyone.

I’ve heard rumors(and read you fellow Unilocalers’ reviews) that there was a great Peruvian chicken place near Andrew’s AFB. I didn’t believe any of them. But today, the little brother wanted to get some items on base and I tagged along, since I had to day off :) Well, the rumors are correct. I used to be ‘married’ to El Pollo Rico in VA, but I no longer have to be in VA to get my Peruvian chicken fix. Now, this place has more than chicken, but that’s what I’ll be coming back for. Bonus over El Pollo Rico is the fact that this place actually has other sides instead of fries and cole slaw. The fried yucca is fantastic, so I’ll be ordering that with my quarter white meat platter every time. Instead of the green beans that I ordered today, however, I’ll try every single other side. Note: Bypass the green beans. They’re canned. That’s the only reason I gave this place a 4 — a 4.5, really. I don’t ‘do’ canned veg… um, anything. Other than that, the chicken was moist and delish with all the spices which is made even better by the jalapeño sauce. Oh, and let’s not forget the little corn muffin that comes with it. YUM. All this happiness for, what, $ 6.50?! I can’t wait to go back — and I’m planning a reason to hit it up this weekend. I mean, I MUST need something from Andrew’s, right?

The heat from the wood-fired oven will hit you as soon as you walk through the door, but so will the smell of some of the most delicious chicken around. I think that I get faster service when I speak Spanish, but maybe that’s my imagination. Either way, it’s worth sticking around for the food, despite the fact that the oven’s heat overwhelms the a/c on a hot day(pick your seat with caution or go with the carryout.) Lomo Saltado is another highlight, as is the yuca frita(It’s tough to get good yuca in Md.) A good spot, so check it out if you are in the area and hungry. By the way, they also have American sandwiches and gyros, but I have a policy of sticking with what people seem to know best. These folks know comida peruana.
