I hate working out. Hate. You know what I love? Netflix… and my couch. I made it almost 30 years without joining a gym or taking a fitness class. Then THIS chick decided to get all healthy and shat and became a personal trainer. Now she has not only gotten me to join a gym in which the monthly fee is auto taken from my account –commitment– but she also has me excited to go 5 days a week –dedication-. Since I am not a fan of anything active she worked with me to create a workout régime that I would actually enjoy, meaning I would stick with it. She approaches me in a way she knows I will respond to; not aggressively or insultingly but subtly and with nice words like ‘great job’ or ‘you look like a butterfly when using that machine’. From what I have heard from her other clients she does the same for them. She not only adjusts the workout/nutrition plans for each individual but she adjusts her approach based on what you will respond to. Not treating everyone the exact same because that isn’t gong to get the most out of each person is a rare quality in trainers. Now she has me lifting weights, doing crunches, and I’ve even figured out how to use the elliptical(seriously, its like its trying to kidnap my legs… that makes me uncomfortable cuz I like having legs…) I’ve been on this plan two months now and, with adjustments here and there so I don’t plateau, I have lost 7lbs and can feel myself getting stronger. Wanna arm wrestle? No. No you don’t. Cuz yes, yes I HAVE been working out. I can actually say things like that now and not be bluffing(another word for lying). I can also put gym clothes on for their rightful purpose and not just to look active when going out to lunch(also lying). So not only will this amazing woman help you get to a point in which you can actually flex your stomach muscles but she will also make you a more truthful person. What other trainer will do that for you? In a million years… or just a lifetime… I never thought I would write a review like this; telling others how much I love sweating at a gym; but here I am. This began with the rolling of eyes at motivational posts on FB and has evolved into my texting her things like ‘OMG I’m actually excited about cardio today!’(actual text). What is that kind of sorcery?!? I can’t tell you if she is an actual witch or not but what I CAN tell you is that if she is able to motivate me into choosing 60 minutes at the gym over binging on Orange is the New Black then she can inspire and get results from anyone!
