Cambrian Go Karts

My scooter’s front brakes were stuck. I brought it to them and Dave gave me a quote that was right on. The guys were super helpful. Got the job done pretty fast.

I have checked every where. It said it was open. I have had no call back in the past 3 hours. I was very disappointed I have been there before and they are usually very accommodating.

Don Sr. and Jr. and all the guys at Cambrian have been taking care of our Minimax for over a year. Rotax are great engines but they also need constant care if you are a serious racer. These guys know Rotax, Birel, EVO upgrades, etc.

I love this kart shop. I bought a quad go kart from them and i still love it. Every time we go back to get work done on it the staff are super friendly. Of course they have to make money to repair your go kart, but its so well worth it.

I’ve been going to Don and Donald for years and they’ve always taken terrific care of me. Just getting ready to get another kart from them and there’s no way that I would continue spending that kind of money with them if I wasn’t completely confident in their service and expertise. They genuinely care about making customers happy.

I dealt with them for a year. They care more about making the sale. Follow-​up customer service is out the window. Good luck, you’ve been warned.

I am very pleased with the service at Cambrian Go Kart.
My wife and I purchased his and hers EcoReco scooters.
It was clear in a couple of days that the speedometer and odometer on one of them wasn’t working correctly. I first tried EcoReco thinking there was a quick ‘re-​set’ that could be done. They were dismissive of the problem.
I took them back to Cambrian irritated that the scooter wasn’t functioning correctly. Don (Sr and Jr) listened patiently to the issue asked that I leave both with them and promised to get them back by the end of the day.
They had them back by the end of the day, and two weeks later they are both working great.
I like a store that stands by what they sell, and services it when something goes works.

Before you let them work on your goped or what ever it is that your bringing in. Make sure you at least get a quote or something.
So I bring in my goped due to it not starting. I know just enough about 2 cycle motor to get me in trouble. I finally gave up and brought it in. Donald sr took down the work order and told me that they would call to let me know what was wrong with it. I thought it would be like if you took your car to a shop to have it diagnosis. There is like a flat fee like $ 65 for example and the mechanic will tell you what’s wrong. You then can decide if you want to have it fix or what not.
Well it’s not the case here. Donald Jr called me the same day and said that they still don’t know what’s wrong with it and they are going to look at it piece by piece. Right there I should have him stop but again I thought it was the whole flat fee of diagnosis. At some point Alex the mechanic, told Donald jr that maybe he should stop working on the motor cause it’s getting real expensive and that a replace motor would be a cheaper route to take. Donald Jr and his f$&@ing GREEDY ass told Alex NO. Keep working on it so we can milk this guy for all he has (he didn’t exactly said that but you get the point. He did tell him to continue to work on it). A new motor would have only cost me $ 270 from DDM. In the end they took me for $ 460!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS!!! AND THE GREEDY BASTARD SAID THATS WITH A DISCOUNT. LOL. At what point did it not occur to you guys that the repair out cost of a new motor. I WOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!! For real!!! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF GREEDY BASTARD!!! I give this place a freaken negative –100!!! SO PISSED OFF!!!

The first time I went there the guys were friendly and non-​pressured. We were happy with our experience. The second time, I called and they weren’t answering their machine in the middle of business hours. Assuming that they were just short-​handed, I made the hour-​drive to Cambrian only to find that they were closed!
What legit business operates this way? No mention on the answering machine, website or facebook page. They weren’t at a race because all their expensive transporters were there. Not even a note on the door.

This place is a bit expensive. Well I guess any form of racing is expensive but the extensive knowledge that these guys have on there merchandise make it worthwhile. I’m new to the karting world and their help has made the introduction rather pleasant. I’m looking forward to getting to know these guys in the upcoming karting series at Sonoma raceway!

I took my son’s Razor kick-​scooter here for some repairs. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in years. If I could give negative stars, I would!
Not only did they not seem to know the general cost of any of the parts off-​hand when I asked for an estimate, nor did they even recognize the model I brought (Black Label 4.0), the co-​owners, Donald Jr. and Donald Sr., kept promising me they would do things or call me back but never did (except maybe twice over a week and a half period).
Then, the parts my son needed for his scooter were not ordered until 2 days after I brought the scooter in, even though I was very clear that my son needed it back asap for his scooter club activities.
When the parts didn’t arrive when they told me they would, they didn’t seem to care and said that they weren’t worried about it, and that they would be there «eventually».
When I kindly complained to both Donalds about how poorly I felt I had been treated and why, they made excuses, didn’t seem to care, and then blew me off and hung up on me.
Donald Sr. even told me that I was «over the top» and that I should just come and get my son’s scooter (even though it had never been fixed)! I was never once rude, disrespectful, or raised my voice.
They had the parts off of the scooter already, in preparation for the part that never came in. Luckily, they were willing to put the old parts back together so that I could pick up the scooter since I was apparently such a bad customer.
After I took it in to another place (which had amazing customer service and the work was done within an hour!), I was told that the parts on the scooter that needed fixing were all on backwards or upside down, and the threads were damaged. I explained that I had not done it, but that it must have been Cambrian Go Karts who installed the parts wrong, since they had just put those parts back on!
I will never go back again and would never recommend them to anyone!

My boss just paid 1K to have a scooter fixed, and when they returned the scooter to the house, the following day it didn’t even start! Cambrain Go Karts had to pick it up again to work on it and haven’t even bothered to call us to tell us what the problem was! It’s now been 3 – 4 weeks since they had it. When I called 1 week ago, they informed me I would need to speak to the owner Donald and he’d call me back. Well guess what, I still haven’t received a call back. Go figure! Even when I called today to speak with him, apparently none of the mechanics were in and no one can see the works orders other than the mechanics.
Stay away from their service center!!! Paying customers don’t even get the service they deserve. The owner Donald doesn’t deserve your money. STAY AWAY!

Cambrian is THE place to go if you need help fixing/​buying/​accessorizing your go kart! The guys here are really cool & helpful, and they’re like kart gurus. one of the guys stayed open late with us because we came from so far away & needed more help. We felt guilty about keeping him after work longer than he had to be, but that just shows you how AMAZING their customer service is.
They really do care about their customers & although their prices are sometimes higher than ordering stuff online, their help & knowledge is more than worth it!

the only few times i went to these guys i was in need of a new carb for my Blata pocket bike and they gave me a different carb and they swear it was going to work so i take it home and guess what? the carb had a crack in it and it didn’t work at all with the intake manifold so i got a different manifold then the throttle cable wasn’t compatible with the carb so after the frustration i took them the whole bike and asked them only to put the carb on since they were so confident it would work (just 2 screws the gas lines and throttle) and start it, i had everything disconnected and ready for the new one and they said OK it would be $ 35.00 when you come and pick it up, i signed a work order to agree to the work being done they never called to let me know when it will be done. then i had to go out of town for a bit, so i asked my mom if she can go get it for me since she was still here in town and she asked them and they said oh yeah its still here but we couldn’t repair it, for the work we did trying to get it working it’ll be $ 100.00? i didn’t agree to any work that was going to be more than $ 35.00… pretty shady. so when i got back in town i got in a huge car accident that broke my neck, crushed my hand, leg, ribs, pelvis, and took 70% muscle in my leg so i was in the hospital 2 months 2 weeks of that i was in a coma so i was recovering for pretty much a year, so the pocket bike wasn’t my main priority at the time. so when i was finally better and able to i started working on my friends go-​peds on the side and had to go there for a part and i asked an employee about my pocket bike while i was there and explained what happened and he said he will have to look in the back room, and that they should still have it cause they never get rid of anything and he took down my name and number and said ill call you tomorrow when we get it out. its been over 2 months still never got a call, still don’t have an explanation, and still don’t have my pocket bike back. they may be very good with go-​karts i don’t know, same with go-​peds, and for sure cant say there good with pocket bikes either, why? because i don’t have one anymore to know what they can do since they still have it, or so they say. so far pretty lame customer service. Cal-​Karts and Andres-​Xtaski needs to make a come back.

I don’t live very close to them, and I haven’t been in there shop and talked to them person to person. But over email they need lots of work. Over the phone they are extremely professional, and over email they are a zero on any scale. They answered my first email, with a very unprofessional «we can try». The next one, I waited 1 month and called them. No answer. I sent another, another month later. No answer. So…

I have a Birel shifter kart chassis and Cambrian is the only local kart shop with full support for Birel/​Monza/​Freeline parts. Their prices are a bit on the high side, but Don and Donald have always been very helpful in answering my questions regarding anything from chassis setup to part recommendations. One thing that would help Cambrian is if they had a merchant website. Their site is rather bland when compared to other kart shops. If they could get that started, I am positive they would better serve the community.

I can’t vouch for their go-​ped knowledge. But I am a long time kart racer and these guys are a class act. Don Sr. builds a great motor and Don jr. is the nicest guy. He is at all of the races and helps as many people as humanly possible. It’s great to have a local shop with honest up front people running it. Their prices can be high. much higher than mail order. But for 90% of my purchases I choose Cambrian because of their level of support and willingness to help out.
