Colonial Restaurant

I got a BBQ sandwich and it was really unappetizing. They used to have good food but now it has declined severely. Everything seems to have come out of a package or can.

If it had not happened to me, I would not have believed it!!! We found this place about 18 months ago. Our daughter attends a major university just 7 miles away. We have eaten here 3 or 4 times before. As we live 4 ½ hours away I have tried to plan our visits to the college so that when it’s time to eat, we stop in. NEVER AGAIN! We had dinner 1÷10÷15 and the food as before was Ok. Yes it’s southern comfort food but sometimes it leaves you a little uncomfortable. The atmosphere is what you would expect, nice, clean and the wait staff is friendly. The owner or lady-​in-​charged stopped by our table that evening and asked us the typical «is everything alright.» It was and we told her that we always stop in when ever we are in town, yada, yada, yada,… Paid the bill at the check-​out and left a nice tip for the waitress. I asked the younger lady what time their hours where on Sunday as we planned to stop back by. She said from 7:00-until 3:00. That sounded right to me. Now here is the issue. She could have said it wrong or I could have heard it wrong but I left thinking ok we can come back on Sunday. We arrive at 2;10 on Sunday and were met at the door by the same lady we talked with the night before. She was seeing another couple out and gave us a «you are not coming in here look» like I have never had. I explained to her about my conversation with the check-​out girl but she didn’t care. WE HAVE NEVER BEEN OPEN AFTER 2:00 on SUNDAY and shut the door in our face. The other local couple was surprised that she talked to us like that as well. I have never in my life had that happen. Now this is America and you have the right to open and close whenever you want but when did being RUDE come into style? Other customers were still eating and we would have been happy to eat anything – even the lousy baked spaghetti from the night before! Knowing that we were trying to support a «mom and pop» business is what blows my mind when they treat you this way!!! Told my daughter about this and she said Dad you always think the best of people and are disappointed when something like this happens but I picked up on the attitude/​rudeness when we first ate there! Goes without saying but we won’t be back!!!

Flounder was great and rice pudding tasted homemade! Home cooked food and atomsphere! Pricing is very reasonable and service was good. The atomsphere was a little noisy, but for a home cooked meal this in the place.
