Jack in the Box

The other night on the way home from my underwater ballet class I stopped and purchased a breakfast jack to go… it was burnt and had shells in it plus lots of grease! Yuk!

I never thought I would leave bad review for jack-​in-​a-​box, but here it goes:
Undercooked chicken in #12 Sandwich.
I’m not sure how they did it, but it was worse than just undercooking. Horrible. I had to throw it out. Homeless people get way better meal for free.

The service in the fast food line was ridiculous. He completely screwed up our order. Not once, but twice. We had to finally go inside to straighten out our orders.

I just really enjoy Jack in the Box. Usually get the Ultimate Cheese burger or the same w/​bacon option. YUM! I’ve always used the drive-​thru at this location so I can’t speak to what the inside is like.

Second time It happen to me at this location they they messed up order at drive trough. First time I ordered for my kids and for my self and when I drove of we checked bags and my order is completely missing. Ok things happens I went back they apologize with no problems they get my order that was still in the kitchen. Today I ordered again for my kids only and one that I ordered plain came with cheese, my kid didn’t want to eat it. And we ordered 3 fry’s and one soda they gave me extra fry’s and no soda. When I drove off didn’t feel like coming back. Not sure if we will come back.

I love this place because its close to work and the managers are always nice. My orders are always fresh and cooked exactly like i order it! Great job you all!!!

Beside McDonalds, Jack n. the Box is probably the fast food place I most frequent because there are tons of them around and, unlike McDonalds, they are open all night. I don’t eat at fast food restaurants as often anymore because they are fattening. When I used to eat at Jack n the Box all the time, I would get the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich and the curly fries. I also love their cheesecake and Raspberry ice tea. They have a lot of yummy different things on their menu like the Fajita Pita and the Bacon and cheddar wedges too. I also like their commercials. They are probably some of the funniest out there. The people at the drive through are exceedingly nice and always ask me how my experience was. They probably have some of the best customer service people of any fast food chain. All the locations I’ve been to, they are fast, friendly and efficient.

Went thru the drive-​thru to get a couple of tacos… Placed my order and it took a bit of time to get my order completed on the screen.
Then upon driving to the pay window, I found out why… The only person who seemed to be working there was quite busy!
I watched impressed as she prepared a milk shake for a customer, took another drive-​thru order and took my payment. Yes, all smoothly and at the same time!
My order was completed accurately but I ended up waiting longer than normal
Would help if this poor lady had some

Anyway, kudos to this lady, she handled stress like a pro!

OK, so Jack in the Box isn’t the greatest night out on the town. But, the food here is hot, and you don’t feel like you got cheated like you do with a lot of other fast food joints. This place is cleaner than most, too. I do like this store better than most of the other fast food joints in town, so for a chain that is usually kind of gringy, I like this place. Not to say that a place with a quiet atmosphere and a nice bottle of italian wine wouldn’t be better. Still, not too bad here.

Chicken teriyaki bowl was good. I liked how the rice had an ample amount of sauce. Decent amount of chicken and broccoli. The drive-​through line was quite long but moved along.
My biggest complaint about this location is the parking and exit. There’s only one drive way for non drive-​through customers. The lot is tiny and nearly impossible to exit when there’s a long line.
Getting onto Bascom can also be a challenge.
If you can walk there, do that… I probably won’t be back anytime soon unless it’s during non-​meal time hours.

Don’t go through the drive though here, they will screw up your order. Multiple times myself and various co-​workers have come here for lunch and returned to the office with nothing resembling their order. I have personally had food missing, extra food I didn’t order and just plain wrong food (monterey jack, jalapeño wedges when I ordered bacon, cheddar wedges).
I watched two employees argue over my order for 5 minutes as they were bagging it, then hand it to me only to have me check and tell them they missed 4 items. Then check again and still find when I finally get to the office that they screwed stuff up.
The only way to get exactly what you ordered from here is to sit at the window and check every single item before you leave.

We came here to get our daughters a shake, but even a small shake is too much for them. The following conversation ensued.
My husband — «Hi, do you have child sized shakes?
Person taking our order — „No, we do not.“
Hubz — „Hmm, ok, can I order a small strawberry shake split into two cups?“
PTOO — „Naw, we can’t do that.“
Hubz -» Okay, can you give me an extra cup?“
PTOO — «Yes…»
Hubz — «Okay, that would be great. I’ll have a small strawberry shake and an extra cup.»
PTOO -«…Do you want whipped cream and a cherry on that?»
Hubz -«Yes please.»
PTOO «WELL THEN HOW YOU GOING TO SPLIT IT???»
Hilariously WTF. When we got to the window, the very nice lady there had two perfect half shakes with whipped cream and a cherry on both, and seemed like perhaps she had just kicked an employee’s ass.

Jack in the crack’s always been consistently good. This drive thru though… The Magdalena chick couldn’t hear my order after 3 repeats, messed it up on the screen and had the nerves to be annoyed with ME.
All I gotta say is… If my bros suffer diarrhea, we all know why. Damn right, I cut her an attitude.
Can’t believe I just Unilocaled a fast food chain. This is gettin’ stoooopid.

Disclaimer: I hate fast food; after all, the reason they call it fast food is because you have to eat it fast, or else you might actually taste it! So, the following review may be colored by that perception, but…
Jack in the Box is terrible. That’s really all there is to say.
I used to come to it pretty regularly during college and shortly thereafter because the South Bay was just starved for late night dining options, and I really didn’t have much choice even as recently as five years ago. That said, things are greatly improving on this front, and I haven’t been to Jack in the Box since.
To its credit, Jack in the Box does have a very friendly staff. Even in the context of driving through the restaurant, I’ve had their staff ask me about my life, and how I’m doing. They also seem to remember me very well from visit to visit, so kudos to Jack in the Box for finding people that represent them well.
That said, the food is pretty bad, by and large, especially since they keep discontinuing all the items I actually like! I used to like their Chipotle Chicken Ciabatta. Canned. Then, I went for their mini-​buffalo chick sandwiches. 86’ed.
You know, with luck like that, I wouldn’t normally post the item that I currently order, except that it’s literally been a year since the last time I went to Jack in the Box, so I really don’t care if they remove it from the menu anymore! My current favorite is the deli meat trio, hold the pickles. It’s three deli meats and cheese. It’s salami, ham, turkey, provolone cheese, all bathed in a creamy Italian dressing.
That one is pretty edible, so if you’re like me and you hate fast food, but need something to order, it may not be the worst option in the world.
That said, it’s certainly not enough to get me to return to Jack in the Box on my own accord!

They have great service and They’ve never messed up my funny and sometimes weird order. Nef said!

You don’t have many options when it’s past 2am and you are out of food in your house, don’t want to go grocery shopping at 2am, and are being lazy… and possibly not sober.
Anyhow, this Jack was cracking with the lines extending out to the street. Made me nostalgic for the good old h.s. days and how it was also very packed back then on the east side though.
The girls were quick with the order, nice/​friendly even at that hour dealing with drunks/​weirdos. Nothing was left out of my order which included the sauces. Nothing is more frustrating than when you get home to eat your crispy, fried, death tacos and you can’t find the dang hot sauce. Luckily for me, she threw in like 10 of them. Sweet.
I would like try to stay away from junk food but I’m sure there will be a time where I’ll given in and come running back. I prefer this one to the location on Hamilton also.
Oh yeah, my fatty side wanted to let the other fellow fatty’s know that the milkshake… brings all the boys to the yard! Wait what? No I meant… uh the strawberry milkshakes are bomb. Yes, that was it…

love the jambo breakfast. Service is nice and staff very polite.

Oreo Cookie Shake!
Jack in the box has always been one of the better fast food places for me. great late night snacks available. or if you are really hungry they have food that will fill you up. One of my favorites is the oreo cookie shake… now i just found out after I had ordered that they have mint oreo cookie shakes… YAH! i love chocolate mint… i will have to try one soon.

At 2am when you’ve had too much to drink and you’re craving some good grub to munch on Jack in the Box is the place to be. I always get either 1, 2, or all 3 of the items below. Having a variety of Jack in the Box delights is such a treat when you’re wasted.

*Breakfast Croissant
