James Cole Photography

James Cole was the photographer for my son’s Bar Mitzvah on February 16^th in Palo Alto, CA. He did a fantastic job, and these are the reasons why:
1) The Photography — the pictures he delivered were simply excellent. He did an amazing job of capturing my son’s emotions as well as the events of the day in his work. Family and friends whom have seen the photos have all said they are truly breathtaking. I posted a few on Facebook, and all of the comments were very positive. These are not your everyday pictures; everyone can tell that a professional was able to capture the mood and atmosphere of the subjects.
2) Customer Service and Care — Besides being a really gracious person, Jim did two things that made a big difference for me. First, he consulted the Rabbi on her comfort zones in terms of photography during the service. He understands the sensitivity of shooting a religious service, and made a point to explain what exactly he would be doing so that our Rabbi would not be disturbed by his activities. Second, he completely scouted the location to determine lighting conditions, equipment and layout for our space. He made the extra effort to be part of «internal team» that was coordinating the event.
3) Delivery — Not only did Jim take magnificent pictures of the Bar Mitzvah, but we had them at our fingertips within few days of the event. There was no waiting or wondering when we might see the pictures. He communicated to us exactly when he would complete the editing and review of his work, and when we would have access to it online. He was always very clear with his communication so we could manage our expectations of him.
Mostly, it is important that I state how well Jim understood our family needs and expectations. He «got us» and made things easy for us during a stressful time. It was pleasure to have him there during this major event in our lives. I feel incredibly lucky that Jim was able to fit us into his schedule. The Bar Mitzvah was such an important event in our lives, and Jim delivered excellent work that captures all of the emotions of the day in the many images he delivered us.
