Jewell’s Quality Home System’s

We used Jewell’s at the recommendation of our contractor for an alarm system, security cams, and in-​wall vacuum. The vacuum works fine. The alarm system, we have already swapped out to ADT because the controller provided by Jewell’s was unduly complicated, and offered absolutely no remote access control to set or turn off your alarm.
The really bad news was the security cams, which very expensive, and require a PoE switch in your network to power them. The cameras themselves are fine, but Jewell’s could hardly ever get them to work for remote viewing. If you are home on your network fine, but the ability to view remotely (one of the key purposes of having exterior security cams) kept crashing. After the first «fix» (which didn’t last), there was absolutely ZERO customer support responsiveness. I’m now paying another company to try and get them configured properly, which is seemingly yet another problem with Comcast. Given Comcast is a dominant broadband provider, you would expect Jewell’s to provide a solution that would work, especially for the expense put into this.

Bottom line: Do NOT use these guys for security cams. They provide a «solution» that isn’t.

The installers are great, they definitely know their trade and are very efficient. There is a tendency to oversell you or tell you that you need equipment after installation. We had several issues after installation and never got a straight answer, it was always a fact of buying the «upgraded» version or what we had or a new one. Customer service is not their forte. Other companies authorized by the brands they carry don’t have good things to say about them. The prices are good, but it will cost you more after all the upgrades and the time invested in fixing your issues.

Jewell’s Quality Home Systems is very efficient and priced right for low voltage home wiring. Although very busy and initially hard to reach, they gave a very complete quote and priced very favorably. They showed up when promised and completed the work efficiently. The Comcast installer who followed them in said it was «outstanding workmanship and easy to find cables which were labeled and organized well». I recommend them for any low voltage wiring.
