Another victim of Unilocal and mean Unilocalers. Unfair negative reviews kick a business in the gut on the one bad day where a waiter or an employee doesn’t do a good job. Unilocalers will get their way when all restaurants are out of business. Until only Mcdonalds and Taco Bell remain.

Ive noticed this place getting some rather ridiculous reviews, i go there maybe once a week or so and seeing what people say on here startles me. First off, this isnt a fancy resturaunt, its good food thats affordable and every once in a while an order or two gets messed up. If youre expecting hardcore indian food then youve come to the wrong place… but its definitley the next best thing. Staff: Super friendly, great management. Food: tasty and flavorful Price: reasonable and on the cheaper side i mean 13 bucks gets you a whole dinner there. Ive had some orders that came out wrong but the staff there is great they always and make sure that my next visit is even better than the last.

Had the worst experience here yesterday… My girlfriend and I frequent the multiple Tandoori Oven locations and decided to grab dinner here but on this day, it seemed the entire staff was at ends with each other and were arguing in front of customers. I can put the prior behind because people have bad days, it happens but after 20+ minutes of waiting and not receiving food, that’s when things become unacceptable. My girlfriend’s food came out very fast and the waitress said mine should be on it’s way soon. 20 minutes later my girlfriend has finished her meal and I go inside to check on the status of mine and the person at the counter says they haven’t even put the ticket up to the window for it to have even been started. Not only that, I asked for a refund and the person at the counter gave me attitude, walked away from the register and had to have someone call the manager or boss to come in and finish the transaction. I would say I would never order from them again but they’re planning on closing that location at the end of the month which seems like it’s for the best.

Worst Indian food I have ever had. The service was bad too. Ordered for chole bathure in which bathure were too crispy and oily. Tandoori chicken was stale and too much of food color. The plate comes with a naan and chef was so sloppy that he didn’t even put the naan in tandoor until chicken was finished of which more than half had to be thrown due to its look, taste & preparation. And when I asked the server he told me he told the chef multiple times and he too is waiting. And when I told him how the food is and he said that it depends how chef cooks. Well, Thats the worst response I have ever got. This rest is closing and now we know Why? With this it needs too. Not sure if other locations of this rest are the same but I am never going to one of it again.

Worst Restaurant Experience Ever !!! I have never written any review on Unilocal before, but this experience compelled me to share my terrible experience with others. I went with my buddy on Thursday night 5 minutes before the closing(9:25 pm). A server bluntly refused to take our order saying that they were closed. When I pointed that the time is 9:25 pm(NOT9:30 pm), he said it’s 9:30 in his wrist watch and«that’s what matters». Though, people were eating there and kitchen was also open(and he was serving the food himself to a table). Then, I talked to another girl(with the braces) on the register, why you guys are refusing us service. This guy came rushing in and THREATENED us to leave, saying otherwise he would call the security. So, he refuses to provide us service(for no apparent reason) and when I questioned why, he threatens us !!! I asked for the Manager and the manager was not available. The girl apologized for the behavior after realizing that I will complain to the manager. This is the worst experience ever. Forget about the quality of the food, can’t imagine getting my food served by people with that attitude and rudeness. I wish I could give them ZERO star!

Tasteless bilge. Worst Indian food I’ve ever tasted. Maybe their backup cook was on shift? We ordered chk tikka masala at dinner($ 12 not particularly cheap) and saag paneer. The masala was tasteless. Paneer was watery. No flavor. We went to the bascom branch in pruneyard on thu apr 24 . Tastes much worse than mcdonalds.

Wanted to go to the Sports Basement, got hungry stopped here next door. Ambience 1 star, décor 1 star, toilet smelled funky, no air extractor, 0 stars. Food, tried the cholay and naan which was good, not really spicy, the kids went with cholay bhatura which they enjoyed, no waiter service, self service. Food is good, prices are decent. Wish the décor, ambience and rest rooms amenities were upgraded 3 stars as is

The portion sizes are great! we ordered samosa appetizer and chicken tikka masala as an entrée, and we had enough for 2 people + leftovers for $ 20.

This place is disgusting! More like Americanized Indian food. The curry is super bland and has no flavor whatsoever. Waited over 30 mins for our food when this place isn’t a full restaurant. The cashier said they ran out of chicken and had to make more… really? Why couldn’t you tell us that before we ordered? Don’t waste your time and money coming here its absolutely gross!

Where to begin? Food: * Bland — Chicken Tikka Masala * Bland — Naan * Bland — Soup Bland should never be the word used to describe Indian food. On top of this I paid $ 22 dollars for my dinner plus 1 beer. Never come here. Ever. Ever.

Love this place for fast Indian food. This is a great place to first try Indian food. This place is great for lunch and dinner. It’s a very casual setting. My favorite is the chicken or lamb curry. Yummy!!! The lunch portion comes with the main curry with meat and either rice or naan. The dinner portion comes with rice and naan and some side potato dish. I love coming here, point blank and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Really really nice staff. The food is good, the restaurant and restrooms are always clean. I deducted one star because the amount of meat included with each dish with a sauce is very small. I’d bump this review up to 5 stars if they increase the meat included with the meals.

I’ve been coming to this location for a few years now and have enjoyed the food. My most recent visit the service was terrible. New girl taking the order messed up one of the orders. When wrong dish came to the table, we told the server. The cashier came out and argued with us about it. Instead of saying«there must have been a misunderstanding, let us bring you what you wanted», she waved the receipt in our faces(which we were never given) and basically told us too bad, we sere stuck with the wrong order. We asked for a manager, so some other guy came out and he offered to bring us what we thought we had ordered. No apologies or anything. We are very reasonable people and don’t expect things to be perfect, but the attitude of the persons working here was awful. I would like to chalk it up to just a bad night, but I see these other recent reviews and other Unilocalers are complaining of poor service as well. Too bad, this has been my go to Indian food place.

Tandoori Oven at this location(in Pruneyard plaza) is the worst Indian food place. There was a Mexican guy who was serving and it seems was also the manager of the place. Incident: We once went there for the lunch and ordered chole bhature, chicken biryani, and mango lassi. Mango lassi was not fresh(probably left over from day before) so didn’t taste good. Chole was one of the worst. When we started eating biryani we realized that it doesn’t have chicken in it. Then we told the server that maybe he has messed up the order and brought us veg biryani instead. He said that they put only 2 small chicken pieces in the biryani(wth…is it a treasure hunt? lol)… When we told him again that we still can’t find chicken in it and even he can try searching in it… he went back and brought us 2 chicken pieces from their chicken curry entrée and said«this is the only thing that he can give»…Worst !!! He doesn’t even know what chicken biryani is. Anyways, the rice was one of lowest class rices that we had in our life. No taste, no flavor. The place is run by some part time non-Indian students who doesn’t know how to cook Indian food. No doubt, the whole place was full(lunch time, office people) but we were the only Indians there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone this place.

I have very limited opportunities having Indian Cuisine and it isn’t my usual meal of choice and I’m not a fan of spicy foods. This Tandoori Oven just happened to be next to Sports Basement that I was going to pick up some running things. Overall, the meal was good. I liked the Mango Lassi and helped with the(i think are) spicy Chicken Tikka Massala. My boyfriend likes spicy so that is a standard dish he gets. Definitely like the Naan bread and rice. The restaurant is clean and well kept, but doesn’t seem like its considered«Authentic Indian.» I would return to a Tandoori Oven but probably not my first choice for a meal.

I have been to Tandoori several times, have tried their a la carte & combo meals and have never been disappointed. However, this review is for their Bombay Veggie Burger with Masala fries, which happens to be a recent addition to their menu(Chicken Burger was also recently added). The burger was AWESOME– patty was crisp & thin, bun was fresh & soft, served hot, portion size was just right. Masala fries were just average, there was no masala at all, the fries were rather bland :(Also, tried a la carte– Kofta curry with Naan & Mango Lassi– both were yum! Tandoori is a no frill eating joint where food is great, prices are affordable, service is fast & staff is friendly. Décor is nothing exceptional, but this location in Campbell is good and has both indoor & outdoor seating. All in all, a reliable Indian food joint that never disappoints you. Tip: Don’t forget to check out their Happy Hour discounts– 50% off appetizers, A la carte curries/wraps– $ 6& discount on beverages.

This random dude came by our office to sell us the Entertainment coupon book. These are these booklet of coupons where you can get lots of deals from restaurants and such. We have been using this book for lunch inspiration. It had been a while since I had Tandoori Oven, and since there was a «buy one get one free wrap» we figured it was time to eat there again. We get to the counter to order. The gal at the front was very pleasant but had to inform us they were not accepting these coupons as apparently the Entertainment book included them into their offering without their permission. TIP: If you have a coupon for Tandoori Oven, call ahead to check if they are honoring it. There seems to be some mass confusion with some of the coupon books and the stores. On to the review. Tried the a la carte Chicken Tikka Masala. Comes with a choice of naan or rice. Went with the naan. Come out fast. It was hot, spicy and tasty. I love Chicken Tikka Masala, and it seems like most Indian restaurants around here know how to make it right. No exception here. It was very good. A little soupy and could use a little more chicken, but in general it hit the spot. The naan is very good. The naan was less oily than some other Indian restaurants, but still very crispy. Last time I was at Tandoori Oven, I had the wrap and it is very good. A little twist on the Indian theme, but definitely fresh and tasty. Some fundamentals of the Tandoori Oven Campbell experience: Parking: It’s in the Pruneyard, so you know what the next sentence is going to be. Parking is lame. If you find a spot, just take it and make the long walk to wherever your destination is. Ambiance: Casual and modern. Good patio and nice high ceilings. Not too loud, and lots of tables. Crowd: Decent size crowd today, but not too crazy. Staff: Hipsterish and friendly. Price: A little high for the portions, but not excessive. Food: Very good and less heavy than some Indian alternatives. Ordering Process: Order at a counter, they bring it out to your table. Glad to see this location has a nice volume of customers. Good Indian options, especially if you are looking for a lighter Indian option.

We ordered the food and it came pretty quick. I ordered a wrap & my child ordered the chicken kabob appetizer because the kid items were for kids who didn’t want Indian food. The«main course was good, but the cucumber side salad lacked flavor. We also ordered $ 1.00 Samosas because we had a fountain drink, they came with cooked chick peas, which I liked over the samosa. The food was good, but there are other Indian«fast food» restaurants that I prefer more.

I would definitely say that I have had a better priced and more filling and authentic Indian meals in my time. Tandoori oven is a bit like the Baja Fresh of Mexican, not quite the Taco Bell but getting there. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala plate with naan. It was pretty much your standard but not too flavorful or anything to report. I wish I had got the garlic naan for a bit more flavor. It also wasn’t too filling, probably a good idea to opt for rice if you are eating at this place for dinner. I wish their was a bit more variety to this place — though it fits well with certain audiences I love Indian food to taste like it is from a family’s kitchen — not so much the case with this place. Thought it did do the job for dinner, I have just eaten at one too many Indian places to know what I like.
