Food was ok. Fries were overcooked. My wife ordered their Ham and Turkey and Bacon Sandwich and it was delicious. Thick Ham and Thick Turkey and Thick Bacon. Very good. Frustrated because I couldn’t change my son’s diaper in the men’s room. There is room against the wall as well as in the handicap stall like other restaurants. Hard to take my family to a restaurant where I can’t change my son.

I may update review when I come back to try more stuff. Came here to try some BBQ but didn’t want to get hands dirty, noticed they offer smoked meats, so went for smoked pork lion. That was decent, but wish they gave a larger plate of meat, me being a meat lover. Comes pre-sliced, and I didn’t notice much of a smoky flavor to them, but at least not bad in flavor & texture. I got a side of coleslaw, and it’s amusing this place serves it with horseradish by default, to which I didn’t know, so be prepared for kick if you expect standard slaw with mayo. They also serve the slaw with sauce drizzled on top rather than thoroughly mixed(although the drizzle has adequate coverage) and the cabbage is sliced thicker than your average slaw. The thicker cabbage slices & horseradish sure make an interesting combo for coleslaw, I took a liking to it but others might not.

Loved it! I ordered a la carté style: under $ 18 and left satisfied with some cold salad to take home

Love the food and the service. And, the bakery items are awesome! Great family restaurant and for couples, too.

We like their food a lot. Their ribs, chicken bbq is pretty good. We also like their breakfasts. What we don’t like is the atmosphere and the overall condition of the restaurant-including the restrooms. This restaurant should remodel-soon. Real soon. They have already lost so much business because when people dine out they want not only good food, but pleasant surroundings.

With high expectations, I would soon be disappointed. Seconds after sitting down, I noticed a raw burger patty on the floor of kitchen right under the stove/cooler. I watch the cook reach by it and not even clean it up. The same cooler that stored the raw hamburger meat wouldn’t even secure properly, compromising the temperature to keep the meat from growing bacteria. Plus my coleslaw was dry, left out dressing, and they changed my order without asking. Over priced $ 70 bill with mediocre food if that…

Prices are pretty high considering the quality of food. The breakfast food is poor: uncooked hash browns, salty porkchops that were cooked over other meat grease, and bad service. The hostess dresses like they’re about to go to the gym. Unprofessional! However the pies, soups, and burgers are great!

If I could give it zero stars I would! Service was horrible. How do you only have one waitress and one busboy at lunch hour??? I waited 15mins for a glass of water and then I asked him for a menu and he seemed bothered by it. The waitress passed me up several times and didn’t even acknowledge me. I eventually left since I only had so much allotted time for lunch. What made it more sad was that the owner’s daughter was there and she was not attentive and other patrons seems to get more attention then others! Crappy service! Very disappointed! Go somewhere else!!!

Today was the last time I will eat at Hickory Pit for breakfast. I have given them multiple chances and even spoken with the manager about the same issue. My food is always under cooked. I ask for eggs over medium and they are slimy. I ask for eggs hard and they are slimy. I send food back almost every time I have eaten there. Bacon barley cooked, hash browns barley cooked. Plus when I say something about it they just say oh I’m sorry. Then expect me to pay for it. This morning I asked for eggs hard. And they came slimy so my breakfast was sent back and eggs still slimy. It cost $ 13.49 and NOTWORTHIT. BREAKFASTWASVERYDISAPOINTING. I DONOTLIKERAWFOOD. Plus when I got home I ended up with diarrhea from eating food that was not cooked enough. Waitress was very nice it is not her fault. Management and cooks need replacement.

The dining experience and breakfast deserves a 3.5, but the pies deserve 5 stars… Our neighbors love this place so they invited us out for breakfast over the weekend. Nothing fancy about this restaurant and love the fact that you could actually smell a hint of Hickory wood/smoke in the air. They ran out of menus and we had to share, which is fine but there wasn’t a long line out the restaurant or anything. Breakfast — They offer a little bit of everything from the basics, omelet’s, benedicts, pancakes, etc. I had a ham and cheese omelet with hashbrowns and toast. Everything was pretty basic, but everything was heavily cooked in butter. The side of bacon my wife got was the highlight though. Super thick, smokey and cooked perfectly. So breakfast is average IMO. Got a couple of pies to go; Coconut and some pie that’s called SF something. Coconut pie was beautiful, from the flaky crust, perfectly balanced coconut cream to the thick whip ontop with little shavings. Reminded me of Hawaii… for the chocolate lovers, do GETTHESF pie. Its a oreo crust with a nice smooth chocolate cream/mouse. Its pretty awesome and the prices of the pies were pretty reasonable. I’d come back for the pies and bacon: D

This is in the old school diner style. Both times we’ve been here the service was outstanding. All of the dishes we’ve had here were good sized portions and they were all very tasty. The coleslaw is different but I really enjoyed it. I got some of it to take home with me. I would definitely return if in the area.

I’m sorry. It so cute-ish inside. And our waitress was nice, but the food was just there. Inside was depressing, and with so many great options in the area I can not justify anything more than 2 stars for Denny’s food and more kitsch.

Make sure to verify with wait staff as you place your order what they’re charging you extra for. Order an omelette with chicken, they won’t tell you they will charge you an additional $ 6.95 on top of the $ 12. $ 18 for an omelette with chicken? Craziness in Campbell. Sat at the counter and had poor service. I’ll go back to the Breakfast Place in Campbell. Lady who took my order didn’t deserve a «service tip». She didn’t inform me of extra charge, someone else brought my food and I had to ask the hostess for my bill. I’ve been here before and had better service.

I was born and raised in the bay area and somehow never gave this place a try. :p It’s definitely a type of diner establishment that makes you feel like you’re in a small town. There’s numerous pig paraphernalia everywhere, which is adorable, but also made me feel slightly guilty after I just finished my pork… lol. For dinner I had the original pork ribs with a side of macaroni salad and garden salad. The meal also included baked beans and corn. Overall, everything was tastey. The ribs were slightly tough, but it still sufficed, and I really like how the barbecue sauce is served on the side. I also tried some of my husband’s chicken that he ordered and it was amazing. Flavorful and juicy :) Our server was Casey and he had us cracking up the entire time and I’m not even sure if he realizes how funny he is. Lol. He was also checking on us occasionally and made sure we had a pleasant experience. I’ll definitely be back again one day when I’m in the mood for barbecue!

The smell is exquisite for those who love a good smoke! But food is lackluster and wouldn’t even come close to true southern BBQ. Had their 3 item meat platter. NY steak was well done vs medium rare, barely Luke warm like cooked years ago and tough as hide. No smoke. ST louis rib had a good run but also cold and no smoke ring and tough. No fall off home here! They only smoke for 2 hours, heck I can do that. Service was the only true value here … If food was of same calibur … Loss of $ 40 meal… Waste

Never judge a book by its cover. We ordered the original ribs, tri tip and their sauce was so good. Their beans that came with the ribs were great. If you are looking for a good hearty rib meal, come here. Even the kids meal ribs were big. We ordered the Dutch apple pie a la mode for desert. Good hearty meal with good diner prices. They cater for parties too. Order the orange sherbet. It’s good. Also, wrong hours on Unilocal.6am to 9pm or later.

Definitely similar to a diner type of establishment. Friendly servers, vast menu, tvs from the ceiling, and mostly an older crowd. I ordered the half chicken with french fries(got spicy fry upgrade for about $ 0.70 more — worth it!). The spicy fries were like curly fries. Yummy! The dish automatically came with a side of ranch and bbq sauce, so this place immediately rose to the top of the list for me. They serve complementary beans and corn, so that was a nice addition to the meal too. Pretty large portions and worth checking out if you are a bbq fan! Not my favorite, but it was a nice«pit» stop anyway!

Go for the PIES!!! They have tasty fresh pies. I had a Dutch Apple pies yesterday afternoon and it was satisfying. We also had the BBQ chicken. It was ok. Not the most memorable of chickens but the pie was definitely memorable! Our waitress was also fantastic. She was super friendly and kept coming by to fill up my iced tea. Love the service and the pie. Will definitely go back for dessert in the near future.
