This place is awesome! Best breakfast around and great service! I liked the country fried steak and eggs. Biscuits and gravy and bacon. Mmmm good

Anyone who has been to Bob Evans more than once knows that it’s a low quality experience with not much satisfaction. So, if you factor that in, this was a pretty average experience for Bob Evans. Granted, it was busy the last time that we went, but only because they weren’t utilizing all of their tables. News Flash: it’s a service industry. Servers should be expected to handle more than two tables at once, and if they can’t, give them some kind of technology to do so. We went in here for breakfast, and we just weren’t impressed at all. We ordered hot chocolates with our meals and my wife specifically requested no whip cream(she hates it), and what do they give her? Whipped cream. The next few mugs, they didn’t even fill all the way, including mine, which I did get whipped cream in. Everything was flavorless, and don’t even get me started about their sausage gravy! That has got to be one of the worst tasting items on the planet! Then, when we do get past our cold food, slow service, and poor quality, and make our way to the counter to pay, we find a manager who not only wasn’t dressed professionally(button up, and wear a tank top under your sheer work shirt), but then instructs us that we have to run the debit card as a credit and press some weird combo of buttons to do so. Mind you, this is posted nowhere, and she seemed annoyed having to tell us this. We’re definitely not going to be in a rush to come back here!

Bob Evans in general is fine. I’m sure there is a regular crowd who likes to eat here. I’m not one of them(yet :)), but yesterday I wanted to treat my aunt, who is sick, to a comforting carryout lunch from Bob Evans. I’ve never experienced such a carryout cluster-fudge before. There were half a dozen people all hovered around the same counter either picking up food or paying for their dine-in meals. No one knew who was in line for what, or if they even were in a line. I literally asked each person in line if they were in the line to pick up carryout and everyone shrugged. The person taking payments for food was also on the phone taking carryout orders while all of our carryout food got cold on the counter. If you’re calling in ahead, it should be a quick and easy process. Bob Evans seems to have had more than enough time to figure out processes for this. I’m sure it can’t be this bad at all the locations. Hence, further backing up my theory that Canal Winchester restaurants, save a few good ones like Shades, are allergic to money. To top it off, my aunt’s ½ of a ham and cheese sandwich had a half slice of bread for the bottom and a quarter of a slice on top, so all of the innards of her sandwich were exposed. How does that happen? Didn’t you just make a whole sandwich and cut it in half? How would the top slice be half the size of the bottom slice? How is that acceptable? Did you look at the sandwich before you wrapped it up or did you just say«eff it»? I just can’t…

Terrible experience, first we walk in and there’s no host or hostess a waitress takes us to a random table another waitress with attitude waited 35 minutes and still no food ! No one apologized no one asked so we just asked to pay for our drinks and coffee and left ! Never go back there again

Its the worst experience i ever had. Walked in no one told us where to sit. Took them 35 min to make our order. And our waitress was so calm as if nothing wrong happened. We end up leaving with out eating and we will never return again.

We’ve been here for an hour and haven’t been served yet! We’re just sitting down our drinks haven’t been filled and there are multiple tables open. A manager hasn’t even been out to see how we are doing. Our waitress hasn’t even been around for about 15 minutes. I have never been to a Bob Evans that is so unorganized! And unprepared in my life! Everything is dirty tables weren’t cleaned and our food hasn’t arrived. We’ve been waiting over an hour for our food! They need new management or better servers!!! This is pathetic!

If you have a big family and you want to take them out to lunch dont take them to Bob Evans in Canal Winchester. We waited over an hour for our arty of 6 to be called to be seated and yes there were lots of people waiting to be seated but to our surprise when they finally seated us we at least counted 8 empty tables clean and ready to go EMPTY! we ordered and our food came and the tables still sat EMPTY! WTH! Lol. So we ordered drinks my wife got root beer and I got a diet coke when the waitress comes back with the drinks she looks at her tray and takes a glass and stick it up to her nose and said«yep this is the root beer» lol never seen that before.

I have been to this Bob Evens for the past 3 Sundays and i am hooked on their chef salad. It is heath and the service staff been freindly. I have had 3 different servers and it been great. I recomand this bob evens to anyone that wants a great salad.

I love this place. Great food and great service. I came in for Sunday breakfast and was greeted by a nice blond young man. Our server was nice and friendly. Our food came out as ordered and Tastey. A large group came in and out waitress had to bounce between us and them. The blond greeter jumped into help since we were close to the door to refresh our coffee. Great team work.

We love Bob Evans and have been to many, but we left this branch rather disappointed. The waitress was hardly ever seen. I even asked my wife once if we did have a waitress as we never saw her. The manager came out to check on us to see if everything was okay and she looked like she had been spackling drywall for the entire day. We all looked at each other after the manager left and wondered if the messy and grotesque looking manager really did just appear at our table. Some of our food was burnt too. A couple other small things(like dirty restrooms) left us thinking that next time we’ll drive a little longer or further to the next Bob Evans. I hope management steps up and fixes these things, so this branch can be a good representation for Bob Evans.

This is the worst Bob Evans I have ever been to! We keep giving them another chance but I am done with them. The food is horrible, the service is horrible! Once I was given the wrong food and was asked by the waiter if I would eat it anyway. Not many places to eat in Canal but don’t even waste your time or money this place. When all goes wrong you will get offered a free cookie!

We’ve been coming to this Bob Evans for 5 years and up until about 6 months ago had great service. For the last 6 months the service and wait time have gotten horrible. We tried again today, got there @ 2:00 there were several couples/families waiting for tables. The host seemed like he didn’t have a clue what he was doing, there was a whole section of tables open and no one was being seated. The manager was standing behind the register with his hands on his hips, no acknowledgement of the busy waiting area. Once we finally got seated it took forever for our server to bring our waters. We both ordered the savor size chicken, apple, spinach salad, this also took forever to get. Once we were finished eating the server had disappeared and never came back with our bill. Finally we went up to the register and the server came up to give our bill. Overall we waited 45 min to get seated & then it took ½ hour to get our salads.

I like almost all the food at Bob Evans, but when it comes to ordering food to go it has been messed up at least 4 times out of 5. If they tell you it will be ready in 10 minutes plan on it being a half an hour, always check your order before you leave the store.

This isn’t my ususal scene but I went with my family for brunch. It’s Bob Evans… that sums it up. Good service and I can’t get over that their hamburgers are a half a pound… This is why American’s are fat.

Bob Evans is one of my Dad’s favorite restaurants(give a country boy sausage gravy and biscuits and he’s happy) so I’ve been to more than my share of them throughout the US. My friend, CK, and I came here after going for a jog at 3 Creeks Metro Park the other week and I didn’t expect it to be much different from the others. And it wasn’t. Except they had flat screen TVs showing the World Cup. That alone bumps them up to 4 stars in my book =) But really, they were so accommodating with our request that we have a table where both of us could see the TV that they seated us a table that was too big for 2 people just so we could be annoying watching World Cup action! They also have free wifi, so I’ll definitely be coming back when there’s matches on in the middle of the day and I don’t feel like going to a bar or pub!
