Cute restaurant! We stopped here on our drive from Columbus to Hocking Hills. They have a sign that said«Firearms welcome» posted on a fridge which was sort of interesting. I had the grilled chicken sandwich which was delicious! Boyfriend had the hill billy eggs which he also enjoyed. We waited for a while before we were helped and our waiter seemed to sort of disappear while we were eating(I never had a chance to ask for a straw) but otherwise great visit! Took some chocolate cookies to go — also yum.

I know this is sorta old news by now, but it’s worth saying: I am SOHAPPY this place was able to recover and reopen after their fire! I have not once had a bad experience here! The atmosphere, the staff, the food: 5STARS without reservation or hesitation! I’m in love with Wigwam!!! Keep it up, guys and gals!

Our all time favorite place for breakfast. Wonderful people, delicious food sometimes long waits due to them being so busy. Never a bad meal. Always consistent. I worried after the fire they had that the food would not taste the same once reopening. Spot on no change at all after being closed for so long only tasted better cause it was missed. Thankfully we live close enough to enjoy this mom and pop style on fashioned diner. These are few and far between. We have been to several of the like and none compares to the food we get here!

This was our first visit to the Wigwam… and it will be the last. It was packed so we assumed it was going to be great. We waited extremely long for our meals and when they were served both meals were incorrect. «Fresh cut fries» were frozen, nothing close to fresh. My philly sandwich came with onions which I asked them to leave off… they graciously made me another, sending the next sandwich out with just burnt meat on a bun, no cheese. How do you forget the cheese in my «philly cheese sandwich?» Needless to say, it was disgusting, I could not eat it. My husband ordered a bacon cheese burger that arrived without the bacon. Maybe the cooks should attend to the meal tickets a little more closely. We could have had better food at McDonalds. Everything appears to be frozen, prepared foods. Do yourself a favor and spend your money at one of the other great spots in town… Wine Bistro, Shades, or Harvest Moon.

I like the diner style of this joint. It’s located smack in the downtown part of Canal. Mom and pop stores line the main road. Fast, efficient, friendly service. The waitresses know the regulars by name. Regular American fair. Booth, table, and counter seating. Good place for a group meetup; a solo meal works just as well. The food was decent. I had their BLTE sandwich. I’m sure you can guess the E. White bread. I don’t like crunchy, so had the hold the«toasted». It was quite good. The bread was very fresh. Stuck to the roof of my mouth when I took a bite. The bacon was straight from the griddle. Great taste and juicy. Egg was still warm — I like it hard, aka, break the yoke.

I used to come here after church on Sundays when I was an organist at a local church. The staff was always friendly then. However, I have been back twice since I moved and the staff was awful. The restaurant was not busy the times I went but it took forever to get any service. I do not plan to return again. From now on I am sticking to the diners where the service has been consistently good – Frank’s on broad street and Grill and Skillet on main street. The atmosphere is equal, if not more important to the quality of the food.

Just moved to canal… first visit to wigwam this morning with my son. Food was average but very reasonably priced. Love the old town diner atmosphere. Service was good despite being relatively busy. Will visit again.

We wound up at the Wigwam by chance. We are from Colorado on vacation in Ohio. It took forever to get our drinks ordered, then it twice as long to get them. A small glass of apple juice for a 5 year old was 2.09! The food was not bad, but it certainly was not excellent. If you are a local you will give this place a 5 star rating all day, if you are not a local be ready to watch the locals come in after you and get served before you. Also get ready to watch the waitresses talk to the locals while you wait 15 minutes for a drink. Then, finally, get ready for a different waitress to come take your food order because the original waitress has all but forgotten you exist. The town is super cool; I just wish we picked a different place to eat.

If it came to an option to the overly grease and tasteless waffle house, I pick Wigwam all the time. First off the staff is awesome, very friendly and kinda, always makes you feel like family. Though the service is a little slow, everything is cooked to order so it is worth the little extra wait. This is a great little diner that you can sit down and have a conversation with the people who are with you and never have to yell over loud music or people. Prices are very cheap so it doesn’t hurt the wallet. where it does hurt though is the grease. Much like diners of its type, it uses a large flat top to prepare most of it’s dishes and the amount of oil, butter and grease which comes with this preparation is hard to avoid. I try to stick with the more lighter items such as the Breakfast Quesadilla I had this morning. Though definitely needed A LOT more seasoning, the eggs were cooked well, crispy bacon bits inside along with fresh veggies and topped with a very mild salsa. It was filling but definitely lack of flavor and seasoning. But if your looking for a cheap, better tasting Waffle House that is cleaner and friendlier than it’s competitors, swing by and enjoy some home cooking.

Top notch local spoon. All three of my boys have been raised at the Wigwam. The food is always great no matter if your there for breakfast or lunch. The management and staff are even better. Two thumbs up from this regular…

Went here based on awesome word of mouth, and wasn’t disappointed. My partner was craving Eggs Benedict and they came out perfectly, which isn’t something I expect from most diners. I had the Hillbilly Eggs, which was a hash of home fries(exceptional on their own), scrambled eggs, and onions. It was fantastic, and the serving size was more than I could possibly eat. Finally, whatever they do to the coffee, they need to keep doing. I grew up on diner coffee, and this was a perfect cup. It’s 25 minutes out of our way to get to the Wigwam, but we’ll be back.

It’s what you want. Does greasy spoon have negative connotations? It shouldn’t. I would only recommend breakfast, but breakfast I highly recommend.
