The best ! Love the little area out back for sitting by the water. If its raining or a bit windy you can sit inside. Prices reasonable.

When we are in Canandaigua and we want ice cream we almost always choose Abbott’s. Try chocolate almond on a waffle waffle cone or hot fudge Sunday. Ambrosia!

Hand scooped custard? Check! Kiddie cone big enough to stuff a fat guy? Check! Real, thick, creamy, eggy, umami laden custard? Check! I’ve been in upstate NY for two weeks with the family, in «custard country,» and have been waiting for vanilla custard nirvana. This place delivered. It is my new benchmark for real custard.

Super duper smooth flavors. This is one of my favorite custard shops mainly because the selection of custard choices. From lite chocolate, mint chocolate, vanilla, red velvet and my favorite chocolate almond. Chunks of almonds in that smooth rich custard.

My wife and I stopped in after Abbott’s was recommended by a waitress where we ate dinner. We both think our sundaes were the best we’ve tasted in a long time. Pretty good variety. Would definitely recommend Abbott’s. Prices are nominal.

The custard is good, the sherbert is good, the staff works out well too. But to be honest, there was nothing too special about it. I could not tell the difference from the frozen custard and a good ice cream. When it comes to dessert however, maybe that is all you need, something familiar and good. Nothing too special about it, or something that will blow your mind with creativity and flavor. It is what it is, and it gets the job done.
