Stopped in yesterday after work on a whim to try something different. I was in the mood for fish so I ordered the broiled haddock. I had the lemon pepper seasoned kind and it was a decent sized piece and cooked to perfection. The rice it came with seemed a little overly spiced but that could be just me because I am pregnant and everything seems that way lately. So oh darn I guess I will have to go back and try again. Looking forward to it. They have a salad bar that comes with entrees, I wish they had more choices for topping but I enjoyed it. I didn’t have the soup as I didn’t want to fill up but I heard another customer raving about hers(I didn’t catch which type she had) saying it was the best soup she has ever had! It looks like they may have love music somewhere in there. I saw someone coming in with instruments so I am interested in going back and checking that out. This definitely looks like a good comfort food place.

Visited for breakfast, very busy place with a very hometown feel. The food was good quality with a huge range of options. Also has changing specials which is very important in finding a good breakfast spot

Best bartender I’ve come across in NY! Bobbi is amazing! On my first visit she immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. She Suggested the food & made us some awesome cocktails! She is a true bartender that takes pride in her job and excels in her craft! I will definitely be back whenever I am in town! It’s not often that you get that kind of exceptional customer service anymore!

Our group of 15+ comes here once a year after 4 days of serious drinking and grossness… they treat us like royalty every year. The staff is as good as it gets. So many waters and coffees! Pitchers and Pitchers of it all around! Maybe we just look like we need it but really, fantastic. Breakfast is the way to go. They are really accommodating and the food is great. Lunch is a little less spectacular but still good. The fried stuff is average, the pastas are pretty good. Didn’t like the seafood pasta dish but with 14 other plates to steal from, I got my fill. Breakfast. Definitely get breakfast here. The ambiance is really standard, nothing fancy but I only barely remember that given the incredible service and outstanding breakfast. See you next year.

This place is not fancy or super healthy but it is a decent restaurant and I am obsessed with their spicy fried raviolis! They are accommodating for large groups. I have never had a bad experience with any of the servers. It hasn’t been busy anytime I have been here. I had a party here and no one had any complaints.

The villager is located in the general vicinity of the downtown area. Inside is surprisingly very roomy with multiple seating areas. They also offer a salad bar with soup(however I noticed the soup was super thick and over heated) this must of been leftovers! I passed! The food meh! Nothing special at all. $ 10 fingers for an order of 4 was nothing to brag about! I guess the price would be okay since it included the salad bar(if it was good) The blue cheese offered for the fingers must of been a name brand that I can’t stand! It didn’t taste good at all and the hot sauce(or so I thought) tasted like some blend of orange sauce mixed with general tso’s sauce for Chinese food!!! I didn’t dig this at all! Yuccccckkkkkk! I won’t be coming back if I’m in the area! I wouldn’t of ended up here in the first place, however they had a wine and craft festival down by the lake so we stopped here since it was in the general area. Darn festival ruined what could of been a killer dinner on the lake.

Came here on 4th of July for a quick lunch. Service was very scatterbrained and many people had multiple servers coming to the tables not knowing the order had already been placed. I ordered a sliced turkey sandwich and a side salad. The sandwich was good and tasted fresh. The salad cost almost as much as my sandwich, and I watched the server go to the salad bar with a tiny bowl and make it. It came to the table covered in fake bacon bits – inedible. My boyfriend ordered a grilled cheese sandwich – the bread was toasted but the cheese(Kraft singles) was not melted and appeared to be old. All in all, the highlight of this place was the ranch dressing. That being said, for being as busy as they were, the service was fast. Also, the prices are inexpensive. However, would not come back based on today’s experience.

Wasn’t about to do a review, but when you see that management reads it, they deserve positive feedback. We just stooped for breakfast after a stay at Inn on the Lake which inexplicably stops serving a 9:30am weekdays, so those who want to sleep in need to go elsewhere. The diner is conveniently located with easy off street parking. The breakfast menu is typical diner and extensive, but what I really liked was that the food came out on really nice big plates looking as good as in the picture. Shows extra care in the kitchen. Service in a not-to-busy restaurant was friendly but a bit slow. Seems the waitresses cover multiple rooms so they are not easily waved down! This could be just that they were trying to prep for lunch or waiting on other customers. We would stop back.

Very friendly staff, great food and prices! Serves breakfast all day which is even better! Entrees and entrée specials come with the salad bar which is very good as well! Definitely recommend this place, they even have a breakfast buffet on Sundays!

They have pretty decent breakfast here compared to other places in Canandaigua. I haven’t found one restaurant in this whole town that’s really all that great for breakfast. The negatives: the floor in the bar area was still sticky from the night before, their flatware is old and old cheap flatware always looks dirty and there is no infant changer in the bathroom(come on! You want me to change my baby’s dirty diaper on your booth?). The positives: the French toast is really good and they have some good specials. The staff is really nice, but they could work on their hostessing a bit as we just stood there for a good 3 minutes being ignored by at least three servers. They serve coke! A big plus in my book!

Your typical«family restaurant» nestled in a comfy location in the heart of downtown Canandaigua. I stopped in for a quick breakfast and was quite pleased with the friendly service. Some dishes are what I would call unique, if not a tad bizarre(e.g. burgers stuffed with relish). Ordered the french toast, for example, and was told that the amount of slices was off because the bread that they used was now thicker. A helpful tip… I learned later that a previous customer had complained. 9-25-2012 update. Taking my rating down a star for the restaurant for this reason. 1) at dinner last night a member of my party was served a piece of haddock that was well past it’s prime. 2) When I brought this to the attention of the server, no offer was made to re-do or substitute, nor was the bad piece of fish taken off the bill. Instead, she was not billed for her coffee! Moral of the story? Caveat Emptor. There are better places nearby, like Eric’s Office!
