I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and now I currently volunteer when I’m on school breaks. I absolutely love the library. It’s become almost a second home to me. The staff are incredibly nice and are helpful if you need help with something or would like to request a book. Sometimes I like to hang out at one of the back tables simply to read. The library is generally quiet with the exception of a talkative child here and there. It’s also a very safe and stress-free place to hang out. On the 4th of July, Friends of the Library holds an awesome sale of used books. Prices vary each year, but generally no book goes over $ 2. December also has a similar sort of sale. The library is going to be moved to a bigger location in the future and ground-breaking for the building will be in fall of 2013.

Why does Unilocal keep filtering out my reviews for the Canby library? I love this place, and it pisses me off that Unilocal won’t let me say that here.

Help them out here PEOPLE!!! A city’s library can’t be supported off their own good will. It actually takes people participating. If you want to keep your library, I’d reccomend you get off your butt(and off your computer) and go check out a book. And even if you really can’t tear yourself away from the computer screen… dont worry. There is an alternative. They are all online, and up to date with technology, so you can browse videoes, dvd, books and anything else offered there, and place them on hold so you can pick them up at your convienience. There are still many excellent childrens programs offered here so if you’re a tired mom(or dad) and want a break, bring your kids here for some metal adventures!!! Another super cool thing they offer is their cultural passes. They vary over time, but have included places like the Portland Childrens Museum, The Rhododendren Gardens, Pittock Mansion, The Chinese Gardens… and others. You can also pack a picnic and take your kids to Wait Park right across the street to get their energy out after their mental exercieses at the Library. Check it Out!!!
