We use to go here often and then stopped for awhile. Well tonight we decided we would call in an order for dinner. Not one thing was correct in our order. At first we thought it was just my daughter’s taco so we just gave it to her because it was only missing cheese. Then my husband sits Down and his is missing sauce then I open mine and they aren’t the kind of meat so I call to tell them. I was told to bring the food back. Well the whole point of ordering to go is to not have to go back. She told me the only way she could do anything for me is if I could bring the food back. Well you just lost my business you should of made this right. You don’t ask a customer to bring back an order after they have left. Bad bad customer service. Absolutely ridiculous.

Delicious Mexican food! The only place I’ll eat Mexican food in Oregon coming from Southern California background!

Great food! I recommend the tacos!!! They are pretty slow and often very busy with no place to sit. Also it never seems very clean, and I don’t want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. Phoning in your order usually helps, but I’ve done that before and shown up only find out the order hadn’t been started. Over all though, you get a lot of food for your money. The Breakfast burritos are good too! Cheap and huge!

Love this place. Great authentic food and the service is always really good. The only complaint I have, is if you do not get there right at lunchtime, the salsa bar will be empty. It is best to get food to go considering there are only 3 tables. Awesome food and portions.

Drove by this place for so long… Finally got a chance to experience it. Everything was great, although the bean was a little bland(I had to add a little bit of sea-salt).

We love El Chilito! Moved to town about a year ago and have ordered food to go from there many times. Delicious, fast, and a lot for your money. Pleases everyone in our family of 5, which is hard to do!

It pains me to give El Chilito only three stars but unfortunately, that’s all it deserves. 1) It’s SOOOOO slow! OMG, how long does it take to make an enchilada?! I’ve waited 20 – 30 minutes when ordering a burrito, or taco, or enchilada… It’s ridiculous. 2) Often when you call ahead to get a jump on the wait, no one will answer the phone. 3) The food can be quite inconsistent from one day to the next. 4) It’s closed on Mondays. On the plus side: 1) It’s a heckuva good value. 2) WHENTHEFOODISGOOD, it’s excellent! I used to eat there quite regularly but stopped because it’s too much of a hassle.

I love this place! Only place I fully enjoy my enchiladas since they don’t taste like they were once frozen. The tacos are to die for. I have no complaints about this place… hmm, I might even go tonight and get my dinner here

I am from San Diego and am SO happy I have found some authentic Mexican food. This was my second time here, and it proved the first visit was not a fluke. Ordered the Carne Asada plate. Healthy portion with beans, corn tortillas, lettuce, tomato, rice and a scoop of guacamole. Definitely enough for 2 people. Food is flavorful and beef was seasoned perfect. Both times there has been a bit of a wait for my food, which only tells me everything is made fresh. And worth the wait!!!

Did somebody say taco! This tiny little Mexican spot serves up some real deal tacos with hand made tortillas. The hard shell tacos are where it’s at for me. We come here every year for the past 4 years when we are in the area to visit the Swan Island Dahlia Festival. Each year, the food here is incredible and the folks working are just as nice as can be. It doesn’t matter what time of day you show up, they’re going to be busy because the food is so great. But don’t worry, they’re also super speedy. If you have a hankering for some freakishly delicious Mexican food, you won’t regret popping by El Chilito. 2015 — Review # 57

Wow! So inspecting from the looks outside. I had the burrito majado if I spelled that right with rice and salad. It was a little on the spicy side but not too bad. The only downside I’ve food to this place so far is the wait. If you don’t want fresh food and can’t wait 10 – 20 mins depending on your order call in advance for pick up. I’ll know for next time to call. I went on a Tuesday night around 8pm it was busy.

Made a random stop based on a third-party recommendation and SO glad I did! This is the proverbial hole-in-the-wall, and I mean that with the utmost respect. I had the super burrito with roast beef per the counter-persons recommendation. No regrets. It was huge, delicious, and cost-effective @ 9.75 U.S. There are two small tables so is essentially a take-out place. We got lucky and sat at one of the two tables. The person at the counter spoke fluent english, was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly, and gracious. My wife had quesadillas which were thick and plentiful. She had to take one home. I highly recommend El Chilito’s and would not tule out a 50 mile round trip to eat there again. Excellent service, pricing, and food. Now go!

Very good Mexican food in generous portions and affordable prices. Sort of a cross between a fast food atmosphere and prices, and normal sit down Mexican restaurant food. The place is always PACKED so be prepared to wait. The photo is the Super Burrito that seriously could feed 3 or 4 people!

This is a great take out place, but today we ate our lunch here at the counter. I like it better as a take out place or if I sit outside at one of the two tables. Inside felt claustrophobic to me, between the loud music and customers lining up behind us. I won’t do that again. Think of the place as an elaborate food cart, if that helps you get beyond that lack of ambience. The food is good, but the refries are especially good. The fish tacos are close to being good but are too breaded and don’t taste like fresh fish. I assume the fillets are frozen. For $ 2, it’s not a bad fish taco. The rice is also noteworthy. My son loved the burrito mojado and the flavorful, heatless sauce. I enjoyed the complimentary pickled carrots with a bit of heat. The service is efficient and friendly. The one person at the counter does a lot of multi-tasking well, even switching between Spanish and English for customers. Today the counter person was especially kind to two young boys who had walked here from nearby apartments for food to go. She helped them understand their change and showed them how to carry the food so it remained in tact. She was busy but confident and friendly. Personally, I love when warm weather inspires people to stop here and the line wraps around the building. The food is good enough to warrant waiting in line.

You have to try the fish tacos! This is a tiny place but worth the crowd. The food is fresh, huge and delicious. You can eat outside on nice days or get a table inside but the lobby is very small. I have had the fish tacos, the chimichanga, various burritos and tacos. Always good and I havent been disappointed yet.
