When not flooded and when open, nice spot for taking your dog for a dip or just to walk around. There is a parking lot and a few trails beyond that, however not for a «hike». We dont run into too many people here. A few fishing, some making their way down the river to kayak or swim, when its warm. The current can be a little strong. Not ideal for small children unless supervised of course. Its just a nice spot to hang out if you are the outdoors type and just want new spot to check out. The gates do lock at a certain time and if this isnt your spot, Molalla Park is not too far from here either.

This is a nice, local spot for us. There’s easy access to the river from the parking lot. The bank of the river is composed of small and larger stones and the ground tends to be uneven. Not ideal, if you’re in a wheel chair. I suggest an air mattress or chairs, for comfort. The river is swifter, here, earlier in the season but folks raft and there is a spot to jump off of a 10 — 12 foot high cliff. It’s fun to hunt for crayfish here and skip stones, as well as swim. The water is a bit chilly but the kids love it! I do encourage people using this site to clean up after yourself! I hate going there and policing trash others have left. That said, I give it an 8 on a 10 point scale, for cleanliness. There is a port-o-pot there, as well as a trash receptacle, in the parking lot.

Rustic river acess for kayaking, fishing and summer time swimming. This park had been here for many a year providing access to the Molalla river. I have seen families basking in the sun or cooling off in the water durring the hot months and I have seen fishermen wadding in trying to catch the prized salmon durring the cold early spring. For Kayakers, there is an old ramp going down the the water. It is not a smooth transition to the water as the bottom of the ramp is missing and also the top is blocked so you will have to carry your craft down to the water. Once in the water it is a cool and beautiful journey down to the Willamette. The pull out on my last trip was the Molalla state park. Summer time is good for that as you may have to portage some areas when the water is low. I haven’t floated this part in the spring yet. Maybe this year.
