The food was great. I bought a pound of gyro meat, the garlic yogurt cuke sauce, couple packs of pita bread. Tabbouleh, some pasta salad thing, large package of meat grape leaves. Red pepper hummus, and lentil salad. All the large size. I really liked it after I got it home heated it up, threw on some lettuce tomato and thin slices of onion. Heated the pita over a perfectly oiled pan. And proceeded to eat. The wife agrees. Really really great. A place like this deserves a five. It was outstanding in every way. I only wish they cooked whole lamb on a spit. I would be there at least twice a week if they had roasted lamb. But, you take what you can get in youngstown. And in this case, I took quite a bit. I have enough food to feed a hungry family and a bit more, for less than 50 bucks. Keep in mind, you could drop the price to less than 20 by buying two packages of pita bread and s pound of the lamb gyro meat mixture. And then making the yogurt garlic cucumber myself. And I always have a pretty good stock of lettuce onion and tomatoes.(ALWAYSSHOPFORPRODUCEATRULLIBROTHERS!!!) I highly recommend this place. And just to answer the previous person commenting about the figs. Google«fig wasps». Figs depend on teeny tiny wasps for pollination. So, I have no problem with that. Cute teeny tiny little wasps. Hope that makes you feel better. Since Americans prefer to only eat food that is cute. Think of the cute little wasp. And, avoid figs 100% if the thought of fig wasps may be an issue for you. Seriously, don’t even think of fig newtons.

The service here is impeccable and most of the food is great, however, my mother went shopping here to bring food home for dinner and she bought dates and found three maggots in it!!! EEEEK! Fortunately she did not digest any but we did not expect that from this establishment. We hope that no one encounters this in the future and that the workers at Silvas are more diligent about checking their food before serving it to the public.

Wow. I just went here for the first time based upon reviews I read here. I ordered a gyro only. I’m used to $ 5 gyros elsewhere, so a $ 6.99 gyro sounded high-end to me… it did NOT disappoint. 1 full pound. It was a MONSTER. It was LOADED with meat. Delicious. I couldn’t FINISH! Highly recommended.

Divert off the toll road! Must stop. The gyro was the best ever! Ever! Humus was like I have never had before and I make my own. So flavorful! Kibble with beef was perfection. Recommend you split everything so you can try everything. Znoud el sit(lady’s arm) is pudding filled FILO that you will swear is cheese. This plAce just delights the palate.

Yes, indeed, Sylvas is awesome. We came to Youngstown from Philly, and this place beats almost any Middle Eastern take-out we knew about there. It’s extremely reasonable, and the food and service are first rate. We love this place.

The BEST in the area by far. Homemade, fresh and tasty. Kibbee is awesome, salads fresh, gyros piled high of meat and veggies, fattayas are great and baked fresh everyday. They are the nicest people in the world. Hummos is the best ever as well as the other specialties. Oh by the way… it’s owned by the Ghossains so that’s why the hummos is so good.

Nice selection of deli items that are always fresh and a small«dry» grocery area. The first time I went in they were cooking vegetarian kibbie(but I believe you’d need to call ahead), and it was delicious. I get a baba or hummos pita nearly every time I stop in, plus a selection of spreads. Also, the nicest woman in the world works the counter.

A good friend, of Lebanese descent, told the wife about this place. This is the real deal. It’s primarily a deli, with bulk food under glass in a couple of long deli cases. There are a couple of tables where I suspect you could eat off paper plates using plastic utensils. The selection involved, grape leaves, hummus, tabouli, foole m’damas, kibbie, salads of different varieties…, you name it, they have it. I started barking out what I wanted, gimme some of that, a couple of those, two servings of that. Before I knew it, I was at $ 45. I took home enough food for two dinners(for two) and one lunch(for me). Nothing went to waste. The kibbie was outstanding. The tabouli, likewise. I loved the veggie grape leaves, the wife thought the meat-filled were better. All the better. The falafel was fried just right, and had loads of flavor. I’ll be back, soon. I suggest everyone that is reading this within 50 miles of this place, get over here. The location is notorious for the«6-month business». Anything that starts up here is usually gone in 6 months. Let’s reverse that.
