We love this winery because all of the wines white to red all are outstanding. The service has always been good and the prices have always been good as well. This is a great local winery that serves outstanding wines. If you are in the area of Cannon Falls I recommend stopping in to Cannon Falls winery to check out their wines and their selection of gifts and other items. This is truly an experience that you will enjoy. On the weekends they have a lot of live entertainment as well as other activities in the winery. There’s a great place across the street to grab some lunch if you are hungry. Place also has an event center above the winery that you can rent and have a nice get together. Please stop by and check out the Cannon Falls winery also signt up for their email promotions. This is an outstanding Minnesota winery

The Cannon River Winery is by far the most easily accessible for those of use that live in the Southeast Metro and is worth a visit for a litany of reasons. First, the tasting room is a quick trip down 52 and only about a mile off the highway. Plenty of parking in the big surface lot for all the other businesses in the area as well as next to the building itself that if I believe correctly used to be a garage in the past. It is also situated almost perfectly at the beginning of the Cannon River Trail and makes for a great way to reward yourself after a day of pedaling. Second, the wines themselves. There is a focus on sweeter wines, but these aren’t of the cloying variety that people tend to associate with sweet. There are plenty of drier options if that is more to your liking. The«star» of the offering is the Go Go Red. After years of going to the tasting room and running into it at winetastings in the area I’ve heard it billed repeatedly as the red wine for those that say they don’t like red wine. That is very accurate. My mother does not like red wine(and will tell you that loudly) but she loved this when we took her there. The Gunflint Red is also a nice place to jump off into the world of reds if you don’t have much experience. Not as sweet as the Go Go Red, but also not the mess of tannins that people come to dislike about red. If whites are your thing then by all means give the St. Pepin a try. It has notes very similar to Sauvignon Blanc(my favorite type of white wine). The Lorraine’s White is good is you prefer Reislings. There is something on their offerings that you will like. I’ve had them all and the only thing I didn’t much care for was the Apple Wine, but thats more of a personal taste preference. Its still the most drinkable grouping of wines I’ve encountered in Minnesota. Its a nice space, small but roomy(if that makes sense). Good live music and nice staff. I wish they would add a pizza oven or some small plates or even open themselves up to the occasional food truck. It would be a great fit in my mind. Even so its a great way to spend a hour or so if you are in the area and also worth it if you are checking off your list of Minnesota wineries one at a time. I like it a lot.

Wines were okay but what stuck out was how pretentious the owner was. We walked in to pick up a couple of bottles to send to my out of town family members as Christmas gifts. Our Grandparents had lived in Cannon Falls. She was working on her computer and was visibly upset that we should come in for a purchase and she had to wait on us. We tried to explain the connection but she not only wouldn’t say anything except how much we owed then she walked away without so much as a thank you for buying her product. Never again!!!

Great winery. I love the tasting room. It has lots of different corners and places to be. They had live music today and he was pretty good. Make sure you get a bottle of mill street red. It’s become my favorite stand by wine! Staff is very warm And welcoming and seem to know their wine well.

This is the 4th time I’ve been here. I paid for the privilege of picking grapes in fall of 2014 and 2015. Besides free labor you get a lunch and 20% discount on wines plus wine tasting and tank testing in spring. Now the wines. I like their 7th Street white made for Mancini’s in St Paul. I also like the Nuevo which they aren’t producing this year. The Go Go Red is sweet but good also Sogn Blush and Sparking Edelweiss is very good. The winery in downtown Cannon Falls has good music and wine tasting. There is cheese and crackers to purchase if you desire. This place should offer small plates or tapas. Flatbread pizzas I think would go over well. 4⁄5 for two bathrooms. Grape picking this year a was poor due to powdery mildew caused by the weather. The vineyard and winery would be great for a wedding and bachelorette gathering. I will probably be back in Spring to taste our final product.

My wife and I stopped by last night as part of her birthday present. Great tasting. Excellent ambiance. Very friendly staff. For two very busy working parents with a couple finite hours to decompress and reconnect, the Cannon River Winery was just what the doctor ordered. I enjoyed the gunflint wine. We will come back.

We love Cannon River Winery! 12tastings for $ 12, great price! They do have other tasting options, but our group went for their biggest. The staff is super nice and friendly, they even showed us their event space, we had a great time! I would defiantly take a group of friends with me to go back again. An I will be online ordering wine when my four bottles I bought run out. We didn’t care for the super sweet wines, but what a selection! :) I finally found a Rose I love! Their Italian style rose, I think it’s called Rosella. Yum! Also, bought their Ice Wine, Sparkling Wine and Cannon River Red. Can’t wait to get these home to San Diego, an share them with my husband.

If you don’t like sweet wines don’t come here. I had a sampling of their driest white, red, and blushing wine and they were all much too sweet for me. If you do like sweet wines do come. It’s a very pretty establishment in a very cute town and has a great ambiance. They have a few Minnesota grown varietals(Frontenac, Marquette, Yes!) and a bunch of juice shipped in from California(not a fan).

We stopped here after our snowshoeing hike. There were several pairings of red and white wine but I only liked one. Plus, we were given oyster crackers as snack. The last one we had dark chocolate which was nice. Overall, this has potential but I was not a big fan of the wine selection.

Very nice wine selection and nice place to relax! They have a nice location right downtown Cannon Falls and they offer a variety of tastings. They can accommodate groups and on some nights they have music as well. We will definitely be back!

The Cannon River Winery is fantastic! I’ve been there a few times with my family and each time I discover a new wine that I love. They have a beautiful location off of the main street of town, which really gives a great small town feeling. They also have a beautiful mural on the side of the building, which makes the downtown location much more attractive. I went on a Saturday with a group of girlfriends – we were taking a wine tour in the Southern part of MN. Cannon River Winery accepts the MN Wine Passport(available through the MN Grape Growers Association). As we sat down to have our free tasting and listen to the live music, a waitress was at our table immediately, very accommodating to a larger group. Some of my favorite wines are the Sogna Blush, Go Go Red, and Gun flint Red. I would encourage you to do a tasting so you have the opportunity to try multiple types of wine – some of them are award winning and delicious! While listening to the live music(which was great), we had some cheese/crackers which is available with other food products for purchase. By the time we were ready to go, they were quick to wrap us up(they were sensitive to our time line) and checked out our purchases quickly. All in all, this is an excellent example of what a fun home town winery should be! I really enjoy going there on a Saturday afternoon or evening – either way, it’s very lively. I would recommend for a girls night out or a date on the town!

Always a great time! Friendly hospitality, reasonably priced flights and a laid back atmosphere. They often are churning the grapes right behind the seating area.

This was the perfect stop for a nice fall afternoon in Cannon Falls. There is a great Bike trail(peddle not Harley although this is a great area for that as well) that begins and ends in Cannon Falls and after a little exploring we stumble in the doors of this place. What a find, great welcoming group of very knowledgeable people when it comes to the wines they make and this wonderful liquid in general. They have different set-ups for tastings of all the wines that they make there and all very reasonable in price. They have plenty of room, tours and great hospitality… add to that the German guy playing drinking songs and its a good time. They have a wide range of wines for many tastes. For my taste they only had a couple of reds that I really loved but they did have a couple and it was such a great time with such great service I will stop in again. Great thing to do while venturing out from the city for a nice fall afternoon! KT

This place is a gem. If you go on a weekend during the day it’ll likely be hoppin’ and you might even be able to listen to some live music. The décor is beautiful, and it’s easy to feel any worries you had before you arrived just float away as you sip wine in good company. It is a great atmosphere. The wines are delicious, the staff is fabulous and the place is beautiful. Cannon River doesn’t sell a lot of food, but they do have some yummy cheese and crackers for purchase. If you get an opportunity to go out to the vineyard on a nice day — do it. It is incredible. Set upon a hill, you have an amazing view. It’s beautiful. If you live in the cities, this is a really easy drive, so I encourage you to take a day trip out to Cannon Falls!

As far as Minnesota wineries goes, this was good. However, it is a «winery store,» not a winery. The best thing they has was an ice wine – quite sweet, but an intense flavor. $ 40 for 375 ml! We got a bottle to share some time, but I could buy a decent vintage port at that price per volume. The other wines I might buy at $ 8 to $ 10, but not the $ 15 to $ 25 they were selling for. I appreciate they’re from Minnesota, but that doesn’t really make them worth twice the money.

I’ve struggled over the years to find any Minnesota wines that I like. On my first visit to Cannon River Winery, I struck gold. Here’s what I discovered, through some sampling, I like their sweeter wines. The staff was friendly and willing to pour us samples to try. If you know someone who enjoys their wine on the sweeter side, I recommend the GoGo Red, the Apple Wine or a Sogn Blanc.

I am a bot of a wine snob. I don’t always get excited about MN wines. My friend recommended that we stop at Cannon River on our way to LaCrosse and I know he is pretty picky too, so we took his advice. So happy we did! We did two flights of three each. Every one of the wines was one that I would happily drink more of. We narrowed our purchases down to two, but it was not an easy decision! If you like a NZ Sauv Blanc, get the St Pepin. It is fantastic. Great recommendation from the very savvy staff. The tasting room is lovely. Lots of dark wood, but still nice and open. You can walk around to get a closer look at the barrels and vats and they had some of their grapes out to taste/buy since they were about to crush. They had the tables set up for a special event, but there was plenty of room at the bar and the tables in the tasting area. This would be a fun place to bring a group. We didn’t have time to go out to the vineyards, but I have a feeling we will be back to do that and maybe catch a live music night.

What a great place! We visited the winery with Living Social Coupon for two free wine flights(three samples each) that was integrated with our stay @ the Quill & Quilt Bed & Breakfast. We walked in to the beautiful space, and loved it immediately. Large open space, dark wood, & quaint, intimate tables to sip wine :) We decided to do a full tasting before commiting to our flights. We learned that most of the wines are named after family members of the winery(grandmothers) & that the Cannon River Winery produces wine for the wonderful Mancini’s in DT St. Paul & for the St. Paul Winter Carnival. Who knew? The staff @ the Winery were absolutely amazing. We enjoyed our tasting & our flights of wine to the tune of live acoustic music &, wait for it, FREEFOOD!!! The winery features free food & live music on Fridays, serving up an assortment of meats, cheeses, crackers, Greek & Mexican pastries, Greek chicken skewers, & cilatantro-lime beef skewers. YUM! We enjoyed every minute of our experience @ the Cannon River Winery. We even took a few bottles of deliciousness home! Thank you! We will be back!

Made a trip to the winery for the Three Rivers Wine Trail«Tap the Barrel» event. They had the wine maker on hand sampling red wine from the barrel and answering any of our questions. We did the full tasting and had an excellent staff member serving our wine. The wine tasting area is cute, but make sure to drive out to the vineyard, which is a few miles away. The vineyard is amazing. It’s up on a hill with a great view and you can wander throughout the grape vines. I will definitely be back to the winery in the fall.
