Good part. Friendly, warm staff. Bad part so little healthy options. I know it’s a diner but it’s also close to a well used bike trail where many healthy people like to recreate. Would love to see a couple vegetarian items and more fresh veggies. Had veggie omelet and it only had peppers and onions. How about broccoli, spinach, mushrooms?

I think that the folks who frequent this place are perfectly fine with it. The food wasn’t horrible. It just wasn’t the most flavorful we’d experienced. Admittedly, I call myself the Mayor of Flavortown, so this counts for a lot to me. We may give it another chance we we’re back for another visit to Ferndale Farms.

The idea of a diner in Cannon Falls is nice, but every time I’ve eaten here the food has lacked seasoning. Looks great on the plate and then just tastes blah.

would recommend this to anyone looking for a good hometown grill! Very delicious food for an affordable price. The staff is very kind as well! All around great place to be at! I ordered the Nick’s mess skillet, very yummy!

Had lunch here with family while visiting. Busy place but great service from the waitress. Food was great as well. Love some small town diners!

Have eaten there twice. Summer 2014 and just a few days ago, June 2015. On both occasions there were some house flies which makes me worry what the kitchen might be like. Service was about 40 minutes after we ordered, but it was not overly crowded even though the waitress said she would push our order. Food ok but had to use napkin to cover the drink so the flies wouldn’t visit. Same thing with the pancakes– cover them mostly and eat from one side to the other. Almost no vegetarian selection, hence the pancake order. You might not want to eat there other than Winter.

Return visit update: Not as good on our second visit here with these owners. There were three of us and the service was mediocre at best. The ice tea was undrinkable. One had a burger and it was OK as was the pulled pork sandwich again. However the chicken salad was pretty bad – all of it: the meat, the lettuce and the salad dressing. The overall experience this time was not as good as our previous visit. How disappointing. Average it with the first visit and you get three stars. I am in no hurry to go back. I will try someplace different next time I am in Canon Falls.

Had breakfast here. The food was very good but the portion sizes are way too big. My wife and I could have split one breakfast and been fine. I did not see senior meals offered. The wait time for service was reasonable.

Two friends and myself had lunch here after wine tasting down the street at Cannon River Winery. I had a turkey club with bacon with garlic Fries. The garlic Fries were so good like the state fairs. I couldnt eat the whole turkey club so it came home in a Box. My friends son is named Nick and she may get a Nick’s Diner t shirt for him. The turkey was chunky turkey not lunchmeat so it was a nice surprise. Will probably be back next time I go to Cannon Falls.

I work in town and love to frequent here. If you’re sitting down over the lunch hour, and it’s busy, expect a wait.(Be patient, it’s a small town restaurant, McDonald’s is down the street if you can’t wait) delicious food with great«step-up» sides at a low price. Homemade desserts! Locally owned. Try the Buffalo chicken salad!

Another bite at Canon Falls, this time for Sunday breakfast. Nicks seems to be the place as it is hopping while the rest of downtown yawns, rolls over, and pulls the blankets back up a little farther. Nicks looks like a stylized diner but in a good way. Our server was cheery and the atmosphere was pleasant. I had eggs benedict. It was good. Huge chunk of ham instead of canadian bacon. The eggs were fried though. Prefer the traditional poached. My wife had an egg sandwich with american fries. She gave it a thumbs up. Good service and tasty coffee rounded up our pleasant stay. They had strawberry rhubarb pie, so you know I will be back.

Pricey… really needs to work on ‘home made’. Plenty of variety, bland meatloaf, way too spicey chicken strips(not home made)…concentrate on quality!!! Won’t return

Nice, clean place! I ordered the Reuben and although it was tasty, it has corned beef chopped up and mixed with the kraut, which makes it tough to keep in between the bread. Fries were great and prices were excellent! Will be back!

Giving it 3⁄5 stars because we were there nearly an hour before we got our food… They did comp us one of the three meals, which was fair. Garlic fries had raw, minced garlic gobbed on them, not sautéed, so that wasn’t expected. Nice server and cute atmosphere.
