Horrible customer service, is disappointing when you want something and they dont provide it. The food is average.

One of my go-to sushi spots! Always really fresh and great prices! The bento boxes are an amazing deal and the salmon belly is, well, to die for!

my coworkers and I went in on Tuesday and the young man that greeted us was not happy to be there, very passive. We sat down were not told of any specials, but we could read them, we were served waters and tea with three pieces of ice on a hot day? My friend asked for ice three times before we were finally given a glass of ice. We ordered some sushi rolls to share and it took ½ and hour. there were only 2 other tables there. The sushi immediately effected my friend. he started feeling very strange. He has issues with MSG. We also brought sushi back to the owner of the company we work for. Within 15 minutes of coming back to the office, my other coworker was in the bathroom. I was having issues that evening and my boss relayed to us he was also effected. So with all this said, service was bad, the food was ok but really bad later and we will not be back just not a good restaurant.

My best friend and I came here through a recommendation of a mutual friend– we had ordered over the phone so we could enjoy their offerings at home. Upon placing our order thanks to the convenient and easy to read menu they have available online, we arrived at the restaurant where we were warmly greeted by the friendly staff despite how empty and quiet they were at the time. We picked up 2 miso soups, one specialty roll, 24pc rolls, and six sushi pieces bringing it all to a total of $ 38 with tax included– definitely was worth the price and experience of going home to enjoy it all!

This is my favorite sushi place in the valley! The pricing is the best during happy hour and they have the freshest sushi every time I go — which is at least twice a month. I can’t stop going! Highly recommend if you haven’t tried it.

I went for my cousin’s birthday and while I enjoyed spending time with my family. My experience at the restaurant was not that satisfying. Upon walking in the floors were so sticky and every step I took made an awkward crunching sound. I go to Something’s Fishy very often so when I came to 2 Die For Sushi I quickly made my decision that Something’s Fishy is my favorite sushi joint. I was caught off guard by the way orders are taken because I usually sit at the sushi bar and they fill out the little paper for me. I ordered something cheap, $ 10. It wasn’t that amazing and I am sorry to say but I’ve had better. As well, my sister sat there without a order paper for over thirty minutes and asked for one several times. I wouldn’t go here by choice, only if I got invited again.

This was a difficult review to write. I’ve read the reviews and for the most part they are correct. First you can’t beat the prices, but don’t expect good service or a clean restaurant. We walked in around 8pm on a Sunday night and we were seated right away. The place looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom was disgusting and needs a detailing from top to bottom! The sushi was pretty good and we went with the Crunchy Spicy Tuna, Blue Crab roll, a roll with Tempura asparagus and Yellow tail. They were very good and very reasonable price wise. The were pretty fast getting us our rolls but after that we were abandoned and had to request the check and they never came back to cash us out. I finally had to go up to the front to pay. For the price the food is good, but be warned it’s not the cleanest place in town.

Just had dinner at to die for sushi. A great sushi bar in the heart of the valley. We got seated at the sushi bar quickly and our chef put out great dishes for us. Everything tastes delicious and fresh! If you’re looking for good sushi in the valley, make sure you check out To Die For Sushi…6 stars!

This is a pretty standard sushi place. A Korean operated sushi bar/restaurant, this is a common phenomenon here in L.A. I’ve noticed the rolls are getting smaller and smaller. For takeout, I ordered the unagi shrimp tempura special roll for over $ 12 and it’s actually very small, not a good value, but good sushi is never about getting more quantity for less; you’re eating sushi for the exotic experience and good quality right? so if it’s just ok sushi and you’re not getting good value, then whats the point? Somewhere in the middle is where you find satisfaction. Three stars because the size was small, otherwise, taste is maybe a 4. Eat really good sushi nigiri style is expensive, so it should only be eaten on special occasion, like eating filet mignon, lobster or foie gras.

It’s been far too long since me and the hubs have been here and boy did we miss you To Die For Sushi! We wanted something fresh and delicious for lunch and this place doesn’t disappoint! Of course we each had to start with our own large sake and calamari app(soo yumm)! There are so many delicious choices we ended up ordering the ever so scrumptious BLCR my hubs absolute fav… the raincoat salmon… the spicy creamy rock shrimp with spicy tuna rolls. A nice new item they have on the menu is a grilled onion and chili sauté… not spicy at all… very good with sushi(mix of warm with cool). And of course our waitress was a delight! Another awesome lunch date was had!

Had a relaxing two hour dinner. Which was one hour too long. Unfortunately two of our party had plans, and had to leave. I’m guessing the owners, or at least the staff that we saw were different. We had been weekly regulars, but that seems like a long time ago. We had a simple order, two appetizers, two udon, one sashimi, and one sesame chicken. Food was still pretty good, but the staff, although abundantly mobile, didn’t seem to have an efficient direction in mind. Had to flag down staff several times.

Try my favs: Heart Attack, Baked Philadelphia roll, 911 roll, Dragon roll, Philly roll, Spicy Tuna roll with crunch, with Brown Rice Green Tea. Mmm. I go here just about weekly. It has a nice ambience to it, and chefs prepare the sushi with love. :) It gets incredibly busy during the Happy Hour times, Thursday through Saturday, from 9PM onward. I recommend dining at a table, you’re far less overlooked than at the bar, surprisingly. Great food here. Enjoy!

Generous & unique cuts on the salmon & yellow tail nigiri with bonus sashimi«ends». Total plus! The Laker roll came out with room temp tempura crawfish atop the roll… asked if this was intended… waiter checked, said«yes». Seems odd but I have no prior experience with this roll here. Even at room temp, it still tasted delicious but would have preferred the tempura crawfish be hot. The service pleasant but slow & there was no drink follow-up. Edamame never arrived but was on the bill. Server removed it from bill but not credit card charge. Interior is janky(mats taped down in spots where wood«dance floor» molding was missing) & it feels like the whole place needs a rehab. Go for the nigiri & have patience when it comes to service. I’m giving 3 stars for the food… the rest needs work.

HORRIBLEHORRIBLEHORRIBLE Walked in at 10:25pm, given on Unilocal they close at 11pm. As soon as my friend and I walked in we were told they were«CLOSED!» when asking what time is closing the kid at the desk said«Well, ugh. Usually 11pm, but today 10:30ish» TENTHIRTY-ISH!!! And signaled at the door, without forgetting to remind us we could«Come back another day» DISAPPOINTED in this disgusting but accepted customer service.

The sushi here is pretty good. The only thing that really bothered me during my meal was the build of the sushi itself. My shrimp tempura looked great, but under all the tempura, was thin slices of sushi. I couldn’t even hold it with my chopsticks without every piece falling apart into pieces. This was a problem with all the rolls I had gotten except the BSCR. I Don’t like having my sushi fall apart like that. I do think I’ll come back.

I came here after I offered to take a friend to a restaurant of her choice since it was her birthday. She chose to come here. I was already dreading it since I had seen the Unilocal reviews but it was her choice so I sucked it up. The name of the restaurant really earns its title but not in a good way. I made the mistake of ordering a few cuts of fish since I’m not a big roll person– BIGMISTAKE! This is fish is not fresh! I was gagging each piece down and put most of it in my napkin. I tried ordering a shrimp tempura roll and it smelled so fishy. This place repulses me. How the hell are you people giving this place such high star ratings??? Go to Shibuya, Sushi Yuzu and Go’s Mart and then let’s talk about good sushi.

I’ve been coming here for over 2 years and can tell you that the quality of the food, service, and ambience is(corny plug incoming) TODIEFOR! The select-cut sashimi is the most juiciest when comparing to other sushi places(Kabuki, Sumo, etc.) My personal favorite is their rainbow roll. Another great quality about this restaurant is its homemade feel. The owner Alex and his fellow workers make their guests feel welcome. Next time you’re in the area, give 2 Die For Sushi a shot! :D

I would have never known about this restaursnt if it wasnt for my friend who actually works here. I would always make fun of her just because of this restaurants ridiculous name; 2 Die for Sushi. Um, well I was ‘ready’ to die for sushi but sadly their sushi didnt really kill me(in a good way of course!). This restaurant is pretty big. I wasnt expecting it this big but it had many tables and booths to accommodate customers. When the server took our drink order, I was recommended to try their tropical iced tea. I love teas so much, I think it was a great decision. The tropical tea was very good. That ‘hint’ of tropical scent & flavor was very pleasing. I ordered so much food which was shared with one other friend because I love sushi and I wanted to try everything I can while I am here because I dont know when I can possibly come here again to eat here in the Valley. Assorted tempura, baked mussels, sesame chicken, seaweed salad, lots of sushi and sashimi including salmon, yellowtail, halibut, salmon belly, yellotail belly, and no rice roll. The most impressive out of all that was probably the salmon and yellowtail belly. They were pretty fresh and the cut was thicker than my expectation. No rice roll was OK. I just felt like the sauce was a little too much since the each individual piece of roll was soaked and drenched in sauce. Tempura is never wrong. They were large and super crunchy but not too greasy. I lovw tempura! I also had tempura ice cream at the end which is just ice cream wrapped with pound cake and is fried in tempura batter. Its that flavor/taste you already know. Nothing special since almost every sushi restaurants have these now. Service was good. I feel that its not the worst I have seen but especially the guys who work here, they have no emotions and expressions on their faces. To me, it looked like they were really really tired and/or did not want to work. Though I never had to ask for refills in my tea but they did ask me once if I needed a refill. I feel that they definitely need to do something to provide better service to customers and maybe become more accommodating and outgoing. I think that the quality of fish was fresh for the price and service was also OK but one thing they lack is parking. I thought parking lot shared with the motel located right behind them is seriously weird. This place gets crowded on the weekends and I wouldnt even want to think about not being able to find parking. I wouldnt probably go out of my way to dine here all the way in Canoga Park for sushi but maybe if I come visit my friends in the area, I might come if I do crave for sushi. I probably need to come here again to see if they have improved.

I came on the evening of Valentines day. I was utterly surprised and in shock at how empty this place was upon my arrival. Seeing that made me nervous. At that moment I was beginning to think that It was not gonna be a pleasant experience. My friend and I were sat at one of the tables next to the only group of loud guys in the entire place. It was so annoying!!! Our waiter had no personality and did not ask us how our evening was going or a simple hello. We ordered the lobster roll and a combination dinner. My friend also ordered a side of rice for her son which the waiter forgot. Once we received our meal the waiter never came over to ask us if everything was going well or to serve us more drinks. HORRIBLESERVICE plan and simple. The lobster roll was the only good thing i could come up with for this experience. Will probably not comeback here unless I am dragged by a friend. My fav sushi spot is still Bistro Ka with Mr. Richard and sushi chef Eric!
