5 stars, because why not? This restaurant serves up some authentic Peruvian cuisine, and my tastebuds are thankful. Came here tonight off a recommendation from a Peruvian friend of mine, who boasts of this being one of the best in class, and was not disappointed one bit. Though slightly pricy, I believe it was appropriate for the authenticity, quality, quantity, and taste. I left pretty stuffed. I ordered the Bisteck a la Chorrillana, which was priced at $ 14.95, and my friend ordered the Loma Saltado, which was roughly $ 12.95. Of the two, I would definitely recommend the Bisteck a la Chorrillana, which is basically a juicy, charbroiled steak with sautéed tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. It also comes with a large side of white steamed rice and a potato. I’d highly recommend ordering the steak MEDIUMRARE. The meat came out extremely tender and juicy. The flavor was truly top notch. I found that the underlying flavor actually tasted a lot like soy sauce, which was very interesting. Each table is given a free appetizer of bread with some kind of green dipping sauce(slightly spicy!) and fried corn, which were both delicious. They do serve beer, including imported ones from Peru. My friend ordered the Cristal, while I ordered the Cuzqueña. They also have wine, if that’s what you’re into. Located in a rundown strip mall off winnetka, the outward appearance is unassuming. This restaurant is definitely a hole-in-the-wall kind of a place. The décor is on the older/outdated side of things, but nice and clean enough to enjoy a meal. Parking was easy for us when we went, as the lot is quite big, though I can imagine it may be a little bit of a challenge at times. All in all, I would definitely recommend this place to all. I had a great experience here, and I would come back. Go ahead and give this place a try. The restaurant seems to be family-owned, which is something I love to support. The workers are generally nice, the service is good, and the food comes out quick.

Really good food. Just very tasty. Lots of choices on the menu. Cute décor inside. Overall a great dining experience. My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the service was on the slower side.

The food is ok. But the service is bad. Waited 15 minutes for some one to notice I was there. I asked for extra bread and I never received my bread. If you come here make sure you speak up if you don’t you will get ignored.

I came to revisit with my mama and unfortunately all of the good reviews and extra clientele caused a price hike? Why would you do that if you’re making more money? Food is good as usual but I’ll have to venture out and try some more Peruvian spots I enjoy good food and a deal.

Last time I was at Las Dunas was over 8 years ago. I was able to meet a friend here for lunch and we really enjoyed ourselves. The employees are always sweet and the place is very clean. We ordered the following: Pescado a Lo Macho($ 16): It was OK, there was a very starchy sauce that they put on top which we didn’t like. The fish with all the other seafood tasted great but the sauce really killed it. We probably won’t get this again. Bistek a la Chorrillana($ 13): Loved it!!! The steak was tender and juicy. It came with a potato, sautéed onions, bell peppers and tomatoes. So tasty!!! I totally recommend this dish and order your meat medium rare. I’ll be back again.

Good food good service. Try the Lomo Saltado. The water is amazing. Be careful for the la verde salsa.

The worst Peruvian food we’ve ever had. We ordered Arroz Chaufa Mixto(comes with beef, chicken & shrimp) we asked to hold the shrimp but add more beef, they charged $ 4 extra. Saltado de Mariscos is soggy and saltado de Pollo is overly dry that we choke trying to swallow it. NEVER again we visit this place.

I have been here twice and both times the service was horrible. My 2nd attempted resulted in us leaving after 20 min of being ignored at our table. I give this place 2 stars only because I really did like the food my first time there.

The food is amazing!!! I had Lomo Saltado & after reading the comment the service was good to us. Maybe because it was not busy when we ate on a Friday evening… over all I definitely recommend this place!

Get some peruvian«crystal» beer. Served ice cold and is so smooth loved it. 1st time tried this past weekend, we all enjoyed it very much. The house bread and the corn nuts they serve in the beginning are both delicious. The housemaid jalapeño cilantro salsa served with the bread is incredible but ridiculously spicy! Loved it tongue tortured and all. We had the shrimp chowder, seafood fried rice(our favorite) calamari(very crisp and tasty with onion salsa yum) fried fish filet and tilapia fried too. I know certain beef items are their specialty, but I just had meat two meals in a row so I will definitely be back and try the lomo soltado next time. Service was good, Mr Carlos is a very nice fellow offered us peruvian tequila which was great! Definitely coming back for the steaks!

Peruvian food never fails for me. This place is located inside a plaza on Saticoy/Winnetka, if you live in the Valley. specifically, around this area– check out this place. Place is clean, staff is friendly but service is a hit or miss. I’ve been here when it was busy and I remembered our server took awhile to take our order and serve our food. I’ve recently been here and place was empty and our server took our order right away but the food took a little longer to come out. Regardless, food was good. We ordered Picante de Camarones and Lomo Saltado. both were delicious. Their aji sauce is spicier than other Peruvian restaurants I’ve been too. Portions for me, is good because it’s not so much like Mario’s in Hollywood but if you’re the type that likes big portions then this place is not for you. Other than that, this place is a definite go-to Peruvian restaurant if you don’t want to drive too far.

Not bad in terms of Peruvian food. I’m used to marios in Hollywood, but was up here for lunch. Portions were definitely smaller than I am used to, but the food was good, and everyone was friendly. I may not venture here on purpose, but I had a decent lunch.

First place that I was introduced to Peruvian food to and I loved it! I’ve been here several times when I was living in the valley. Highly recommend checking out their Lomo Saltado(marinated sautéed beef strips with potatoes and onions). Love the fact that it’s located in a huge plaza next to the food for less which makes parking very convenient and also shopping afterwards if you need. One of my favorite local peruvian spots in the area! Food Grade: A Worth The Money: A– Service Grade: A Ambience: A Parking Convenience: A Overall Impression: A

In search of something different, but delicious. Unilocal lead the way to Las Dunas. Parking — ample parking, shares a lot with Food For Less. Honestly, the area is not the greatest. Walking into the restaurant, I was immediately greeted by the owner who was very charismatic and enthusiastic that we were dining there. He was very friendly, answering any questions we had about the menu. You can tell he is very passionate about his Peruvian roots. Complementary bread with their green sauce. I don’t know what it’s called, but it is so good and the heat builds up. Iced tea — the owner said that it is sweetened, so I assumed it was Nestea, or some other soda brand of iced tea. But it wasn’t. It was a freshly brewed tea that had citrus flavors added. It was excellent. Bisteck a lo pobre — comes with french fries, rice, 2 fried plantains, and an over easy egg. I ordered the steak, medium, and it came out perfect! The steak was moist and juicy. Very flavorful. It was a lot of food. Even though I was full, I was still eating. It was that good. I will definitely be coming back.
