Cute little café! Good place to come by for quick coffee and pastries to go or if you want to sit and chill with friends. Good selection of desserts, but could have more pastries option!

I’ve had multiple things from this place and they have all been great. The raspberry pound-cake might be the best pound-cake I’ve ever had.

Ordered a lemon bar, cookie, and coffee, nothing to write home about. Not much seating and no wifi so plan to get your items to-go.

I am a fan of sweet Pastries so I do try to know everyone in that biz… and Sara is known in the Israeli community. I always buy Doughnuts from them at Hanukkah — they have the BESTONES in the Valley ! :) However, I was quite disappointed from the rest of their pastries. First — all the mini ones(tiramisu, mango, coconut etc) were too sweet, and some were too dry; Not enough cream. Some did not even taste like the flavor they should taste… such as Mango. The Napoleon cake was a BIG disappointment — the cream felt like it was NON-Dairy… it was boring & plain… this was the WORSE Napoleon cake I ever had… and was the first one ever to be tossed to the garbage. It tasted even worse a day after… I’ll keep giving them a try till I try it all, and I’m sure there will be some good surprises… but so far — from $ 50 order, I only loved the Doughnuts… and they have them for only a short time a year… what a shame… I’d buy them all year long if I could ! I gave them an extra point due to the good service; the manager actually asked how was the service I got from the Cashier… that’s AWESOMESERVICE right there !! :) OWNER: how do you mess up Napoleon cake so badly ?! The cream is all wrong… the dough was too hard — it didn’t taste creamy at all. Are you not using sweet cream ? Those cakes are so good in Israel — I’d expect it to be as good here ! Lastly — Prices were QUITEHIGH for what you get… I mean, in the SAMEPRICE you can get better & bigger cookies at PORTOS… so why bother go to Sara, unless you like me really love their Doughnuts… OWNER: if Portos can sell in those prices, I’m sure you can too !

Due to a Unilocal review, we stopped in at Sara J’s. Very friendly and welcoming. Everything made from scratch. I had the French toast which was elegantly plated with an abundance of lovely berries and amazing whipped cream. Totally deelish. The pastries in the cases were like sparkling jewels in a treasure chest. Check out the pictures. Beautiful and elegant… who knew? Not the greatest location but it’s really about wonderful food.

I had the pleasure of sampling many of these Culinary Delights, Heavenly!!! Usually I like too do my own desserts, however Sara J’s desserts were a pure Delight, it was such a pleasure too add them to the dessert bar. Not only are they simple beautiful, they are a like eating a little taste of Heaven, DELISH! I have never been too the bakery as it is not near our location nor the areas that we service, however I certainly wish it were, I would be one of their regulars for sure. If you are ever in the area near Sara J’s Treat Yo Self to any of her Delightful Desserts, you will not be disappointed.

Went for their French Toast with a guest and my guest pointed out a cock a roach walking down the wall. We have not returned nor will we this, it’s unacceptable and far from KOSHER! That’s what I get for deviating from our clean and consistent deli.

Why can’t you leave no stars? My review is solely based on the non-service. After calling and getting the hours. The unpleasant woman that answered the phone should have been the first clue. There were four of us and we were not greeted when we came in. Second sign. So after standing around after 5 minutes we left. This establishment is a Kosher and from the way we were treated I gather they do not like serving African-Americans. This place is definitely not good to try out. It’s the kind of place where they cater to a specific type of group and do not welcome outsiders.

We’ve tried to order a few times via eat24, but their third party service is never able to deliver, despite me living within a mile and a half. I don’t drive and my fiancée is busy a lot of the time when I order. A shame their 3rd party delivery service lets them down, because their food sounds amazing.

Chose this place over the diner across the street for its café ambiance. Discovered a hearty grill and gorgeous, delicious pastries. Tried the house special breakfast, Shakshuka. The poached eggs on a bed of tomato garlic sauce. The eggs were perfectly poached and the sauce was delicious, full of vegetable goodness and not oily, but flavorful. The parsley chopped on top looked like a garnish, but turned out to be a fresh and perfectly spicy counterpoint to the comfort food goodness of the eggs. Finished with a passion fruit mini cake and an aromatic, intriguingly dark coffee that they undersold as the good regular cup. Priced comparably to Starbucks, but way more satisfying.

Love their desserts! My favorite is the pistachio cake. They are not always available to purchase but do purchase them if you see them being sold. They are SO yummy!

One of my personal favorites! Sara J delivers on all fronts. Pros: love the taste of all their baked goods! Personal favorite are the individual mini deserts! Also a big fan of the pastry cookies which are a great filler and addition to any desert table. All the ingredients are fresh and prepared solely for the client on the day off the event! Great service and staff and timely accommodations. Cons: only downside is small variety on large birthday cakes. Novelty: love the chocolate trio mousse and fruit tart!

Selection of cookies is big. They got fresh food and I love the inlet sandwich with small house salad. I specially like the dressing of their house salad !! Try their desserts . The only problem is I have to wait for food for a while

I was having a super bad day recently. The kind of day where I just wanted to drown my sorrows in cake; thankfully my handy dandy Unilocal app lead me right to Sara J Pastries and Cakes — a quiet little establishment about a block away from the Orange Line(look for it directly across from the Starbucks). Street parking was no issue, with parking out front, and a residential neighborhood to the back of the store. It was a quiet day, and I was unable to make a U-turn in traffic, so I parked about a block away in the residential neighborhood and enjoyed the quick stroll to the storefront. The cakes were all laid out in the display case to the lefthand side. Sara J’s had large cakes in the $ 28-$ 36 price range(that looked absolutely divine!) as well as a large selection of smaller cakes. They also served brownies, cookies and pastries(to the display case to the front), and teas and coffees. The worker was a very helpful and cheery man. I selected a(small size) chocolate mousse cake, raspberry cake, and passion fruit cake and my total was just under $ 12. A few hours later I divvied the cakes up amongst my family members(but the chocolate cake was ALL mine!). It was a wonderfully decadent triple chocolate layer cake(dark, white, milk) that was crammed with chocolate shavings on the top(every bite had numerous chocolate shavings in it). The cake was a perfect portion and had just the right amount of richness. Also the presentation of the cakes was simply wonderful. I would gladly return here and have Sara J’s in mind for a quick stop the next time it’s someones birthday(or I’m having one of those days!)
