Westside Tile and Stone, Inc

If you are thinking of remolding your bathroom think twice before buying at Westside tile, it is a great place to go to see a large variety of tiles and get inspiration. Truly so many choices and prices are expense at Westside tile, I purchased subway tile 80 sq ft at $792 plus tax and shipping charges whereas Floor & Décor it $254 and NO shipping charges and at Westside tile all sales are final whereas at Floor & Décor they have an 90 days return policy. We look at several options for the shower and floor but were unable to get a price, this because they don't carry stock and so everything is contingent on shipping which is so unreliable right now. The salesperson did email me an estimate within two days. We order the tiles and stated to add extra.

After the tiles arrived I was informed that I can pick up the tiles, so I informed the installer, he notice on the corner title he was short 6 pieces of the corner tile. I contacted Westside tile and the salesperson informed me it will take 3 or four days and you will need to pay the shipping charges again. So much for customer services and asked to talk to the manger. Michael calls me the next day but didn’t care about my problems. I ended up at Floor & Décor to buy the corner tile and they were in stock.

When I found out later that Westside Tile is not a member of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) that stand for business that operates with trustworthy, integrity and excellence services. I should’ve raised a red flag.

Just wanted to add that I went to Westside Tile to get ideas for a house I was building out of state two years ago. Even knowing this the sales person took considerable time helping me to design a glass back-​splash even though I was only idea shopping. He even gave me the formula and sizes for the design I wanted and was most accommodating. Not being able to find any store with a selection of tiles and textures that I can see and feel in person, forcing me to web «order», I am going back to order the back-​splash and have it shipped tomorow.
If we, as consumers, continue to go to stores, then turn around and order product from the web because it is a bit cheaper, there will be a day of no stores when it will be impossible to feel and create with products at our fingertips and we will find that the lovely shopping trips will evolve into interaction with a 22×16″ screen with no heart, no expert advise, no sounding board, no contact, no heart, and no creative interactions now caught in a drab and dearie mechanical world.

Rude, rude, rude! I am sorry I wasted my time in a store that acts like it can’t be bothered. If you care about doing business with polite people, stay away. I am not surprised by all the negative one star reviews here.

Working with Westside tile has been an absolute pleasure. As someone who routinely builds houses, their selection and expertise has allowed my business to flourish also. They carry tile in every price-​range which is great for all my projects. They have the best looking tile showroom I have ever seen and are always there to back up their products and give advice on anything I may need.

We recently remodeled our house. We needed tile for the kitchen and bathrooms. Our salesperson, Anne Marie was patient, helpful and accommodating. She went out of her way to provide samples for us and always got us the best price. We have more tile to buy and will be going back to Westside. Thanks Anne Marie for your excellent service.

Unfortunately I must update my previous review… Julio is still a very nice salesman and he has nothing to do with this review.
However, the same cannot be said about the owner Steve! I was about to purchase stone tile again from Westside Tile and Stone and I had a sample board of what I wanted in my car. The price that was quoted at first was $ 27.50 per sq ft. Then the price changed to $ 24.50 per sq ft.
When I got home I decided to go on line and find out about the stone I had picked out. I had never purchased this particular stone before and I wanted to know more and check on pricing.
To my surprise the stone was online for $ 19.00 per sq ft… when I called Julio the next day and asked him about the company that was selling it online he told me «that’s the same company as the board in your car.»
When I inquired at both the supplier and at Westside I learned that indeed the stone was the same. Julio told me the stone they sold on line was of inferior quality but the company disputed that and said they sell the same stone on line and to Westside Tile and Stone.
I received a call from Steve and he told me he didn’t like customers who check for better prices on line. I told him that everyone goes on line today and he cannot control what customers do on their computers. This is the way of the world today!
Next Steve contacted the supplier and threatened to have their boards thrown out of his store if they didn’t take down ads on line for the stone. I had ordered some samples on line and the supplier cancelled my order and refused to sell the tile to me because Steve told them if they did they’d be out of his store!!!
The products are back on Amazon and EBay now and my new tile man was able to purchase what I needed from the supplier at the reduced price. If money is no issue and you don’t mind spending thousands of dollars more to be a customer of Westside Tile and Stone you’re lucky.
For me the extra $ 3,000.00 that Westside was going to charge me is just not ok for me and my family. If I wish to donate that kind of money it’s going to go to a reputable charity not Steve’s pocket.
They’ve lost a customer forever. Hope this helps some other naïve shopper out there!

i had some broken floor tiles in my kitchen. It was very difficult to locate matching tiles. I came to Westside Tile store where i met Steve who promptly was able to locate the company that match my tile, and he sent Mike to replace my tiles. They did an excellent job. Steve, your service is outstanding!

I worked closely with Bob and Niki for our marble backsplash tile and our caeserstone countertops. Both were extremely helpful and available. i found that they answered my calls and questions immediately and were very knowledgeable about the materials. We also received our order is a very timely manner. I would trust them in future with other remodel projects. Definitely recommend them as their customer service was superb!

Had an issue with the manufacturer sending the wrong tile to Westside… Steve got on the phone and took care of the issue for me, on the spot. Very much appreciated!

Came here for a kitchen backsplash and was blown away at the selection in their showroom. I don’t know what the other reviewers are mentioning in terms of being ignored because I was approached by multiple people to help guide me through their selection. I ended up with a stunning glass tile backsplash that is the envy of all my friends. Definitely the place to go for all your tile needs! Will be back for my bathroom remodel in a couple months.

We couldn’t be happier with the service and the selection found at Westside tile. They were recommended to me by a coworker who is thrilled with what she found for her home. It took us two trips to decide on the bathroom tile collection because there were so many choices. Bob C. worked with us through various ideas and our final collaboration looks fantastic! He kept us informed with the shipping details and made sure we had all the care information we needed. We were so happy we went back for our backsplash and are equally thrilled with the results and our experience in the planning and ordering.

Rude and of noxious people here. They are unhelpful, I’m grateful and most of them act like they hate their jobs. They’re doing you a favor by allowing you in the store. No one will ever greet you or ask you if they can help you in this place. To top that, they are nearly double the price another tile stores.

Worst service ever! Unless you want to be harassed and deal with incompetent people stay away!
I called and was hung up on twice no one wanted to help me. The manager stated my concerns were not his problem. They told me to call back when Amelia was back because she was the rep I spoke to, when I asked if there was record of me in their system they said yes and said it wasn’t their account and hung up on me again!
This place is also way over priced.
Treat your customers good and appreciate their business. This by far has been the worst service I have ever received. I would never recommend this place, lack of professionalism and product is mediocre at best.
The owner of the company is on Unilocal commenting back to customers calling them «liars».. . Really??? Laughable! Goes to show he sets the tone for the overall attitude in his business! Advice to owner, hire someone to manage your customer service because you obviously can’t.

I have never written a review because I know how a negative review can affect a business but I just started this account to write one about this place. Hopefully no one else will go through the nightmare I have gone through.
1) Save your money there’s a ton of stores 15 min. away in North Hollywood on Sherman way for less than ½ the price. I took the same tile in from a store on Sherman way and they confirmed it was the exact same product they had. They quoted me $ 21 & I ended up paying $ 10.85 by doing research and shopping other stores. I got it from International tile & Stone, go there they were so nice and helpful!
2) They gave me the wrong product and when I told the owner he harassed me & yelled at me telling me he didn’t have time to deal with the nonsense & hung up the phone. I seriously thought it was a joke I was utterly shocked. I lost so much money because of their mistake and unreliable dates on getting me the right products I ordered.
3) Cherly, not sure what she does there, definitely not provide good customer service, is a joke and incompetent.
Save your money, time and energy and go to a company that appreciates your business!!!

Came to Westside Tile and was blown away at not only their selection but also their customer service. I Roamed the store for about 15 – 20 minutes during my first visit and 3 separate people asked me if I needed help. I’m just at the beginning phase of my project but left with plenty of samples and ideas from Anne-​Marie. She was great in helping put my ideas on paper and visualize my pictures on houzz with real tiles found through the store.
Definitely my go-​to store for my entire house during this remodel!

I wrote a review some time ago and deleted it after a series of belligerent, bullying phone calls from the store’s owners.
While I won’t rewrite the details of my interactions with this company – largely for fear they will harass me again – I will say that throughout the entire process, from first interaction to last, I’ve never been treated so badly. I debated for almost two years whether or not to repost a review here and finally decided no one should be treated the way that I was.
Their business practices are abhorrent, their customer service nonexistent and, while their showroom is impressive, it’s also incredibly overpriced. The same products and better are available at several other retailers; you just have to look a little harder, but you’ll pay a lot less, both financially and emotionally.
My husband and I trekked out to Canoga Park six times only to be given the run around, promised products they couldn’t deliver on our timeline and pushed items they knew were triple our budget, then made us feel pathetic when we said we couldn’t afford them. They attacked the legitimacy of our contractor when they gave us a subpar product, squandered our money, wasting our time and, ultimately, mistreating and intimidating me when I made the effort to warn other patrons of their shoddy practices.
If they want to call and threaten me again, the can. This time I won’t be intimidated.
I said it before, I’ll say it again: BUYER BEWARE! This place is a SHAM and a SCAM, DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE! Obviously I was not good enough to shop at their location as their tile was too good for me. I went there one weekend and asked the price on a particular tile. None of their samples are priced. You have to ask a person in the office what the price is. I was told one price and figured OK. I went back the following weekend and asked about the tile as I was ready to order. The price was now 33% higher than what I was told the week before.
When I asked if they had a sale the previous week I was told ‘We don’t have sales’. I then told them about the difference in price and they tried to change the subject. I asked again and I pointed out the person who told me the quote the week before. The guy looked at me, shook his head and said ‘No, I never said that’.
Now I’m a liar.
The tile was nice but I went to Home Depot to see what they had. Not glamorous but I earn my money and like to keep as much of it as I can. The tile I found for my floor was $ 6/​sq ft. at Westside Tile. At home Depot it was $ 1.59/sq ft. The wall tile they quoted $ 18/​sq ft on week and then $ 25/​sq ft the next week. Home Depot had tile in the same style (not exactly the same) and the most expensive price was $ 17/​sq ft. I eventually purchased a nice tile in the same style for $ 12/​sq ft. I can now complete my job for $ 305 instead of the $ 750 it would have costs me at this place.
They wrote out a quote (to get the price right) before I left Westside Tile the second time. They promised they would call me the next morning to let me know about delivery times as the lead time was tight. I never heard from them.
