They tend to keep these places small don’t they? I lived by and frequently visited the Farmington Hills location for their tater tots(OMGTHOSETOTS!) and the variety of burgers you could get. Now I live by the Novi location and have only been once to no fault of theirs. I JUSTHATETHETRAFFIC! Ford Rd. traffic is the worst around that area and I hate even thinking about fighting through it for a burger. Don’t get me wrong, build a burger is a great concept and executed well here. Costs seem a little higher than FH, I’m sure because of location. Service was friendly but can be distracted by regulars at times. Guess it’s all part of the game. On the inside, it’s mainly dark wood and bricks, with tv’s lighting your way around.

Great food and great service! I would ignore any negative reviews and definitely try this place out for yourself! Initially looking at the menu I thought it was a bit over priced but after getting the food you realize you get what you pay for! It was quality well prepared food. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area! Great job to everyone working today!!! CHECKTHISPLACEOUT!!!

With 144 reviews, I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to add much other than this– I find the burgers to be pretty bland. I’ve had their«everything but the kitchen sink» burger, as well as a couple others. While the topping are decent, the burger patties, while juicy, are pretty flavorless. I do enjoy the tater tots, but those don’t come standard with the burgers, those are add ons. Plenty of tvs to watch the game, and I know they do trivia on certain nights, but this place is pretty small, and the parking lot has been under construction for a while(I think they may have finally finished up) which made getting there a hassle. OVERALL– I’ll pass. A decent place to socialize if you have a small group, I feel there are better options for burgers in the area. CELEBRITYRATING– Hey Vern

Lots of fun making your burger as over-the-top as you like with loads of topping options. Friendly staff and good service.

I bought a Groupon for $ 16 worth of food and was excited to try out this place. It had gotten good reviews on Unilocal, the menu looked tasty, and I had heard good things about the Farmington Hills location. So, my eating companion and I made our way to the location on a Friday afternoon. The parking lot was under construction and it was a little awkward but we found a parking spot and made our way in. I could see where they were going with the ambiance based on the name. The feel was as if you had walked down the stairs into a basement and were going to order something to eat… kind of a cheers feel, where everybody knows your name. I decided on the 8 oz. burger on a wheat bun with french fries and my eating companion got the Kobe burger on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries. We also ordered the macaroni bites for an appetizer. The macaroni bites came and they were tasty but they reminded me of something frozen and reheated. My eating companion really liked them. Then, our entrees arrived. It was okay, not horrible but also not memorable. My eating companion felt the same. The sweet potato fries were particularly tasty and the cinnamon butter dip was divine. They were easily the best thing to me. The food made us feel heavy after and both of us felt not so great after our meal. Needless to say, we probably won’t be returning to Basement Burger Bar.

What great food! This is a constant«hey have you been too …» at work. Pricing is very good for a burger bar but to have top notch eats and a great craft brew listing. We will be back more!
