Began searching for a couch and remembered the Ethan Allen store in Canton. Anticipated that their products would be on the pricey side. The first thing the store presents is attitude; whether the grumpy receptionist or the so called«designer»; I wouldn’t buy a pack of gum from this store. Clearly the customer experience is not a priority and a «do you know who we are?» approach seems to be acceptable. Will be happy to take our business to other high end retailers.

I’ve been searching for just the right piece to adorn one of our living room walls, and a day off brought me to rt. 44 and a variety of different spots. While i didn’t purchase anything here, i did have a good experience nonetheless. Now, as a girl on a budget, i was taking a chance coming here– it is ethan allen, after all. The prices did live up to my expectations, but i also discovered a clearance room, so that was a good find. There was a salesmen who came over and introduced himself, and then did an excellent job of making himself scarce(i HATE when they hover). But don was great. When i had clearly evaluated the whole store(including their selection of custom images), don came over to see what i was thinking and if he could help. Upon explanation of needing ‘just the right’ thing, he immediately agreed that when i saw it i would know, and sent me off with a catalogue, advising me to check the website for a larger selection. I greatly appreciated his professionalism and demeanor. If i had the money, i would definitely come back. On another note, i had thoughtlessly left my purse(!) on a couch and then walked away. When i realized what i had done, i returned to find a saleswoman literally standing guard over it– literally. If you can afford it, i would absolutely choose this ethan allen.

very difficult experience with quality of furniture and then lame response from store management. I bought two recliners and an ottoman. 8 weeks later two recliners came and one was broken. seat bottom was drawn into the seat evertime the damn thing was put back in «chair» position. I informed the store and they said they could do «great» things with their«repair guy». I had to take a day off from work and«repair guy» said he cold not possibly fix it, and just took pictures. He also could not pick it up. I had to take another day off from work for the movers to bring it back and get it «fixed» in the store. The chair came back very different. They simply«fixed» it by removing the plush cushion and replacing it with a thin cushion. It was a «fast one». I told them I wanted some compensation for all this trouble and missed vacation days and store management was very reluctant until I got alot of people outside the store and in the management involved. The quality of this once landmark name Ethan Allan, has taken a dive apparently. It is also noted that they seem perplexed that a customer would want some compensation or concession on chair for having missed so many vacation days. They finally gave me a paltry 106 dollars off, and then after the bothched repair, argued with me until they gave me another 106 off. Still not fixed and 10 weeks more to delivery of new chair, No letters from the sales person or or oppolgies were written. Would have been a nice touch. Very crude and incompetent bunch.
