Ferguson’s Fireside

I’ve had lots of experiences with Ferguson’s. They have always been punctual and professional. Their prices are good and the work is top notch. All the estimates I’ve had were free. I use them, I have friends and family who use them. None of us have ever had a problem they couldn’t fix. I use Ferguson’s, and I recommend them to everyone.

We used fergusons last year to have our (originally wood burning but previous owner turned into a gas fireplace) returned to its original wood burning state. We called about an estimate and they came out the next day. Our estimate was free and I liked that they offered us many different options as far as replacing some damage to our damper. Honestly my husband and I had no clue anything was wrong with the fireplace/​chimney except we knew that the gas piece wasn’t working (not that we wanted gas anyways) but we told the gentlemen we were looking to use the fireplace occasionally not as a main source of heat for our house during the winter. He was very up front and honest with us and told us we mostly likely didn’t need the extra pull at the top (to prevent freezing) since we would only be using our fireplace occasionally but that if in the future we ever wanted to add it on we could. I like that they were up front honest (showed up on time) and didn’t try to up sell us. I would recommend them if you are looking for fireplace work: repairs to be done

Don’t believe the «Free Estimate» they tell you. I wanted an estimate for duct cleaning as well as my chimney cleaned. I scheduled an appointment to have my chimney cleaned and he said the guy who comes out will give me a «free estimate» for my ductwork cleaning. Two hours before they were to show, the company that I’m ordering my new fireplace doors from came to measure. He inspected the chimney and said it doesn’t need cleaned. I almost canceled my appointment but remembered they were to give me a «free estimate» for the ductwork. They get here, walk over to the fireplace and within 10 seconds say «Doesn’t need cleaned». They now proceed to walk around my home counting vents for the estimate for the ductwork cleaning. He hands me my estimate of $ 800.00 for the duct cleaning, the says «I need a check for $ 60.00 for the service call». Excuse me, I was told free estimates. I was never told there is a $ 60.00 «service call». He says its for the chimney call. I said… «You were coming over to give an estimate for the duct cleaning correct? Yes… «So you were coming over anyways?» Yes… my boss makes me do this all the time and I’m tired of being made out to be the asshole.
Don’t do business with this guy. I paid the $ 60.00, but he lost the $ 800.00. I almost certainly would have paid for the duct cleaning, especially after a huge remodel but he chose to lie and be dishonest.
