Kenneth C. Freeman dba Make The Connection was referred to us by a friend that has used him in the past. He is both licensed in plumbing and electrical, so he seemed to be the perfect fit for all we needed done in my new house. I called Ken up and asked him to come out and give us an estimate while I was still in the due diligence period of my contract. I told him everything that needed to be done; hot water heater replaced, receptacles grounded, toilet replaced, another toilet fixed, washer connections modified to standard, dryer duct ran under the house, water line installed for the ice maker, and wiring ran and a ceiling fan installed in the master bedroom. He came out and gave us a quote which he said was a lot higher than what he’d actually charge so I could get the seller to chip in more money on closing costs. GREAT! Or so I thought. After buying and closing on the house I had Ken come back out to do all the work which he had quoted us for. He agrees then comes out to do the work, but once he is there I find out that he is only going to replace the hot water heater and reground the receptacles; that he doesn’t want to do the rest of the work. Fine, just get it done I’m thinking. So he replaces the hot water heater and regrounds the receptacles which he had quoted $ 1200 for those 2 items, so I am thinking maybe he’ll charge me around $ 900 for the little bit of work he actually did. Nope, he sends me an invoice for $ 1200; $ 900 for the water heater and $ 300 for the receptacles. His thought on this was that because he was coming from Canton to Buckhead that the job actually took longer than expected. I will give him a little credit. The job he did with the water heater and receptacle was actually pretty good; but his whole attitude toward it knocks off a couple of stars from his rating. I will not be calling him back to do the rest of the work, or any other work that might arise.
