Papa Gyros

Plenty of great food per plate for the most affordable restaurant in the area! I love the gyro platter and tzatziki sauce (I always get extra). My wife gets the Grecian chicken salad. A friend of mine loves the souvlaki here. Can’t pass up baklava and other pastries either. So good! Great service. Incredible price.

The décor of this place is a cross between Bob Evans and Olive Garden. Food is great and very fresh. Service was professional. The sauce or dip for the pita is delicious.

In Canton OH for business. Wonderful Gyro deluxe plate. Lamb chops are to die for. A place to visit again. Gyrolicous!

Food was amazing! Nicole was extremely friendly and helpful! Everything looked so good I couldn’t make a decision so Nicole recommended that I sample a few a la carte items from the menu! It truly gave me the opportunity to taste the flavors of the delicious sauces and garlic pita bread, falafel, battered mushrooms, fire feta & tzatzkiki sauce humus was also incredible and the baklava was by far the best I ever had! Not everyday do you find a CLEAN!, FRIENDLY, MOM AND POP AUTHENTIC GREEK RESTAURANT THIS PLACE IS A MUST IF YOU VISIT AKRON WELL WORTH THE MONEY YOU DEFIANTLY WONT LEAVE HUNGRY
Also if you are vegetarian like me they have a separate menu of platters which is tremendous there’s something for everyone at PAPA GYROS!

Amazing service! Amazing food! This is our first time here. I would highly recommend trying this place out. Our server Courtney was absolutely wonderful. She was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. We will be back!

First off upon walking in we were greeted immediately. Promptly taken to our table. Kelly was our server tonight and she was phenomenal! She offered is a long list of spirits and we chose red wine to pair with our and steak. Food was satisfying company even better but the wait staff impeccable. Amazing night out!!!

Decent Greek food that isn’t rushed. Greek music playing in the background adds to the ambiance.

We love this location. It’s more formal compared to the Cleveland road location. We always get the best service here and the consistency of the food is always excellent at this location.

Whenever I am in town and in the mood for Greek this is the only restaurant I choose.

My family and I love to dine in at Papa gyros their ingredients are always fresh and service is the best. one of my favorite things to get is the steak souvlaki the rice and Greek salad are delicious my kids love the gyro meat. my husband enjoys the lamb shank with Greek potatoes. the restaurant is always clean and staff is always very friendly. we never leave before getting a baklava sundae. can’t wait for our next dinner at papa gyro s.

If you are in the Canton area and are looking for something good to eat then I suggest Papa Gyro’s! The restaurant was clean, the service friendly and the food great!

Getting a side of the spanakopita, tiropita and dolmade is not worth the $ 5 because you only get one small piece of each. Just add $ 5 to get the Vegetarian Platter because you get so much more for the price. The Olympian platter comes with a lot of meat so by sharing the two platters we got a great balance of food to try.

It used to be good. I think ever since they opened up a location in Green their service and food has declined, even the Green location has never been that good. My family dined at the North Canton on Sat Oct 11 and upgraded to the Greek green beans which used to be fabulous. Now they taste like they came from a can, no tomatoes and added canned carrots and no seasoning. I don’t know when they changed the recipe since it has been a while since we visited but the server had no idea what I was talking about so they must have been newer employees. They also have cut down on their portions over the years, quality & service has gone down. Also their spanikopita has never been good, don’t order it. I’m Greek and used to enjoy coming here, now I need to find somewhere else.

I LOVE Papa Gyros, I think there food is superb and tasty. However, I would not recommend this papa gyros simply because of the poor service that I’ve gotten there. It’s not that the service is just bad, but it’s CONSISTENTLY bad. I can’t remember the last time I’ve gone there and had my order actually be right the first time I placed it. They’ve either given me the completely wrong item, didn’t make it the way I wanted it, didn’t give me my entire order or made me wait about 40 minutes for one gyro. Don’t get me wrong, the food is delicious, but I would recommend going to the one on Cleveland Avenue instead of this one. At least they’ll get your order right.

We were in the mood for Greek food and Papa Gyros was near our hotel so in we went. All in all, it was OK. I got the Greek Vegetarian Platter. The dolmades and the tzatziki were pretty good. Everything else was pretty ordinary.
Our waitress was nice and another man (owner? manager?) came by to see how we were. The room was comfortable and seemed amenable to families. I got the sense that they sincerely want to do a good job. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing or ordered it on the wrong night but, for now, it’s three stars from me.

Wow. I was completely insulted by the girl who took my phone order. Because of her, I will never give this restaurant my business again.
This evening (8÷20÷2014), I placed a phone order for the Moussaka Platter, a Greek Sampler, and a Kid’s Cheese Pizza for my 4 year old. The platter and sampler come with salad and we ordered house dressing. In addition, I asked for rice on the side (as that is pretty much the only thing my 19 month old will eat). She repeated the order back to me, including the rice and house dressing, and everything seemed fine.
My husband picked up the order on his way home from the office, and lo and behold, no rice. So my picky 19 month old gets to starve and/​or I have to let my food get cold while I prepare him rice at home. Yay me.
And to add icing to the insult cake, I call them, just to let them know the mistake was made with our order (we weren’t going to drive all the way back down there, but a manager should be made aware that mistakes were made in takeout orders, which are just as important as sit-​down orders). And the girl who answered the phone said, «Well, I’m the person who took your order and I don’t believe you ordered rice.» I said, «Madam, you repeated my order back to me, including the rice I ordered.»
So basically, she’s calling me a liar for wanting to pay for a side of rice and calling them about not getting it. What do I have to gain by calling them? Apparently, I get to be insulted by the staff. And I still have a hungry 19 month old.

Well, it seems like a nice place. I ordered the 2 gyro’s platter and my son ordered a single gyro place. The waitress was nice enough but pressured, only slightly, to order a few sides. I’m a big eater and love gyro’s, so why not.
Food comes and my son and I am greeted by a mountian of lamb. I mean freakin huge amount of meat. Little did I know that it had buried the onions and tomatoes so when I asked for more I got a little .25 and .15 cent charge. Good lamb, some dumb charge. No big deal.
So the sides. After this huge amount of food for the gyros I thought to myself. I don’t need the sides. but I ordered it so lets taste it. My greek potatoes tasted terrible. I’m pretty sure they were days old. They had the worst flavor. I told the waitress this but she seemed to think it was just the flavor of the potatoes.
It seems silly to say this but I think I’ll stick to the Papa Gryo’s that in the mall food court.

Always good for a quick bite.
Grecian salads are very large and are served with sliced pita. Choice of steak, chicken or lamb. Gyros are good sized as well.
Try a piece of baklava for dessert. Always a sweet treat!

Very good Greek food at a fair price. Service is good and I’ve never had a bad meal there.

The meat was tender and the waitress was okay. I would eat there again. The portions are generous. They have some $ 5 drink specials and I chose the rum and Coke. I was offered an option of tall or short. They both have the same amount of alcohol but the tall one just has more Coke. I thought that was strange.

I’d never been a fan of Greek food before going to Papa Gyros, I’d only had gyros at places like the fair, but I’ve been going here for more than five years.
