Razor’s Edge-Avondale Barber Shop

Patti has cut my hair for 17+ years! She is a dedicated barber who cares about her client. She is skilled and has the know how for a nice hair cut. It is hard to find a barber with this dedication.

I am visiting my in-​laws from SoCal, and stopped into The Razor’s Edge because it is close. This is a true Barber Shop, and the owner, Patti, has been cutting men’s hair for 20 years. My head presents a bit of a challenge because of alopecia in the back, but Patti knew what to do and she gave me the best haircut I’ve had since moving from Chicago to SoCal 4 years ago. Plus, she’s just very nice! You can tell that she is very skilled and enjoys cutting men’s hair. If I lived here, Patti would be my regular barber. Give her a shot at your own head… you will not be disappointed.

After getting my hair butchered, again, at one of the big chain places (Great Clips, Super Cuts, Amazing Chops, whatever…) I went looking for someone I could trust to get it right.
Patti at Razors Edge is that person! She has the experience, it’s her shop, and she obviously takes pride in getting the details right. The price is not any different than you’d pay anywhere else, which is great considering the consistency and quality of her cuts. There’s always plenty of good, recent reading material available if you have to wait (newspaper, ESPN mag, men’s mags, etc.) I’m usually able to walk in after work and be 1^st, 2^nd, or 3^rd in line.
She’s also great at the often underrated side of getting a haircut: talking back and forth. She’s nice, funny, able to talk about whatever. We’ve all been there where you get into the chair to get a cut and the person cutting your hair might be doing a decent job, but it is awkwardly, painfully silent the entire time. Or the opposite, they pick up right where they left off with the last person and give you a 15 minute monologue about whatever bugs them that day. Going in to get my haircut with Patti is like visiting a friend you haven’t seen in a few weeks.
She’s the one person I’ll visit in Canton to cut my hair. Good price, good quality, good person.
