Skatin’station II

I had purchased a groupon online for four skating passes with skate rentals and a drink included for each person.
First and foremost: the potholes in the parking lot are atrocious. Avoid the Joy Road entrance if you can, lest your car will be destroyed by these massive potholes. However, they were considerate enough to put an orange traffic cone in the middle of the one of the larger ones.
Upon entry into the lobby, we were greeted with a stench unlike any other. I cannot describe it, other than the fact that it made us all ill. The counter woman took a few minutes to help us, but was nice overall.
The skate rental boys were unprofessional, leering at both me and my younger cousin. All the employees were apathetic and clearly did not want to be there. The skates themselves were disgusting, sweaty and unwashed. The entire place could use a deep clean. Everything from the bathrooms, to the eating area, to the rink itself was sticky and gross. We left after about 45 minutes and will not consider returning.

Dirty. Discusting. Rude employees. The lobby smelled like urine. We left after 20 minutes. Will not return. Back to Riverside we go.

I’m a mentor at the school I work for and I brought my mentees here. I purchased a Groupon for 4 and also received a free medium drink with the coupon. The skating was nice and big and it was perfect for families. They played kosher music, no hip-​hop or rap, that’s only played on certain days. All in all the girls really enjoyed it.

Skatin’ Station II is the same in 2011 as it was in 1995 — there hasn’t been one update. The skates are still a mess, the star-​spangled carpet is still sticky, and the food is still too expensive. However, we went on Sunday’s old school R&B night, and it was a fun, non-​traditional date. If you want to feel like you’re in middle school all over again, I highly recommend getting your groove on on Sunday nights.

Never again! Their website said there was open skating on Monday’s except the first Monday of the month well on the 3^rd Monday I tried to take my niece skating and they told us no they have no open skating that night just because so I took my sad niece out of that dungeon of a place & we had to find something else to do.

Clean, lots of new or slightly used skates for rent, reasonable prices all around. The DJs are good, top 40 mostly but if the requests are heavy on hip hop or old school the music will sway that way. Always a big crowd for adult skate so if you like to party on skates this is a good place. Kind of tricky to find the first time.
