Studio 1 Salon

Saw so many great reviews, decided to try it out despite it being a good 35 mins from my house. Got an email appt confirmation at 8 p.m. for a 9 a.m. appt for the next day with Brenda. Got there at 8:57 a.m. Went in at 9 a.m. At 9:05, a woman entered who clearly worked there. She was the receptionist (Torri) who proceeded to ignore me, no eye contact, no greeting — just went to her desk, about her business. No sign of stylist «Brenda» in sight. Asked receptionist– «are you the receptionist?» she says «yes, are you here for someone?» (why else would I be seated at 9 a.m. in their waiting area?). I said, yes, Brenda for a 9 a.m. She said «Brenda’s not here yet.» (Figured that out.). 9:15 I ask «any idea where Brenda is?» Torri says «she’s only 15 minutes late, so she’ll be here soon». I said «any idea where she might be?» Torri says «her car isn’t that great, or it could be the weather» (wet pavement) and turns around and walks away. It was like she was actually saying «your time isn’t valuable, so just chill, the stylist will be here WHEN she’s ready». So, I decided to leave. No word from Brenda. Torri calls my mobile at 9:30 «Not sure where you went, but heard from Brenda, she has a flat tire but she’ll be here soon». Flat tire? Really? Come on. Honestly, how is this good, prompt professional service? Ignored by the receptionist (of all people! the only job is to TO GREET CUSTOMERS!) and then a no show from the stylist. Not great, Studio 1 Salon. Not great.

This is my second visit and I’m very happy with everything. The staff is very pleasant and go the extra mile. Jennifer is officially my new stylist. I love my cut and color.

I was so scared to go to the salon because it was my first time. But Studio 1 made it so easy.
At the front desk, I was greeted with a polite and friendly smile. After they checked me in, they offered coffee or water while I waited.
My hair stylist, Brittany was amazing! Words can’t describe what beautiful work she had done with my hair. She sat me down and asked my what color I was looking for and I told her I wanted an ombré and referenced a picture.
She was able to show me various shades of color that I could do. Once the color was decided she was gentle and precise with everything. She took her time, strand after strand to make sure everything came together.
Will definitely be going back! :)

I was in town for my bridal shower and wanted to get my hair blown out and styled. I was greeted by two friendly receptionists who were discussing that Don would be a better fit for me then Bridget who I was originally scheduled with. I was fine with the change because I have never been to the salon and didn’t know the stylists. Don was friendly, although proceeded to tell me he doesn’t typically do styles and he thought Bridget would do a better job. I showed him I wanted loose curls and he said he could handle it.
He washed my hair & put so much soap in my ear then asked if I had a cotton ball in my ear. No, it was a glob of shampoo.
Then he continued on to talk about how he never styles hair and he wishes more stylists were there to enjoy him curling my hair because he never curls hair. All while I was terrified my hair was going to look horrid for my bridal shower.
I ended up going home, washing my hair and restyling it myself.
On a positive note, he was gentle.
This experience was meant to pamper me but unfortunately ended up being a disappointment.

Same day appt. Sarah did a great job fixing my over processed hair. Nice cut and very soft now. They accept walk ins. Very nice ppl. It could use a little more spa type atmosphere

I’ve been going to the salon at this location for almost 15 years. I wasn’t particularly loyal but it was in a convenient location and took walk-​ins. However for the last few years that it has been Studio 1, I’ve noticed a great improvement from the physical layout to the service. I can highly recommend Bridget, as she has always been warm, friendly and very eager to help. Just this weekend I called to get an appointment on a Saturday and found they were nearly fully booked (summer weddings or something), when I mentioned that I’d normally seen Bridget the receptionist told me she had an appointment at 3pm and they closed at 5pm. Bummer. But I was put on hold and a quick minute later I was told Bridget would stick around and fit me in. Awesome! She didn’t mind that I changed my mind about how much I wanted trimmed off half way through either. The receptionist was kind and offered coffee or water when I walked in as well. You could certainly do worse for a salon. I can’t speak to the nails they do there now as I’ve never been for that.

Everything from the appearance of the place to the cut/​color was just average.

I had cut and color there twice with Joanna. I was very happy the first time, however, on the second visit my hair was way over-​processed and turned out very blond with white streaks throughout. The atmosphere in the salon was very unprofessional. I noticed that the stylists did a ton of chatting amongst themselves. Many of the staff there, including the owner are smokers and go out in a group every half hour or so to smoke. I noticed that my stylist was actually doing my hair in such a way as to plan for her smoke breaks and leaving me unattended for 15 – 20 minutes at a time (which is why my hair was over-​processed). Basically, every half hour or so while I was there, over half the staff were gone on smoke breaks together. This is no way to run a business! I really wanted to like this place and gave them two chances. I assured myself that the first visit was an isolated incident… and all the ratings were so good! Bottom line: I would not go here again or recommend it to anyone.

I have only been once… I am not a salon expert, not having been to a real salon except for twice in my life, this being the second. The week before my wedding, my mother scheduled us to have our hair done here. The girl who took me was professional, fun to talk to and very creative! I gave her, literally nothing, to work with other than I wanted it up. She did a wonderful job! I wish I could remember her name!

See Cindy, and you’ll get it. My hands are in great shape, and my natural nails are longer than this nail biter turned recovering acrylic-​junkie ever thought they could be.
Lindsay cuts my hair, and is also really good. She took a fair amount off my length, and gave me a pretty edgy cut quite fearlessly, which is a huge plus in my book (so often, hairdressers can be conservative, afraid to make a change too drastic) It also looked amazing on me! (Reminds me, I need a trim)
Walk-​ins are welcome, but I’d recommend an appointment, via the phone. They have online scheduling, but it seems to have some flukes. with the interface to the main salon scheduling program.
The vibe in the salon is high energy, beautiful, but you can also tell that everyone loves their work and each other. There is a lot of packed into the space, but somehow it works, and is clean and organized. Also, very well lit with flattering lighting and warm tones. The overall experience is comfortable and efficient.

It’s a nice salon, but I have the same problem there that I have at every salon, I find somebody who can cut and they stink at color. Next.

Dirty salon and people were not friendly. My hair was the biggest waste of money. I even got a bruise on the back of my head from when it was washed. The most unprofessional salon I have been to.
