The service people was nice and friendly. But the food is just very average. I don’t think I will come back again

Very good sushi in an unassuming place. They have a full liquor license. The tuna poppers were deliciius and the house rice is a must. Everything we had was good and inexpensive

We had a very nice business lunch at Takara. Came in at 11:30 when they opened and everything was fresh and delicious, and cooked just right. We had bento boxes which was plenty — a hearty portion. Service was attentive. I hope to return again the next time I am in Canton.

I love their sushi a lot. Very creative and yummy. Also, their drinks are not bad. My favorite drink is lychee Martini.

I did not care for the food at all. It was very average. Nothing special. Also, it is no longer a BYOB. Reviews on Unilocal that say it is are outdated and should be removed.

I really like this place for a local Sushi restaurant. Very authentic feel. The fish is fresh, there is a great selection, and the staff is great. I highly recommend.

Service was nice, they were friendly and not pushy. I tried the Chirashi from this place last week. It came in a flashing bowl that’s about 80% ice and a flashing light(never seen the ice part before). You don’t usually serve them over ice because it makes the sashimi so cold it’s hard to eat. The QUANTITY of the eatable portion was about 4 chunks(it was not thinly sliced and hard to chew). The QUALITY of their sashimi was pretty bad like it’s been left out for way too long… which kind of explain it why they have to serve it on ice. This is Japanese/Korean, so maybe people had better impressions on their Korean dishes…

If you know and like sushi, don’t go to this restaurant. The worst sushi rice I’ve had in a long time.

Not good. The food was inedible. We ordered the Seafood Hibachi, which was bland and completely overcooked, and the Hwe Dup Bab, which was horrible. My wife, who is Korean, couldn’t eat the Dup Bab at all. The staff was nice and tried to replace it, which was appreciated, but we declined. Since both dishes were poor, we didn’t want to try our luck again. We will not be back. They should review their menu and only include dishes they know how to prepare well. Korean, Japanese and Sushi dishes all require different expertise… don’t offer them if you don’t know how to cook them.

Can’t believe people give this restaurant good reviews. it was the worst food experience ever. old and cheap ingredients and over charged for what we get.

The okdoi bi bim bap is my favorite! You choose between chicken, tofu, steak, or pork and it comes in a hot stone bowl with rice, veggies, and hot sauce on the side. They also make really strong and creative drinks. I love that there’s a great Japanese-Korean restaurant locally.

Very average except for the dragon ball(yum!) Also note that their spicy tuna and spicy salmon does not have the mayo and fish mixed like most places. And it’s not crunchy. Maybe the stellar reviews are bc the sushi around isn’t so great either!!!

One of our friends introduced us to this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and we went again last Saturday and it has been great both times. The restaurant itself was warm and cozy and I felt comfortable to be in as some places can be loud, bright, and overwhelming so this was a plus. The first time I ordered the beef okdol bibimbap which was delicious and fresh and on Saturday, I ordered the tofu bibimbap(chilled version) and liked it as well. The portions on the dishes I ordered were huge and they give you a lot of veggies(some places don’t give you a lot) so you’re kind of getting what you paid for. What I like most about it was that it came with miso soup and it fitted perfectly since both days we went it was freezing out. We also ordered the tuna pizza for appetizer and it was good as well. The only thing I found weird was that they used either a wonton or nacho chip as the«crust» with the spicy tuna on top. It was still good, but totally random. Last, the servers were pretty good and attentive. They were quick to take our orders, bring them out, refill the waters as needed, and give us the checks. What more can you ask for? Next time I’m probably going to try the sushi rolls because each time I see a sushi dish goes by for other tables, it looks delicious, however I’m already sold on their bibimbap so I might stick with that.

Cozy lil sushi spot that offers super tasty and unique fresh rolls. We ordered a bunch of specialty rolls and were very happy with all of them! The server was friendly and attentive. Centrally located near a cute ice cream parlor to satisfy your sweet tooth cravings ;-)

Ok so I am now a Sushi connoisseur. I have got more and more adventurous and will I still have my staples I can say I have explored many of the dishes on this menu and I have visited many other sushi restaurants and I can with a great deal of confidence now say that there is no better place in terms of consistent quality at a great price. Takara has become my official business lunch restaurant and my weekly lunch treat. At great Sushi lunch for under $ 15, how can you go wrong?

We were on a hunt for some Japanese food after a trip to IKEA, sadly this place did not satisfy our cravings. We got various Korean dishes, and the mother-in-law could barely finish any of the dishes, the kalbi in particular was very tough and also nothing like authentic kalbi. We got a few other«Japanese» appetizers, they were decent, but definitely could tell it was not prepared by a Japanese chef. The service was decent though, I don’t like giving 2 stars, but this place is exactly that«meh, I’ve experienced better.»

Not expecting much based on its outside appearance, this restaurant really surprised me with an extensive and exotic drink menu(lychee martini I had was excellent) as well as pretty decent sushi rolls. They could improve the atmosphere in here a bit, however. It’s a bit basic and the service was a scattered, but overall, pretty good place. In the future, I think I will get take-out instead of dining in.
