We walked in to a half-empty restaurant with no one to greet us. We were finally given a lunch menu(at 7:30pm) with multiple items crossed off or written in. My menus’ prices/items didn’t even match my boyfriend’s menu. We seated ourselves and the table next to us had the previous parties’ eaten food on it the whole time we were there. Our waitress told us they were out of fish and chicken, and that they had a «short menu» even though it was opening day. We got our drinks(water) after 15 minutes. And our food after ~40 minutes. My boyfriends fork had dried food stuck to it when he unrolled it from his cloth napkin. Our food both had 2 ingredients total on it — nothing like it described on the menu. However, when no one was coming to give us our check, we ended up not even having to pay because we witnessed the whole staff(all 3 of them) walking out on the new manager.

Visited this place recently and was extremely impressed, great décor, music was good, bartender tried to be friendly, drinks were excellent, however, food was not an authentic Spanish tapas, however, more a fusion of other places. The cheese plate was huge, however, the quality seemed like it was off the supermarket rack and tasted average if most the wild boar egg rolls were really good. I grade this place C+ would be adequate for food, A+ for drinks and décor.

Our first visit here. More then likely our last visit. One young lady handled the door, waitress, bus person all in one. The tomato soup wasn’t bad. Crazy as it is, we were not offered bread with our meal. The waitress’s said the didn’t have any butter? Three entrees listed were not available. I’m anxious to see our meals. All in all, is bet this place will be closed with in a week or two. My opinion is we won’t be back.

I hate to leave this review, but feel its necessary for health purposes. The food, drinks and service were all great, 5 stars. The problem is the leaking pipe at the bar in the basement. When we were almost finished with dinner, we noticed drips that were coming down from a pipe above us. When we looked up, we even noticed a napkin that was already placed there, so they clearly already knew about the leak. When we told the waitress, a few other people came over to look, and their only solution was to wrap another napkin around it. We then moved to the bar, when we left, i looked at the table, noticed the leak was still there, and they set the table for another party to sit there. I am not sure what that drain pipe was for, but it really doesn’t matter, it is disgusting. Since they knew about it already, no one should sit there, until it is fixed.

Stopped in with a group. and we took some seats at the bar. Our bartender — and I cannot remember her name — was awesome. She made some fantastic suggestions in both food and drink, the décor and atmosphere were welcoming without being stifling, and such a great respite from the usual. I love the diversity of this area. Service still means something here and it shows. Keep up the great work !

We loved this place! My husband and I shared the Empanadas, Meatballs, Chorizo and Potatoes and the Flatbread. Everything was great! The meatballs were super tender and we loved the sauce for the chorizo and the empanadas. The flat bread was my favorite! So many flavors that work together so well! The only downfall was the drink sizes. I don’t mind paying a good price for a drink but please don’t skimp on the alcohol. The chef brought us dessert on the house afterwards. Omg was it good! Cappuccino Ice cream with bourbon soaked cherries yumm. Can’t wait to go back!

Just returned from another great place to eat in Downtown Canton — Tapas 218. I loved everything about this place — the atmosphere, the food, the drinks and the service was top notch! We asked to sit downstairs and really enjoyed the surroundings. Our table of 4 shared 6 small plates and enjoyed each one. I’m not a seafood eater so I especially liked the empanadas and flatbread. My husband said the calamari was delicious as was the loaded asparagus. The churros for dessert were nothing but amazing! We will definitely be returning in the near future.

Well… Went here for dinner Friday night. Made a reservation for downstairs and was seated promptly. The atmosphere was excellent, service was great, and good selection of beers on Tap. I ordered the Brooklyn beer they had I forget which one it was but it was tasty and I drank a few tall ones. We ordered Ceviche, Empanadas, The meat, cheese, fruit, and stuffed pepper small plates. First off, I was really looking forward to the Ceviche as it is one of my favorite appetizers. I guess I am spoiled from Ceviche, in Southern Tx, Southern Fla, and So. Cal because, this Ceviche had 2 pieces of shrimp(that was actually 1⁄3 of a shrimp because it was sliced), no fish, no cilantro, and literally tasted like nothing. I would not order this again from there. Secondly, the Empanadas were decent would order them again. Third, I forget what they call it but it had different cheeses, imported meats*, and some strawberries and grapes. This was the best dish in my opinion that was on the table. Last, the stuffed peppers… They were tasty and fresh however, there were only 3 that were smaller than golf balls. The price was only $ 6 but, come on! Now the biggest disappointment of the evening the menu… Very limited — ½ a page(one side small plates one side large plates). I went here to get seafood Paella — I would have assumed a restaurant of this type of nature would have this. When I asked I was told the cook here tonight does not know how to make it??? Hmmm — Very disappointed! So I ordered the 8oz filet(boring). it was mediocre cooked to medium/medium well when I ordered Med Rare — came with asparagus and potatoes which were basic. Others ordered Scallops which looked good but small portion and another ordered the chicken marsala which he stated it was dry with not much marsala sauce. Service was on point. I would like to go back when the have Paella on the menu to update my review. My expectations for this place was much higher — I have been to many of these places around the country and at this point this has been the worst one I have dined at. This could be a great addition to downtown — and I would love to see this place improve.

We were surprised to find real tapas available in Canton and looked forward to our visit. We weren’t disappointed. The various tapas met our expectations and were as good as others we have had on the west coast and elsewhere. The tres leches cake was outstanding. The service was very good, friendly and efficient and they made our return-to list. My only suggestion is that they should consider serving expresso.

I have mixed feelings about this place, and it’s not necessarily about the food. Actually they are kind of lucky I am giving it 3 stars, I’m feeling generous. So we went here for a bday dinner for my brother and normally we don’t mind hanging out for a couple hours and drinking and eating slowly. Our meal started out fine, waitress told us specials and everything. Before I begin on the horrible part of this place let’s begin with the food, which I thought to be quite delicious. I wouldn’t give it 5 stars on food, but it is a cool place with good food. Empanadas and chorizo and the saffron rice that came with the paella were the best in my opinion. I can’t contain myself, I have to start with why I was so pissed off during my experience here. Our service was the worst I have ever had. Ever. Between having to actually get up and find someone 3 different times, to just ignoring our table, to forgetting whole plates of food, to forgetting that I brought a cake they had in the back for my brothers bday, she was just awful. We never got an apology or anything taken off our bill or even a round bought for us saying, ‘hey sorry we sucked so badly, here’s some free alcohol to either forget how bad our service.’ If I could give this place 0 stars based on the service alone I would. I feel like I’m grinding on how bad the service was, and I am, but I will conclude with saying that they are very lucky that my mom got up each time to find someone because if it was me, I wouldn’t had left there until our entire meal and drinks were free. Whoever you are waitress that took care of us, find a new profession.

I don’t use the word«yikes» much in my vocabulary. For some reason when thinking about my last experience here all I can think of is… yikes! Most of my previous review of this place still holds true. Except for one major item — service. Holy smokes was this a rough service experience. I’m not going to go in excruciating detail on what happened but there were so many errors that were compounded into a bottom 5 lifetime service experience for me. It varied from simple forgotten items to major forgotten times as well as downright ignoring our table for extremely long periods of time. Three times we had to get up and find someone. It really scarred a pretty decent food sampling for us. I love small plates style service — trying many new things really interests me rather than a large entrée. So, I tried a bunch of what they had to offer. I would say overall they had 3.5 star food. Most things were decent — nothing was really that bad and the empanadas were outstanding. Of everything I tried it’s probably the only thing I’ll specifically go back for. They had this spicy beef mixture in this delicious homemade pocket of dough. They had some mushroom soup that was a special that was pretty good as well. It’s going to be tough for me to try this place anytime soon again(maybe empanadas to go?). I don’t think this was a isolated service incident as well because coincidentally I had a group of friends upstairs at the same time and they had similar issues. Disappointing, but hopefully they get it worked out so tapas 218 can be a solid downtown canton spot to visit.

We met friends last night at this new restaurant in Canton. I wasn’t sure quite what to expect because I tend to shy away from ethnic food. THE place looked cool inside and I was relieved when I saw the prices on the menu weren’t going to break the bank! The positives: the flautas were insanely good as I could have eaten at least 12 of them. The wait staff was incredible, and the food taste great. The negatives: our friends had to wait forever for their appetizers(even though they were identical to ours) and they also got my dinner wrong. The food took forever to come out of the kitchen to begin with but by the time they replaced my dinner, everyone was done eating. The waitress removed it from m check but she really didn’t need to because like I said the food was fantastic. I would definitely go there again and believe that everyone has an off night on occasion in the kitchen. It was –12 degrees outside, I’ll cut them all the slack in the world.

Great choice for our girls’ night out. The six of us chose about 9 dishes to share and they were all delicious! Our server Heather was awesome, both friendly and helpful. You should give it a try!

Great atmosphere, great food. Can be a little pricey if you get more than Tapas. Canton needs more restaurants like this, casual but upscale. The empanadas are amazing. The bar downstairs looks really nice, it wasn’t open for brunch. Lots of unique choices. Just an overall good feeling to the place.

Stumbled upon this place when I arrived to town early for a friend’s wedding. The décor is really inviting and is just what I would expect from a Spanish tapas restaurant with deep reds and dim lighting. I can only speak to their lunch menu but I had a great experience. They have a mix of their dinner plates on a list of lunch specials at a reasonable price. I ended up going with a soup and salad combo of tortilla soup and their house salad with goat cheese. The food arrived quickly and everything was so flavorful and fresh. I ended up with a great meal under $ 10 and with such great service. I will definitely recommend to the other visitors in town.

Accidently found this place while in Canton for some training. Very good food, there were three of us and we shared our entrees. Scallops, mignon quesdillas and a chicken sandwich. All were incredible and a great value. I will be bringing the wife back soon for dinner!

Dinner for two included choice of three tapas or salads, a platos grande and dessert. Reservations are a must. We called at 5ish and could only get a table in the bar area. Waitress was very nice and willing to explain the menu options. The cerviche was more like pico de gallo with shrimp topped with avocado. I longed for the good citrus flavor, cilantro and some whitefish. The margherita shrimp salad was a bit heavy on dressing and tasted more like something from Chili’s. Meat and cheese plate was tasty but for $ 9 I’m not sure it would be worth it as an ala carte item. Paella had plenty of shrimp, scallops, squid and chorizo but lacked the consistency of true paella with a bit crunch and was not served in a true paella pan fashion. Churros for dessert almost tasted like they had been put in a microwave. Overall, good but not great, lacked the punch and distinct flavors. We would go back again, but definitely not like a café Ba-Ba Reeba(Chicago) or a Valencia, Spain eatery.

It’s always exciting to see a new restaurant open in downtown Canton, and even more exciting when I can give it a nice review! A friend made reservations for four of us on a Tuesday evening. We were the only diners on the upper level(I guess there is a nice bourbon bar downstairs), but the décor and lighting of the space still felt intimate. The walls are colored in deep, richly warm colors, and there is a lot of nice accent lighting. You could get a sense of it being a Spanish restaurant, without the décor being over the top or tacky. We ordered a variety of the tapas to share– the Pimientos Rellenos, Empanadas, Roasted Vegetables, and Floutas. All were delicious and served hot. The empenadas came with a sauce that reminded me a bit of ranchero sauce, and the floutas had a nice, fresh salsa. We all enjoyed the tapas and our wine. In addition, I ordered one of the entrees, which are offered in full or half sizes. I had Chorizo y Patatas which included pieces of chorizo sausage with chopped and fried potato combined in a shallow bowl and topped with carmelized onion. It wasn’t spectacular in presentation, but it was really good comfort food. The chorizo was pretty smoky, and not too spicy. I thought it was a little silly that the server didn’t even know the correct pronunciation of standard spanish words, like pollo… which gave the impression of her not caring or being very knowledgable. But still, she gave us good service. Again– we were the only table upstairs, though, so it would’ve been pretty bad if service was slow. I hope next time I go the restaurant is busy! People– skip Beldon for once, and enjoy the nicer restaurants that are popping up downtown!
